Leaving the palace

Selena stood in her grand bedroom, her heart heavy with a mixture of sadness and slight unwillingness. The room that had been her sanctuary ever since she stepped foot onto this land now felt cold and foreign. The walls seemed to close in on her, suffocating her with the happiest memories of her life that she had had in this place.

The time period stipulated in the agreement of divorce prepared by Queen Mother Ava had come and had to leave whether she wanted or not.

She was packing her belongings with the help of her maidservants, Edith and Joan, while the other attendants prepared for the long journey. At least the queen mother was generous enough to let her know that she could carry everything except the furniture in her bedroom. Her reason was that the new queen wouldn't be able to use things that others used.
