"Uh-" Cleo had been about to reveal that they were, in fact, not safe considering the large monster could easily destroy the house from the outside but alas he was interrupted.
Within the house, the knight barged into for safety- was considerably small yet compared to his apartment in real life it wasn't. The kitchen, dining room, and living room were combined into one larger room providing a space Cleo regarded as luxury with two other doors most definitely leading to the bedrooms.
"Who are you?"
Cleo and the knight simultaneously looked in the direction of the voice being greeted by a young teenage girl holding her hand out in protection of an old man. She had shoulder-length dark brown hair, slightly tan skin, and black eyes staring at them full of hostility. Under that hostility, Cleo could see a hint of fear.
The knight raised his protected arms in surrender in an attempt to show they weren't in any harm whilst Cleo copied his movement.
"We're not here to hurt you. We are taking shelter from the monster." The knight informed them. "I apologize for trespassing but I had to get this kid-" he waved towards me. "-to safety."
(Haha, I bet everyone will continue to treat you like a child and it's funny! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ)
'No, it is not.' Cleo flinched as the picture of consciously being threatened like a child formed in his mind. He was never a child nor had he been treated like one when he was thus the idea of being treated like so was something he did not want. In this case, he didn't want to but the situation didn't really call for it either.
The teenage girl observed the knight cautiously a few more moments before relaxing. She nodded her head, "Alright Mr. Village Knight. My name is Ellayne and this is my grandfather Landan." She introduced herself, including the older man who smiled kindly.
Clearing his throat, the knight bowed in greeting. "Thank you for your cooperation. I'm Private Fion of the Village Knights and this here is…" Looking at me, he paused, providing me an opportunity to speak.
(Finally.)
"I'm Cleo. Now that introductions are done and over with, I'm gonna leave."
(Pffft. (>ᴗ•))
Birth of Heroes was merely a game whilst he was a player. These people were only simple scripted NPCs that so far have not provided him his first quest - so it was obvious he must go look somewhere else.
Mere seconds after he introduced himself and before Fion could speak a word he began to walk toward the entrance of the house he was stopped. A white box framed in gold lining filled with black text appeared before him immediately capturing his attention.
{ UNABLE TO LEAVE THE TUTORIAL }
(Ah, so this whole thing was indeed the tutorial.)
(How we're we supposed to know that!? This stupid game didn't even give us any information! Hmph. (¬_¬))
Eyes slipping closed he took a deep breath to calm the growing annoyance. When he felt sufficiently calm enough he turned around with a bright - totally fake smile - and said, "Nevermind."
Fion chuckled. "Good, kid, I was about to stop you but-"
The ground beneath all of their feet began to shake an indescribable amount causing them all to fall harshly onto the wooden floors. Cleo looked up at the door the knight him and barged through feeling a bit relieved to see that it currently was closed but if the ground shaking was any indication-
The Bull Orc was right outside.
"Shh!" he could hear Fion quietly emphasizing to be silent to which they all followed. The entire experience was nerve-wracking Cleo opted to request they label this game with 'horror'.
(Ah! We need a weapon, we need a shield! No no no. We need...uh...to-)
(How about run?)
(Yes! That! We need to run!)
"Well considering how the Bull Orc is right outside the door most likely It would not be the smartest decision." Cleo stared at the front door unblinking as if he was only waiting for the moment the front of the house would be utterly destroyed.
(Oh….you're right! Haha\(٥⁀▽⁀ )/)
"Pst. Cleo!"
Slowly, as though he was afraid even turning his head would make the smallest of noises, he met the eyes of Fion who was crouching closely to him with Landan and Ellayne behind him.
"Landan said there was a backdoor. Let's go before that thing crushes the house right on top of us!" Fion shouted quietly full of enthusiasm before turning around letting Landon direct all of us out. The back door tucked away in what Cleo thought to be Landon's bedroom - considering the lack of any girl items. Though in itself it was weird, however, he chalked it up to the minds of the people behind the game.
Wasn't the weirdest thing they've done.
Reaching for the door, Landan swiftly turned the doorknob and pulled the door open. But what greeted them was not at all what any of them were expecting.
Rather than it be an open escape out of the sight if the Bull Orc we met beady glowing red eyes full of rage and blood lust.
Ellayne screamed out in fear and fell backward seemingly triggering the Bull Orc that had not moved a step. An ear-piercing roar was released and the walls around them descended into a broken mess.
"Ellayne!" Landan's shout was full of pain.

Off somewhere within the bordering outskirts of Wildburg stood a towering dark castle. Death surrounded the place like a mist, unable to let a single lick of life anywhere close to it, closing off its residents from everything else.
Clicking of heels, echoed upon the walls of the castle amongst a hallway devoid of any decoration. Just as the outside was completely lifeless the inside was the exact same.
"My Queen."
The clicking of heels halted engulfing the hallway in silence for a long moment. Once the silence seemed adequate enough a feminine voice, sharp and defined, replied. "Report."
"It is as you have predicted. The person you have put your faith into has arrived."
Humming happily, "Good. That means this long overdue game can finally begin." and then as though she had never hummed happily in the first place her voice turned to its sharp and elegant shape. "Remember to not interfere. The person that holds my faith holds no remembrance of anything, you understand?"
"Understood, My Queen."
All that could be heard after was the return of the clicking of heels and a whoosh of magic.
