"W-Wow! That was amazing!"
Naomi was speechless and couldn't believe what she just saw.
Raven shrugged his shoulders, not caring for her remarks.
A couple of minutes had passed by, and the principal came back to the stage.
"We're sorry for the delay. The test will be taken again in three days."
With that said, he walked out, not waiting for anyone to respond.
All the students looked at each other, wondering what they should do.
Raven and Naomi stood up.
"Let's find our teacher first." Raven said.
"I'm with you." Naomi said back.
They both left the auditorium and went to the hallway.
It wasn't long before they found their teacher and approached her.
"So what now?" Raven asked.
Ms Thompson thought for a moment.
"Just head back to your hotel. Since you're paying for it yourself, the school won't compensate you."
Raven nodded, not worried about the money.
"I know that, but what about the dates and times to show back up?"
"You'll have to wait and see."
Raven sighed and turned around.
"What about the other students?"
"Oh, they've already gone." Ms Thompson said. "They were tired of waiting and left."
Raven nodded. It's almost time for him to leave, too.
"I'll head back to my hotel as well." Raven waved.
His teacher nodded and watched him walk away and take out his phone to call somebody.
It wasn't for another 10 minutes until a fancy-looking car showed up.
"Humph, it must be nice having money." Naomi said bitterly.
Ms Thompson didn't refute her, also feeling a little envy.
Raven returned to his hotel room and sat on the bed.
There are still three days left until the test is retaken.
He got lost in his thoughts when his phone vibrated, showing a text message.
It's from Ms Thompson.
Hey Raven, meet up tomorrow at the cafeteria centre at 9am. I'll explain everything then.
Raven smiled and quickly replied,
Got it.
Raven put away his phone and laid back on his bed and thought for a while.
He had three days to himself out in Toronto. What should he do?
One thing that he could do was to just relax, but he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep right now.
Raven thought back to when Vanessa could show Icons of the nearest hotel.
Isn't that similar to Augmented Reality?
Raven opened up his laptop and searched for augmented reality. After a while, he found what he was looking for: AR.
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows digital information to be superimposed over a user's view of the real world.
This includes things such as computer-generated graphics, videos, or even 3D objects.
Raven thought for a moment and asked Vanessa.
"Vanessa, can you make it so I can play games whenever and wherever?"
[I can, but only for 4 hours till the 'system' you're using will need to reset.]
Raven nodded but wondered why for four hours.
"Why so short?"
[Too much for me to remember all at once. I can access and do stuff with given information, but going through trillions of stuff at once makes me not want to do it.]
"So you're saying you can, but don't want to?"
[Yes.]
"Okay, if that's how it is, I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow morning."
Raven closed his laptop and lay down on his bed.
Tomorrow marks the start of the second day of his 'holiday'.
The next day, Raven woke up early.
He checked his phone and saw that he received a message from Ms Thompson.
Raven met me at the cafeteria centre in downtown Toronto and looked for his teachers and classmates.
Raven arrived there 10 minutes earlier than the meeting time Ms Thompson specified.
In front of the cafeteria, there were two girls sitting down with Starbucks in their hands.
Raven recognised them, Naomi, and that other chick on the bus.
He can't exactly remember her name.
[It's Veronica...]
Raven Ignored Vanessa and bought some coffee from Tim's and made his way to them.
"Hi." Raven said.
Naomi and Veronica both looked surprised at his sudden appearance.
"When did you come?" Veronica asked, sipping her drink.
"I came here a few minutes ago." Raven answered.
"Where are the others?" Raven asked.
"Well, we're still waiting." Naomi answered.
Suddenly, a group of people walked into the cafeteria, including Ms Thompson.
"Good morning everyone." Ms Thompson greeted.
All of them gave a small cheer in response.
"I got news late at night about dates and times. I also got news about having a new teacher mark the test."
Ms Thompson stared at Raven.
"Hey? What did I do? I just did the man a favour and gave him a whole stage!"
Everyone rolled their eyes at Raven and ignored him.
"Considering Raven was supposed to be in the same hotel as us, I got some extra money here, so I'll spend it on breakfast for you guys as an apology for what has happened."
Raven nodded.
He is now happy that he didn't spend any money on breakfast.
"Since we're early, let's go to one of those restaurants nearby?"
Ms Thompson suggested.
"Sure." Raven agreed happily.
They all walked to a restaurant nearby.
"Welcome, Welcome!" The waiter said as they walked in.
"A table for six, please."
"Certainly, sir."
As soon as they sat, everyone ordered and started eating.
While having lunch, Raven asked Ms Thompson about the teacher who will mark the test.
"This teacher is very strict and doesn't accept excuses. If any student isn't prepared, that means that you won't pass this test. She's also known for marking extremely accurately."
"So, she's the best?" Raven asked.
"If you want to get A+, then yes, she's the best."
Raven sighed quietly.
"Also, the test will be hard, like really hard," Ms Thompson added.
"Not like it matters for me though..." Raven muttered.
After finishing their meals, they all headed back to the hotel.
Raven didn't go, he stayed at the hotel.
"Since we'll be here for a while, I better go shopping for some clothes."
