Superhumans?

"What the hell." Jianyu says blankly. He had crawled out from underneath the rubble, and came face to face with a man dressed up in a Superman knock-off outfit. The man had immediately spotted him, panicking as he tried to pull Jianyu out from underneath the rubble.

"Guys, I found him! The director's over here!" the man shouts, making Jianyu cringe at how loud the man's voice is. "Here, Sir, if you would just hold onto me so I can pull you out." The man offers Jianyu his hand, which he takes albeit reluctantly.

'System, what's happening right now?' Jianyu asked the system through his thoughts, waiting impatiently for a reply.

[Host, you have entered a world similar to your own, except humans have developed superhuman abilities, such as pyrokinesis, flight, or telekinesis.]

'Superhuman abilities as in Superman?'

[Affirmative.]

"Cool," Jianyu mutters, to which the man who is supporting Jianyu turns towards him.

"Did you say something, Director?"

"No, nothing," Jianyu replies, shaking his head.

Eventually, Jianyu and the weird man arrive in a clearing with helicopters and other people dressed in spandex, and Jianyu swears he hears the system snicker at that.

"Director!" Jianyu is immediately tackled by a young girl, making him stumble until the man supporting him helps him stand up straight.

"Lillya!" the man exclaims, prying the girl off of Jianyu. "The director may be injured, so don't come and tackle him!" The man glares down at the girl, Lillya, who then pouts and reluctantly lets go of Jianyu's torso.

"I checked, and he's not injured…" the girl whines, crossing her arms. "He's perfectly fine. The director is not made of glass." At this, the man sighs, before turning to Jianyu and apologizing.

"Sorry Director, Lillya still doesn't understand this field of work very well."

"Says who!" Lillya says, kicking the man's leg. He doesn't flinch, but glares down at the girl until she relents and walks away, sulking.

"What did you just say to Lillya, Ben?" a woman stepped forwards, dressed more formally than most of the people in the clearing.

'So the man's name is Ben,' Jianyu thought, watching as the two of them interact, before they finally realize that a possibly-injured Jianyu is still waiting to be given a check-up.

"Sorry Director, I'll get the medics to check up on you now," Ben said, stalking off towards some distant ambulance cars. On the other hand, the woman stays, offering Jianyu her shoulder so he could lean on it for support.

"No thank you, I'm fine as is," Jianyu politely declines, following Ben instead, and walks away from the woman as quickly as possible.

'System, you better tell me what the hell is going on before I rip your stupid digital head off,' Jianyu hisses in his mind. He feels beyond tired after his whole death and reincarnation, and his brain can't handle any more stimulation. If it did, he's sure he'll break into hysterics and grab whatever weapon he can find and start swinging.

[My apologies, Host. I will send you the information now.]

A wave of memories are immediately stuffed into Jianyu's head, and a throbbing headache takes hold of him. He stumbles as he reaches the ambulance nearest to him, and is immediately caught by a worried Ben who had rushed to his side.

"Sir, are you alright?"

"Fine, fine," Jianyu quickly waves him off, silently gritting his teeth through the pain. Quickly poring over the information, Jianyu finds that yes, this new world he just entered holds a lot of similarities to his original world. Minus the superpowers, of course. And apparently, the body he just recently possessed is that of a young man who has the same name as him, and also owns a hero corporation--and a very famous one, too. It seems like the original body's owner had inherited it from his parents, who also had it passed down from theirs.

Jianyu's head suddenly starts throbbing again, but worse as the pain pulses through his skull. He feels Ben's worried stares, but can't care less and sets himself down on the bed in the ambulance.

[It is recommended for the Host to look over the information in small chunks so as to not cause any pain.] Jianyu grits his teeth at the delayed information, and feels the headache worsen.

'Could've told me sooner.' The system seems to shrug, unbothered by Jianyu's suffering. 'Useless system.' The system then seems to take offense at this, beeping loudly in Jianyu's head.

"Jesus, I got it!" Jianyu yells, frustrated, earning him the concerned look of the EMT standing near him. And in a softer voice, "never knew you could be so sensitive." The noise in his head seems to stop, albeit reluctantly, and Jianyu is finally given some peace and quiet as the ambulance doors click shut and they start their journey to what he presumes is the hospital. On the way, Jianyu starts to look over the information System 250 had given him, cringing when he reads over the original body owner's memories.

'System, why does the body I possessed have such a depressing backstory?' Jianyu complains, watching through a mental feed as the body's original owner's parents died in a car crash with little Jianyu in the backseat.

[Apologies, but System 250 is not equipped with information to answer your question.] Jianyu rolls his eyes, and continues to sift through the memories, finding the day when the original owner of the body first inherited the company.

[System 250, however, does know that Host's first world is designed to be easy to fit into and understand. Host Jianyu should be able to adapt quickly from what System 250 has seen.] At this, Jianyu pauses, turning to the blank pink screen.

"You what? Seen?"

[System 250 does not understand your question, Host.] Jianyu gives up, slumping into the surprisingly comfortable ambulance bed.

"Nevermind." Again, the EMT beside Jianyu looks at him weirdly, and Jianyu wants to take his own head and bash it against the wall.

'F*ck.'
