It might have been the sound in the random alley or the pain in his heart that brought him back to his senses, but still, when he opened his eyes, all he saw was the dark sky and an open environment filled with tall buildings that blocked most of the sky.
This was a completely bizarre feeling for him. He was still in a groggy state after waking up.
"Hey AI buddy, are you there?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm here. How may I help you?" it replied in its monotone voice.
"Why didn't you wake me up while I was asleep?" he asked in an anxious tone, worried that his parents might call the cops if he didn't return soon.
"I am not programmed to operate at that level," it responded.
"Right," he said, packing his gear before heading to the metro station.
On the board, it showed 11:00, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
This might have been a big deal for the person inhabiting this body. Still, he didn't realize that the original owner of this body was exactly like this—falling asleep in random alleys and returning home unnoticed. The only reason the original owner hadn't ended his life was because he felt like a burden and believed he owed his parents too much for all the effort they put into his teachings.
While thinking about that he checked his pockets.
"sigh as expected, I should have known this would happen my paper bills are missing," he said to himself.
while checking for his phone and thank heaven or something it was there.
"wow no one stole my phone, I guess here it would be a greater crime. Hey, Sirius is there a reason that prevents people from stealing phones."
"mr it is just that they wouldn't be able to open them it has advanced tech and only the owner can ever open it," it replied to him.
While speaking with Sirius he reached the station and entered the train.
The next few days followed the same routine. Slowly, he began to grow like the original owner of this body and correct his flawed demeanor from the diary and his occasional sprouts of despair-inducing memories,
but that gold-like state didn't appear again.
For now, his goal was to enter the current college(school) and fit in, living this life to its fullest. After all, this world even had AI chips embedded in people's brains, similar to game 3077 from his original world.
He knew he wouldn't achieve the greatest job or the best life, but he was determined to make this life his own—one where he could be alone and self-sufficient. This world was still a strange place to him, one he was entirely unaccustomed to.
A few days passed since all these happened he was regularly eating sleeping going to random places discovering random events about this planet getting accustomed to all these weird things accepting the the current version of his emotions and slowly unwinding his own real feelings.
"Hey Ai, what should I even do now" he asked the AI one day
"Mr you can study do exercise or any other things that you like" it replied.
"you know what play music thing or connect to the internet and just say the current world events" he asked it.
"no, I can't do all that sir as I'm the lowest version of this chip I can't connect to the internet not in my feature only access data u listened to or asked me to store"it replied concisely to jab at his wounds of being in the lowest uni or clg whatever u call.
"Damm why didn't you tell me about it before u" he said in anger.
"Mr. U ordered me to keep quiet and only reply to the question being asked," it said in its usual robotic tone to water down his anger.
