That Moment

"No! Stop!" Gloria blocked Beth who followed Marcella in.

"Why? It would be fun," Beth pouted cutely.

Gloria was stunned. Pretty women do have an advantage. If she, a woman, could get moved by beauty, how much would red-blooded men be?

"No," Gloria stood by her resolution and closed the door. She might have joked with Marcella but she was not going to intrude on a private moment between a couple.

Marcella cleared her throat. "Tony…" she called for him. Her heart was pounding out of excitement and her voice broke.

"Birdie…"

Although she couldn't see his face, she could hear the happiness in his voice. She wanted to see his expression when he looked at her; she fought her instinct to look down.

He turned to face her. There was a smile on his face. She thought he would go to her and…say something, do something. But he stood there frozen.
