Chapter 20: Reality of this world
"Please help us."
The women were asking for help from them.
Two guys attempt to attack them with metal pipes from behind their backs, but both of them immediately sidestep, and they take out their knives.
"Ugh..."
Both the goons got stabbed in their stomachs and fell. After that, the other three goons try to rush them with their melee weapons.
Anik and Ace didn't want to shoot the guns and make noises, so they decided to face them head-on.
The two try to attack Ace first and the boss guy, Drake, rushes towards Anik.
"Why do you have to come back so fast?"
Drake said to Anik angrily while attacking him with a butcher knife.
*Clank*clank*
"Well to kill you, dumbass."
Anik said to Drake while dodging and blocking his attack. He also saw that Ace was having a hard time beating them. Since they are full adults.
Anik immediately ran towards Ace while Drake tried to stop him, but he couldn't.
After reaching Ace, one of the goons tries to attack him with his metal pipe but Anik dodges it and punches him in the face in a counterattack.
The person lost his balance and fell while the other was alone fighting Ace, which was getting harder for him. Then he got stabbed in the chest.
[Anik from the back]
Anik dodged whatever was coming his way.
Drake nearly cut off his head.
"Ace finishes the man who's getting up from the ground, until then I will handle the big guy."
Anik said to Ace while positioning himself against Drake.
Both Drake and Anik rush towards each other.
*Clank*clank*clank*
Both were dodging and blocking each other blows and when Drake tried to wide slash Anik. He ducks down and tries to wide sweep Drake's leg, but Drake sees that coming and jumps up.
In mid-air, Drake positions himself to attack Anik with his knife straight down while Anik is still crouching.
*Clank*
But Anik was able to block that attack but couldn't deflect it and the knives were grinding into each other. Drake was attempting to press the knife towards him and Anik was struggling to push the weight of the full man but could only hold on.
*Bam*
Out of nowhere, Ace dropkick Drake in the head and Drake fell to the side. Then Ace helped Anik get up.
"Let's finish him together?"
Ace said to Anik. Then He just smiled and nodded.
Drake tries to get up from the ground but immediately is kicked in the head by Anik.
Drake fell again but then immediately got up and tried to punch them.
But Anik and Ace duck down to dodge it and cut his legs on each side with their knives while crouching. However, Drake still stood up and tried to punch Ace, but he punched his knife and his hand split into two.
"Ugh…ahhhh"
*Thud*
Drake screamed while holding his hand and instantly Anik stabbed his knife straight into his neck from the back. After falling to the ground, he died facing the ground.
"Is everyone fine?"
Anik said to the survivors while stabbing every goon in their neck. The survivors just nodded nervously.
"Don't worry now. Tomorrow our military will come to save you, so until then, hold on."
Anik said to them.
After both Anik and Ace went to the roof and after one hour they saw the team waving at them to come towards the jeep. Next, they jump down the building and go towards the jeep.
Luna saw blood in their clothes.
"Did you kill them?"
Luna asked both of them.
"Yes, The five guys were getting physical with other family men and workers to get what they wanted, so we had to step in and kill them."
Anik said to Luna.
"So, how many zombies did you kill while we were there?"
Ace asked Luna.
"There were not many zombies because this area is farthest to the city and most of the zombies are in the center of the city. So, it was easy to kill zombies."
Luna said to Ace.
"Ok, now hoop on, we are going back to the camp."
Holden said to Anik and Ace.
After they get in the jeep.
"So, tomorrow the second team is gonna come and rescue and get the resources ."
Anik said to Luna.
"We have to come too because the resources are too much for just the second team to carry to the camp plus the survivors. We need to be there for their protection while they load the resources in the trucks."
Luna said to Anik.
"And we don't know when a zombie or human can appear, so we need to be there ."
Holden also said.
'Aafia how much time until my next upgrade comes?'
Anik said in his mind.
[Two weeks until you get your upgrade.]
'Can you now tell me what can be upgraded besides increasing slots in my inventory.'
Anik said to Aafia.
[Well, you can put your stuff in the inventory if it is not used or destroyed after you take it out of the inventory. You can throw away your stuff into nothingness that you pull out of the inventory after you use it, so others don't get suspicious of you.]
'That's a pretty good upgrade. So, in two weeks I will get my upgrade and also be able to add five more slots, which leaves six slots to add things.'
Anik said to himself.
"Hey, Jonathan, do you know anything about this jeep."
Anik asked Jonathan.
"Of course, I know cars or four-wheelers I am the man you are looking for."
Jonathan said to Anik.
"This jeep is a military-grade jeep which is called Gladiator XMT. The XMT is fitted with massive BFF Goodrich tires, two 4 × 4 systems, locking differentials, skid plates, and tow hooks.
It has a 54-degree approach angle and a 30-degree departure angle, making this concept truck even more off-road capable than the already off-road capable Gladiator on which it's based.
This type of jeep can be fitted with either petrol or diesel engines. This badly is fitted with a diesel engine. "

Anik thanked him and again started to think about what things to keep in his inventory while keeping an eye on the surroundings with the others.
After reaching the front gate of the camp, the usual happened, then Luna and Holden went to meet General Liam for tomorrow's mission, leaving Ace, Jonathan and Anik alone.
"Let's go to the ration area. I am getting hungry."
Jonathan said to them.
Ace and Anik also nodded. All three go to the ration distribution area.
'I think for now I will put an M4,…'
