“So, what are we going to do about the offer you accepted, brother? If you had just let Garrick handle it, we might have been able to salvage the situation, but now you’ve put us in a tight spot,” the Third Elder said, pulling out his gourd and preparing to take a drink.

“Put that away! We have a younger generation here with us we can’t have you setting a bad example,” the Grand Elder admonished, glaring at the Third Elder.

“Oh, come on, old man. You’re just mad because I called by your name instead of your title,” the Third Elder retorted.

But before the Grand Elder could respond, Alec’s voice cut through the brewing argument, redirecting their focus.

“You don’t need to worry about him being a bad influence on me, Grand Elder, I’ve been drinking wine with Gramps since even before my awakening, and even my master at the academy drinks occasionally, so I’m no stranger to it.” Alec said calmly.
