Talking Through

The return ride was silent. Marcella thought that Tony might say something but he didn't. He didn't look mad but the happiness she saw on his face on the drive to the restaurant. She didn't like that.

She didn't want their ride to be silent. "I do not like this silence," she said. 

She didn't know whether it was a good idea to reveal everything she was thinking to her husband. Being a little secretive won't hurt, so others say. But she couldn't bear the silence between them when he was not happy. 

Tony took a glance at her and turned on the radio. Marcella pouted and leaned on the seat with her arms folded over her chest. Since it was Valentine's day, romantic songs were getting broadcasted in every station. 

'Put your head on my shoulders' played on one of the stations. Marcella tapped his hand to stop him from changing the channel.
