Chapter 27 What's Wrong with My Baby?

Emma's POV

Doctor Thomas approached me with a concerned expression. "The red spot looks rather suspicious. Is it a birthmark?" she inquired, her gaze focused on the mark behind my ear.

Shaking my head, I replied, "No, it just appeared one day. I noticed it in the mirror, but it never caused any discomfort or seemed out of the ordinary. Over time, I simply forgot about it."

Although I reassured her, Doctor Thomas maintained a worrisome look. Alex, too, grew concerned, his eyebrows furrowing. "Why do you seem so worried? Could there be something wrong?"

The doctor explained her concerns, saying, "I can't be certain, but to err on the side of caution, I'd like to run some tests on your blood."

Fear instantly gripped my heart at her words, but I knew it was necessary. Nodding fervently, I answered, "Please, do whatever it takes. I just want to ensure the safety of my baby."
