The Mysterious Witch

Orians P.O.V.

As we follow the trail to the rogue, my mind is preoccupied with thoughts of my newly found mate. The image of her short blond hair and beautiful blue eyes on the verge of tears looking up at me popped into my mind making my chest tighten.

"We need to hurry this up quickly and get back to our mate!" My wolf De'von commands. "You didn't even ask her what her name was! Some mate you are."

"Yes, master," I reply in a snarky tone. "I just thought it would make her happy if we saved her sister first."

"Okay, point taken." He huffs out, and I roll my eyes.

At that moment, I smell the blood of rogues, not just one, but multiple. It smells like at least five, if not more. One female wolf wouldn't be able to take on all of them. The panic starts to settle in the pit of my stomach.

"Beta!" I heard the scout I sent ahead call out from the top of a nearby hill, and as soon as I met his gaze, I knew something was wrong. The smell of more rogues and more blood reaches us as we get closer, but I don't smell the blood of a female wolf, which is good and not so good.

As we reach our scout, I look at the scene in front of us in absolute shock. There are dead rogue bodies everywhere. I count nine bodies. In the middle is a small female. As I get closer, my eyes widen as I realize she's not a wolf. I take a sniff and smell a witch. A witch in the kings' territory, This is not going to end well.

" How many did you kill?" I ask, looking at Evan, the scout. He looks at me with a pale complexion.

"I only killed one, sir," He said. "By the time I arrived, she had already killed most of them. She passed out as I killed the last one that was... Umm, he was.."

"Spit it out, Evan," I ordered.

"He was raping her, Sir." He said, His voice barely above a whisper while looking at the ground.

"Alert the Doctor and ask him to meet us at the castle and find me a shirt to cover her with," I order the men as I walk closer to her to make sure I can hear her heartbeat.

One of the men hands me a large t-shirt, and I quickly dress her the gently lift her into my arms, and we make our way back to the castle.

"The kind is going to be furious that we're bringing a witch into the castle," De'von says.

"I know, but we can't just leave her out here after what happened to her," I say, not really sure what to do.

"And what of our mate? She is clearly a wolf but states this girl is her sister. How can her sister be a witch?" He asked, clearly confused about this situation.

"I'm not sure De'von," I say, just as confused as he is. "We'll just have to ask her about it when we get back to her."

"Alert the King that we have a situation," I say to Evan, and he nods.

"He said he will meet us in the dungeons," Evan says after mind-linking the King.

Rains P.O.V.

As I open my eyes, all I can see is darkness. The first thing that comes to mind is that I must be dead. Then a large silver wolf appears in front of me with a glow that looks like it comes from the moon itself. As I stare at the beautiful wolf, I'm at a loss for words.

"I'm sorry I couldn't defeat them all. There were so many of them." The wolf says, and I recognize the voice of the wolf instantly.

"Dosha? Is that you?" I ask.

"Yes, Rain, I am your wolf." She replies.

"Are we dead?" I ask the question I'm not sure I want the answer to.

"No, Just asleep." She says, and I take a deep breath.

"Thank the Goddess. That means I can see Jess and Odett again." I say as relief floods threw my body.

"Rain, we need to wake up." She says. "But I need you to know you won't be able to reach me right away. I used up all of my strength on those rogues."

"Okay, I understand. Wait, how many rogues were there?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I killed seven, but the last one overpowered us. I couldn't fight anymore, he raped us before someone could come to our rescue." She said, pain coursing through her voice. "I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to keep us safe."

"It's not your fault Dosha. I understood the risk of taking Odetts place. You did the best you could, given our current condition." I say proudly, trying to push what she said from my mind, and she nods.

Suddenly Dosha's body starts to fade away, and her glow becomes so blinding I have to shut my eyes tight so it won't blind me. When I open my eyes, I'm in some kind of cell. I look around to see cement floors, silver bars around me, and a cot in the middle with a thin blanket covering me. I lift the blanket and find I'm in only a shirt that smells like another wolf. The scent is amazing. Sandalwood and lavender, it's the perfect combination. Suddenly a man dressed as a guard walks up to the cell, and I can tell the scent is definitely not his.

"Hello, How did I get here?" I ask.

"I brought you here and had the doctor check your wounds." Said a man walking up by the guard.

"Thank you," I say. "Did you happen to see my sister Jessica with a little pup named Odett?"

"They are here and safe, but before you see them I need you to answer a few questions." He says and I nod, showing him I'll answer his questions.

"How does a witch have a werewolf sister?" He asks and waits for me to answer.

"Well, she's not my real sister. We grew up in the orphanage of her pack together." I answer and he nods like he's taking in the information.

"How did you get all of those scars on your back?" He asked, and my body went ridged.

"Oh well, the orphanage mother liked to beat and whip me because I didn't heal like everyone else. The pack Alpha would give her bonuses to hurt me as much as possible every week. Even when I make sure everything is clean." I say, staring down at the cement floor.

"How did you take out seven rogues? Was it your magic?" He questioned.

"My wolf took over. I can't remember anything after getting Odett away from the first rogue." I said. "And I don't know how to use my magic."

"That's not possible! That would make you a hybrid, and they don't exist." He states while looking very skeptical.

"It's okay. I didn't believe it either at first." I say. "I'm sorry they trespassed on your territory. I was only trying to keep them safe. Please forgive them."

"I am not the Alpha. I am Orian, the king's beta." He says proudly. "And I'm also Jessica's mate."

"Please don't reject her. She is an amazing person, The sweetest and most loving soul in the world!" I say as I'm on my knees, begging with tears falling down my cheeks. "Please don't hurt her. She deserves to be happy and loved!"

"I have no plans of hurting her, little one." He says, and I can't help but look at him in shock.

"Really?" I say, shock clearly written on my face.

"Yes, really. Now back to the questions." He says while looking at me. I quickly rise to my feet and nod my head. "Why did ya'll run away from the pack the orphanage was in?"

"The Alpha had planned to kill me before I turned 17 and got my magic. He couldn't trust a witch as the pack house slave. Even though Dosha said I'd already turned 17, they didn't know that because they just guessed my age and birthdate. But I didn't find that out till later." I say as I stare at the floor again. "Jess found out about his plan and made us run. But before we could leave the Alpha and his son showed up with Odett. Jess said she'd be killed on her 17th birthday for being a rogue. So we decided to take her with us. The Alphas son Alpha Ian was also my mate..."

"Or fake mate as my wolf puts it. After he rejected me for being a weak orphaned witch, he left me in a storage closet and went to have sex with someone else knowing I would feel the pains of his betrail on top of the rejection pain. Jess was the one that found me and told me I would have to accept his rejection to stop the pain, but I couldn't do it till we got to the packs' border that night."

"You didn't know how to accept his rejection? He asked

"No," I said, shaking my head. "They thought I was just a witch, so I wasn't allowed to attend school."
