Chapter 27: Hairpins

When I walked up to her she handed me my money. Or the money that was left over. I put it all in my virtual wallet. I got 48 gold, 28 silver, and 5 copper coins as my change. That was an expensive dinner. I spent over 900 gold on food for mainly the girl. If I wasn't going to get it on later, I would have made her pay half the bill.

I won't ever admit it out loud. There are some people who would call me a scoundrel for saying such things. Mostly the women would call me that but I want them to foot the bills. Once money gets involved then they would understand.

We headed back to the brothel. Even though I feel better Fu Xien is worried about me getting sick. What a sweet girl. I wish there were more girls like this in this world. Well, this world has monsters that can destroy a nation. I guess not everyone can be sweet in kind knowing their life could end in a moment of time.

When we arrived at the brothel and restaurant FIfi was there again. She apologized for attacking me. She thought I threw the hairpin out of the window. Fu Xien told her what had happened to clear things up.

I wonder why she would be upset about a hairpin—knowing what she did over a wooden one. I am nervous now about giving her the one I bought. What is the significance of a hairpin? I guess I will find out later.

When we got up to the second floor first room we lay down. I asked if she wanted to go take a bath together but she said we will do that later. I wish we did that now. At least take off our clothes. My clothes are stinky. I am stinky.

I will have to ask her if we can bathe later. I do feel like taking a nap so I will take a nap. I wonder if I will…
