Chapter 87

[Late Upload. Please Forgive me!]

When everyone saw Charles lying hurt and unconscious, they panicked. Some called for a doctor, while others checked his vital signs. But the soldiers nearby aimed their guns at Fang Mo.

In the chaos, a woman with blue skin rushed toward Fang Mo.

"You jerk!"

Fang Mo raised his hand and created a gravitational field, making her float in mid-air. She struggled, but couldn't escape.

"Don't touch me," Fang Mo warned.

He looked at the people in front of him and smiled, saying, "Controlling my strength is hard. I don't want to accidentally hurt anyone..."

And he wasn't lying.

The gravitational field from the Void Ring was powerful but not precise. Even if Fang Mo only wanted to control someone's movements, he had to be careful. With strong people like Thor or the Hulk, it was manageable, but with an ordinary person, a small mistake could cause them harm.

"Who are you?" a woman asked nervously, staring at Fang Mo. "Are you Sebastian's follower?"

"What? Sebastian is still alive?" Fang Mo relaxed a bit and replied, "That's good. I thought I killed him. Now we can finally settle things..."

But his words angered the blue-skinned woman floating in mid-air.

"So, you know him!" she shouted angrily, struggling in the air. "How dare you hurt Charles! You jerk!"

Fang Mo glanced at her.

He recognized her as Mystique, who could change her appearance. They said having her on your side was like having the beauty of ancient beauties and modern internet celebrities combined.

But right now, she seemed more innocent and less experienced.

After all, the movie was about their early days. The present Mystique couldn't even handle a gun, let alone kill someone. She was still new to all this. If she played Minecraft, she probably wouldn't survive for more than two minutes before getting blown up by a creeper.

"You really care about Charles, huh?"

Thinking this, Fang Mo smiled at Mystique. "Have you told him how you feel?"

Mystique was shocked, feeling frozen in the air.

"Seriously, despite my tough appearance, I've never bullied anyone except mentally handicapped people," Fang Mo said, shrugging. "But this kid Charles... He invaded my thoughts without permission."

"Well..."

"If you were in my position, would you want to have no secrets?"

Before Mystique could respond, Fang Mo continued quickly, "Knowing your menstrual cycle, the people you like, your fetishes, even when and where you've gone to the bathroom in secret, what you used, how long it took, how many times... Is that okay with you?"

"But... I..."

Mystique, who had recently become an adult, was completely shocked. After struggling for a while, she couldn't help but say, "Charles... he... promised not to read my mind..."

"He said that, but can you really be sure if he's finished and won't admit it?" Fang Mo asked. "Would you be able to find out?"

"Charles is wrong, but..." The shape-shifting woman's aura weakened. "But you shouldn't treat him like this."

"Why not?"

Fang Mo walked up to Charles and took out a bottle of potion. He poured it on the back of Charles' head.

The shape-shifting woman got worried and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Watch," Fang Mo said.

He lifted Charles with one hand, and everyone saw the wound on his head quickly healing. After a few seconds, Charles opened his eyes.

"What happened?" Charles asked, confused.

He remembered how he got injured and looked at Fang Mo holding him. Charles was about to use his abilities, but Fang Mo quickly hit him on the head with a stick. Despite being a telepath, Charles had a physical body like an ordinary person. He fell down and felt weak.

"You see, he never learns," Fang Mo said, throwing Charles to the ground and shrugging at the shape-shifting woman.

The shape-shifting woman didn't know what to say.

"By the way, I heard you say that Sebastian isn't dead," Fang Mo said, turning to another woman nearby. "Where is he?"

"Aren't you from the Hellfire Club?" the woman asked, surprised.

"I am the leader of the Hellfire Joke Club," Fang Mo made up a story. "We make sure everyone can laugh in the face of Death... that's it."

The woman didn't understand and was confused.

"Anyway, I am Sebastian's enemy. Can you understand that?" Fang Mo said. "Eighteen years ago, I fought him at Auschwitz and accidentally let him escape."

"What?!" the woman exclaimed in shock. "You're the one who destroyed the concentration camp in Poland?!"

"Yes," Fang Mo said. "I made a mistake with my moves and went too far."

"Oh my goodness, how did you do it?" the woman asked, covering her mouth in surprise. "Our nuclear weapons were still being tested. We rushed the tests because we heard Auschwitz was destroyed..."

"What?" Fang Mo frowned. "So you guys went to Japan early and dropped atomic bombs?"

"I don't know..." the woman nervously replied. "Why are you asking this? Aren't you Japanese?"

"No, but back then, they kind of deserved it. But now... nah, I love anime," Fang Mo said seriously.

When Fang Mo spoke, the woman felt relieved, even though she didn't understand everything he said. But before she could say anything, a slightly chubby man with glasses hurried over.

"Um, I don't mean to interrupt, but it looks like someone is floating in the sea..."

"What kind of person?" the woman asked.

"It looks like the person who controlled the anchor on the ship earlier," the bespectacled man shrugged. "But it's just a guess. Maybe it's Sebastian's follower, who knows..."

Curious about what the man said, Fang Mo went to the edge of the deck to see for himself.

And there, he saw Magneto, wearing a diving suit, floating in the sea. It seemed like he had drowned and was unconscious.

"Oh, isn't this Erik?" Fang Mo chuckled, reaching out his hand.

Using his gravitational power, he pulled Magneto and a large amount of seawater onto the deck.

Seeing Magneto, Fang Mo remembered the current situation. If he recalled correctly, Charles and the US government were trying to capture Sebastian, and Magneto was also after him. Surprisingly, their goals aligned—they all wanted to catch Sebastian.

And now Fang Mo was part of the mix too.

It's important to mention that the submarine on the other side was powered by nuclear energy. The movie didn't specify if it was fusion or fission, but Fang Mo personally thought it was more likely a fusion reactor.

Fusion reactions used hydrogen isotopes as fuel, which was clean and safe.

Unfortunately, because of Charles' earlier interruption, Fang Mo momentarily forgot this detail, allowing Sebastian to escape in the submarine.

Since Sebastian had already fled, it was clear that the military's plan to capture him had failed. So, they had no choice but to retreat and regroup. Raven, worried about Charles' injury, and with Erik drowning and unconscious, the commander decided to send them for treatment.

But this treatment didn't involve an ordinary hospital.

After some discussion, Moira arranged for them to go to a secret CIA base.

The medical facilities there were impressive. Both Charles and Erik regained consciousness in less than a night.

It's important to note that as soon as Charles woke up, he noticed Fang Mo nearby.

And Fang Mo was holding a stick stained with blood.

This sight scared Charles, and he instinctively wanted to use his powers. But Raven quickly stopped him and explained the situation.

After Raven's explanation, Charles started to calm down.

In reality, he couldn't afford to stay agitated given the circumstances. Fang Mo had incredibly strong psychic powers.

Charles had never encountered someone with such powerful and sensitive psychic abilities before. Even if he tried his best to control Fang Mo, it would take a long time, during which Fang Mo could easily knock him unconscious with the stick.

But compared to this mentally powerful person...

The person lying in the nearby hospital bed, 'Erik,' seemed much more ordinary.

After briefly probing Erik's thoughts, Charles realized that Erik also had his sights set on Sebastian. An idea started to form in his mind.
