Beginning of the nightmare [2]

Ravi was watching all of it, he saw that the crowd went out of control and attacked the policemen present there. He felt pity for them but he shrugged off his thoughts since it was just a video. For all it's worth it might be a fake video or the people were hired for the protests, after organizing his thoughts Ravi again glued his eyes on the phone.

RAVI'S POV---

'This is rather well edited for a meTube video, for all it's worth it maybe even on par with the special effects used in movies'

"AAHHHHH!!!!"

Ravi's train of thoughts abruptly came to an halt after hearing a high pitched voice from the phone. He immediately turned his focus on that same video. He noticed that the women in the video was that had stopped running was sprinting again, but this time it was evident that she was running from someone, she was panting heavily and two people were running after her. The women would occasionally throw rocks or sticks at them but her pursuers were seemingly unharmed, after a while the women's speed slowed down due to exhaustion but her pursuers were running after her in a frenzy, eventually the distance between them slowly started to decrease and they caught up to her in no time, after coming close enough both of them launched themselves on her and all the three of them fell.

"Thump!!"

The lady fell and a plea escaped her mouth. She spoke in a trembling voice.

"Please.... no....don't do this....no."

unfortunately all her pleading were unanswered and her pursuers remained unfazed, their faces remained dull forever.

"Krrrrrrrrrh!!"

With a weird howling sound one of them jumped on the women and quickly tore through her abdomen and her insides spilled out of her skin.

The women felt intense pain and yelled as loud as she could before going to sleep forever.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

But her pursuers acted indifferent and started eating her, one of them starting eating her intestine, while the other bit the area around her neck and one of her collarbones broke in a blink of an eye, blood spilled all over on the camera.

"SNAP!!"

At that point the video abruptly ended. Ravi wanted to inquire more about the video so he moved his fingers on the screen.

'Let's see... the description doesn't has much information, there is only date and time of the video released, shit no luck!! but what about the comments section?? It's turned off'

Ravi couldn't understand as to why the comments section were turned off, since the uploader did the tremendous task of making such a detailed high quality then why would he turn off the comments section and write nothing in the description, it simply doesn't makes sense

'From what he could gather from the description it that the video was uploaded around one and a half months ago.'

'From the looks of it, it was probably taken in a south Asian country ,also there were billboards that were written in the Bengali language so now narrowing it down the happenings in the video took place in eastern region of India probably the state of West Bengal or it could be the country of Bangladesh, the first one is highly unlikely since some of his relatives lived there, they would inform him and his family if something like this happens, for the second one... wait... isn't that country on lockdown since the appearance of a new COVID strain?? The media reported that a new and more dangerous version of the virus has been found there two months ago, due to which the Bangladeshi president declared emergency in the state, electricity grids shut down due to the virus and they no longer could provide internet facilities to the masses so it too stopped after a couple of weeks. Frankly the world no longer has any idea what is going on there. This would mean that the video is just a detailed attempt to scare of people and spread ill information about the pandem...'

"Hey..... are you going to give me my phone back or stare at it for the next two hours" Ashutosh poked at Ravi.

Suddenly snapping out of his thoughts he blankly looked at Ashutosh.

"Aah...yes I am sorry... Here... your phone."

-EIGHT HOURS LATER-

'Since I was finished with my classes and didn't have much to do I decided to leave and exited the college building, I was outside now, I looked at my watch and it was exactly 05:00 PM. I shifted my gaze towards the sky and the sun was setting down, the reddish-orange color left me in daze. Snapping out of it I made my way towards the gate, I was feeling a little uneasy.'

Walking past the college gate I spotted a bus, it was about to leave, At first I thought of rushing my way inside it, but I didn't, instead I was on the slower side, I made my way inside the bus and sat in the second last window seat on the left side. Even now I could see the beautiful sun going below the horizon but I couldn't bear to look at it anymore due to an uneasy feeling inside my mind.

I don't want to accept that but that video Ashu showed me was the cause of it, I can't get it out of my head, I mean how could I????? Everything about that video felt so real, that scream was real, I could hear the cracking of her bones, I could hear her, she was in severe pain, even now thinking about it I am getting goosebumps, the blood that sprayed all over the camera, how can I not worry about it????

If somehow that video turned out to be real then what will happen to this world????

What will I be able to do????

Will I be able to protect my family????

Ma and Papa will be safe right????

My little brother, What about him????

Countless questions flooded my mind at that time but I couldn't find the answer to any of them. My heart was beating at an alarming rate, I decided to calm myself and took a deep breathe. But should i do about these questions???? I just can't get them out of my head. Ah!.....my head hurts. The pain in my head wasn't decreasing, I just felt powerless. I desperately wanted to stop thinking at this point but It just won't stop.

I desperately thought to myself and finally arrived on the conclusion that I need answers, REAL ANSWERS so I reached on the left pocket of my jeans and took out my phone and called ma.
