The Annihilation Maker in DxD granted the wielder the ability to create numerous creatures from the wielder's shadows. As such, the more honed the user's imagination and productivity, the more powerful the creature, as well as being able to produce a greater variety of creatures.
However, Ryūhei didn't know that the original Annihilation Maker, which could create monsters that would take the shape of black humanoid creatures with various features similar to the Shadow Monarch's shadow army from Solo Leveling, would be so different in his hand.
Perhaps, it was due to a mutation of the Annihilation Maker after seeping into his spirit or it was driven by his desire to create something different. Who knows. After all, any sacred gear can also adapt and evolve based on the wielder's thoughts, needs, and feelings, gaining abilities or qualities as time passes.
Anyway, after Ryūhei saw the slime act, he ordered, "Little guy, come here!"
*Hop*
*Hop*
The slime jumped up and down, bouncing off its soft and elastic-like body. It jumped onto Ryūhei's arms as he grabbed it.
"What a cute creature." Ryūhei said. "Alright. From now on, you are Rimuru Tempest!"
"Ok!" The slime replied as its body formed a mouth-like shape.
Then he held his chin. Ryūhei created the slime based on the Tensura novel he bought alongside Solo Leveling and this slime had a lot of abilities or skills. However, he couldn't try it here. Moreover, it seemed he forgot to give the slime some modern knowledge as well. Perhaps he could give it later.
"Well, let's try another one."
He imagined an electric mouse shape from Pokemon, and a Booba sword lightning strike from the Raiden Shogun yesterday. Since Ryūhei already understood how the Annihilation Maker worked, Ryūhei was able to create this second monster easily. Moreover, this one was simpler than the slime.
The moment Ryūhei summoned it from his shadow, a small and cute mouse-like creature that was completely covered by yellow fur appeared before him.
Yep, it was a freaking Pikachu.
Arms with five tiny fingers on their forehands and three sharp fingers on their hind legs, long yellow ears tipped in black, a large tail notable for being shaped like a lightning bolt, and two red, circle-shaped pouches used for storing its electricity.
Although Ryūhei didn't really know much about Pokemons, at least he knew the most iconic Pokemon in his past life.
"Pika?"
Just like the previous slime, Pikachu also showed a confused expression. But, he just let it be.
When he thought about how Pikachu confronted the Raiden Shogun face to face or perhaps Yae Miko, he couldn't help but hold his laugh.
"Mouse vs mil– *ehem* fox might be amusing." Ryūhei chuckled before showing a devilish grin.
At that moment, Jiu asked him after seeing him summon Pikachu.
"Hey, since when did you have familiars? And what is this creature?"
"It's a mouse."
"There's no way a mouse can be like this. Not to mention the slime earlier which was clearly different from the other slimes."
"Just zip it. I'm just experimenting with my power." Ryūhei laid his back on the chair while thinking about what else he could do with the Annihilation Maker.
Jiu furrowed her brows. He'd never displayed an ability like this before. And… why now?
"How many powers did you have? Except for summoning these creatures, the thing you used to erase everything, cloning, teleport, and explosive blast?"
"Hell. I have a lot. It's just, that they're sealed in another world."
That response was so irritating, making her not ask such a thing ever again.
Ryūhei recalled both of the monsters. Since both monsters are perfect, he planned to train them, testing them in combat. However, he couldn't do it in the middle of the city, could he? Therefore, he planned to find a training location.
A few moments later, just as Ryūhei wanted to go out for a stroll, someone called out to him.
That person was a man with slightly messy hair wearing an orange kimono with long sleeves black inner shirt, striped black and brown pants, and sandals.
"Erm, sir. Are you really looking for an employee?"
"Well, yes."
"Can I apply for a job here?"
"Sure. As long as you meet my requirements." Ryūhei opened the door of his store again. "Come in!"
"Eh, now?"
"Next year."
"..."
"It's now, obviously. Why do you even ask?" After that, Ryūhei went inside without waiting for his answer.
"Ah, yes." Then, the man went inside the store, following Ryūhei.
That man was called Kyouta, age 21, unmarried. He lived on the outskirts of Inazuma City. The reason he applied for this job was because he liked light novels. When he knew that Yae Miko bought a lot of things from Shueisha and a lot of people talked about manga and novels, he immediately ran to this place. Too bad, the manga and novels were sold out. However, when he saw a poster that the store looked for employees, he decided to try.
And after the interview, Kyouta was told to start work the next day.
When Ryūhei went outside again, he sighed. If he looked carefully with his eyes, various negative emotions seemed to pollute the air in Inazuma City. He knew there were many cases where a place with a lot of negative emotions or energy would give birth to monsters with forms of any living beings residing in Teyvat except deities. That was why Onmyoji or priestesses existed, fortunately.
Just then, a young girl jumped from the Shimura restaurant. The geographic location of Ryūhei's store is one level below the restaurant. Although the store was next to the restaurant, people would need to use the stairs if they wanted to stop by both of them.
*Rip*
"Auch."
In her haste, the girl's kimono caught on the railing and tore, revealing the white skin of her body. It was a good thing that her chest area was wrapped up in sarashi, a kind of white cloth made of cotton or linen.
Feeling sorry for the girl who seemed to be being chased by the Shogun's army, especially after seeing the Vision of the girl hanging from her obi, Ryūhei understood what was happening. Moreover, he knew who she was.
"Get in real quick!" Ryūhei pointed at the store. The girl just nodded and went inside. Ryūhei locked the door swiftly, before going back to the spot where he stood before.
In no time, the soldiers came running toward him. Some went straight down the stairs leading to the outskirts of Inazuma City, and some stopped in front of Ryūhei.
"Did you see someone running just now? I think that person jumped here." One of the soldiers knew that this was a new store. And since the store seemed closed already, the soldier only asked if Ryūhei had seen someone run in his direction earlier.
"There!"
Ryūhei pointed in a random direction opposite the direction the soldiers were coming from. After the soldier thanked him, the soldier gestured to chase.
Just when he was about to go back inside, he felt someone locked on him. He turned around and saw a tall woman, taller than Ryūhei, with short hair carrying a bow and arrows on her back and a katana on her hip, indigo hair cut into an uneven bob, pale skin, and golden eyes.
He knew her pretty well based on the information he got from Ayato. Her name is Kujou Sara.
Even though she looks like that human, she is actually a Tengu, a Yōkai or supernatural being from Inazuma, just like Adepti from Liyue.
Although Kujou Sara is often seen using a bow as a weapon, in reality she is well-versed in other weapons such as a sword, polearm, and dagger. Thus, it wasn't strange if she carried a sword as well.
'Hmmm. So, this is the new store that the people are talking about?' Sara looked at the board. Then glanced at Ryūhei, trying to see if he had a Vision or not. And trying to recall if she met the young man before her. Right, it was a young man who remade an ID card yesterday. In fact, both Ryūhei and Sara never met each other except when Ryūhei remade his ID card. However, she felt there was something strange about Ryūhei, although she didn't know what it was.
"Hey, did you see the girl earlier?" Sara asked.
"Yes." Ryūhei nodded.
"Where did she go?"
"There!" Ryūhei pointed. Ryūhei didn't really want to make trouble for now. That was why he just replied to what she asked. However, he just pointed randomly.
"Thank you." Then, Sara went in the direction he pointed to.
Not long after that. Another one came. And it was Yae Miko.
"Come on. Why do people keep coming when I'm going for a stroll? Can you all stop bothering me?" Ryūhei whined.
He just coincidentally wanted to go outside before trying to train and test his slime and Pikachu. But, people kept coming and coming. This really made him think that bombing the area around Inazuma City would be a good idea.
