A Stupid Decision

The girl got out of the VRB suit, placing the mask on her desk as she sat in her chair.

She flicked on her monitor and logged onto Pootoob, resting her head on her hand.

There in her recommendations were different videos focused around the same idol: Eco.

A fancam, an interview, a compilation... Everything.

'I love Eco so much.'

Light entered the girl's eyes as a smile stretched across her face.

A man's laughter emitted from the screen, and after a few minutes of watching the video, the girl hung her head, sighing to herself.

She let the video play:

"What things do you like Eco?"

"Ah... Well,"

Eco paused, seeming to think to himself.

"I love animals—the World really."

The girl's eyes widened, and she lifted her head up to look at the screen.

"But most of all, I love my fans!"

Tears began rolling down her face.

'He loves the World ...Like my username!'

Jumping out of her chair and around her room, she started squealing silently to herself. Until after a few minutes, she started realizing what she was doing.

'He... He was talking about the world as in planet. Not you, idiot.'

Disappointed, the girl sat in her chair once more feeling defeated. She rested her head in her hands, coverings her eyes with her hands.

Beep!

She glanced over to her phone, picking it up.

'Maybe someone texted me.'

"Well, that's all from today's show! Anything left to say, Eco?"

"I love you my fans! Remember to stay happy and fed!"

The video ended.

Forawhile, the girl stared at her homescreen, not saying a word.

'I wish... I wish someone loved me like that.'

'Does no one wanna say they love me?'

'Does no one wanna check that I'm fed or not?'

3:34 am

Frowning, she swiped open her phone and hovered over the call button of the contact:

'Dad,

Are you happier without me?'

The girl pressed her forehead to her phone for a few minutes before getting up out of her seat and looking around her apartment.

Dreary light from streetlights came through her curtains. Her bed was a mess. There were tissues on the floor. Her trash hadn't been emptied.

'If I disappeared, no one would care that I'm gone.'

She closed her eyes tightly, inhaling.

'If I died, no one would care.'

She felt tears begin to fall onto her face.

'No one cares about me—how I'm doing—how I'm feeling.

Not my friends... Not Eco... Not even my dad.'

'That day, I made a stupid decision.

I deleted all my contacts.

I quit my job.

...I grew tired of life, and now, I just devote my entirity to Live Line.

Until I die.'
