They Found Out

James woke up with excruciating headache and hunger, he saw his wife and only remaining son sleeping but what baffled him was that they were all wearing the cloth they planned going out with. Could it be that we got tired and all slept off? He questioned himself but how can the three of us just sleep off and not wake up till late night. He picked up his phone to check time but he realized that he and the family has been sleeping for 4 days running. He screamed and quickly woke Jenny and the last son up and they were all surprised at what happened, Jenny was concerned that Lucy must be very hungry but when she got to her room, she didn't find her, she ran to the garage and also checked the toilet and bathroom but did not find her, then she became more worried. She told James that Lucy was missing and they decided to quickly report to the police about everything that was going on, when they got to the exit of the house they discovered that something like a wall was covering them, they could not see the wall but they can't pass through the door, it appears as though Lucy's enchantment really worked because the demons would have found them. James tried everything in his power to reach people outside but to no avail, he tried to find an escape route but to no avail, the phone signals were off it was as though they were inside a dome. While they were looking for solution to bring down the barrier, Jenny found a letter written by Lucy and left in her room for them to see.

She wrote ''It's me Lucy, for you to be reading this it means you are fully awake from your long sleep, I know this may come as a surprise but I'm fine. I sealed you all off because there is a war going on between the demons that killed your sons, relatives and even friends, they have sworn to kill you all but as my family, I have sworn to protect you. I added some drugs in your food to avoid you waking up and leaving the premises because if I had approached you to explain the war, you wouldn't have believed me so the best option was to make you sleep, seal the area so the demons cannot find you then lure them far away from here. I will explain everything when I come back but please, don't leave the dome no matter what. I have made provision for food that can last you for two weeks, lets remain indoors until I am back''.

James and Jenny looked at each other but were both dumbfounded, they both had similar thought but no one could err it open. Is Lucy a demon? James asked himself, but she is calm and naïve, Jenny thought. Does it mean Lucy has been protecting us indirectly since we arrived here? The last son James voiced out, ''does it mean we have been living with a demon possessed...'', were my brothers killed because of her? lots of unanswered questions but at the moment the least they could do is to remain calm until Lucy returns back. They went to the fridge and got something to eat because they had stayed for days without eating anything. Jenny was worried because she dreamt about Lucy dying, she told her husband about it but James brushed it aside and insisted that its just a dream, besides a demon cannot die, and Lucy has been living for many years.

While they were eating the pork meat made in the fridge with Grilled rice and drink, they felt a sharp sensation moving like a wave but clouded with much power, then the seal opened and in walked 5 demons in human flesh including Lucy who was badly injured due to their fight. Lucy was dead wounded by different cuts, if not for the intervention of Zyana and the other three demons from ten commandment, Lucy would have died. She was kept at the Centre of the parlor and different healing ointments were used to revive her back, Jenny was scared because she felt she would lose another child even though Lucy was adopted, she is still her child.

The demon of death cornered Zyana in the Kitchen and asked for the instrument of freedom which she claimed was in her possession but Zyana was unwilling to answer, she told him that she is aware that if she hands over the xoxa to him, he would abandon them or kill them instantly, she suggested that they collectively look for the last piece of the instrument, then they can all perform the rite and be free together. The demon of death was vexed and wanted to attack Zyana but the others held him and reminded him that they already compromised and the best way to be free is by unity and corporation. Zyana left to tender to Lucy but found her mumbling something, at first she didn't notice what she was saying but in matter of split minutes, she discovered that their hide out has been found. When they broke the siege and barrier, it attracted the demons and they are not far away from them. They all gathered to ensure they seal the door up but it was too late for that because the enemy has tracked their scents miles away and the house they reside is in view. The only option left for them was to run instantly and find another location to dwell and operate from. They all rallied together with James, Jenny and the last son and they fled to James old apartment which they abandoned and left for sale. While they ran, they could hear creaks and then cracks and noises from the apartment they were staying, they ran until they all got to the old apartment and sealed it up instantly to avoid been noticed.
