Peaceful Days

Tony's cousin then brought them to his house. The elders in the town were glad to meet the family of Robert Crawford. 

He did well for himself!

Everyone said that at least once. Some of Tony's grandfather's relatives who knew him were still alive, and they hugged little Joey to their chest closely.

Tony was touched. His grandfather would have been this happy to meet his great-grandson. 

They stayed in the town for a couple of days. Tony sometimes wondered about her insistence on meeting the people. She loved traveling back home too. She insisted that she loved it, and he could see she was telling the truth. 

She loved taking long walks and could form a great bond with almost anyone. Especially unruly kids loved listening to her. She had a natural nurturing quality to her that made them submit to her.
