Maniverse 20 - Earth 1KN - Multiverse - Universe X111, an unidentified object made its way into that universe, specifically Earth 1KN. Upon entering Earth's atmosphere, it was struck by lightning, creating a tremendous shockwave that reverberated globally, affecting almost everything and almost everyone in its vicinity.

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., during the night, a scientist named Karl Ken was working in his lab. Karl, who had reached the final stage of cancer, was conducting experiments on himself in a desperate attempt to find a cure. His most trusted colleagues, Julie Amber (a female scientist, doctor, researcher, and Karl's lover) and Tom Wilson (a forensic scientist and Karl's best friend), were by his side, providing support and encouragement. They shared the hope that one day they would discover a breakthrough.

Karl Ken was a brilliant scientist who had always aspired to make the world a better place by eliminating deadly diseases and viruses. He possessed qualities of selflessness, righteousness, and courage, never giving up even in the face of danger and impending death.

"Darn it!" Karl yelled, striking his desk in frustration, capturing everyone's attention in the room. Some of his colleagues whispered among themselves, expressing concerns about his relentless pursuit of a cure. Others criticized him, believing he should take a break and enjoy life while he still could. One scientist commented to another, "Karl works tirelessly, but he should consider his own well-being too."

"He's so consumed with saving humanity from known viruses that he doesn't even care about his own life. Karl is a selfless man; I've never seen anyone more concerned about others than themselves," whispered another scientist to a group of colleagues.

"What does he think he is, a miracle worker? He may be brilliant, but even intelligence has its limits. Karl is foolish for not focusing on himself more. Now he only has a few weeks to live, and all that he has accomplished will be lost. What a shame. With all his wisdom, he couldn't save himself," whispered a scientist to another.

Just then, Julie Amber approached Karl and gently took his hand, looking into his eyes with a mix of compassion and determination. "No matter what, my love, we're in this together, and we will find a way. We always do."

Karl nodded, finding solace in Julie's words. After a moment of contemplation, some of his colleagues decided to call it a day and left the lab, leaving only Karl, Julie, and Tom behind. Feeling restless, Karl stepped outside to get some fresh air and calm his worries. Unsettled, he reached into his lab coat, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and began to smoke.

"What is life to me when all hope is lost?" he thought to himself. As he smoked in the inclement weather, he observed the dark clouds swirling with thunder and lightning, accompanied by a raging wind. Suddenly, Karl felt a shockwave pass through him. Looking up, he noticed a glowing object hurtling toward him from the sky at tremendous speed. Before he could react, a tiny piece of the glowing rock struck Karl's chest, piercing deep into his heart.

Agony and excruciating pain surged through Karl's body, prompting Julie and Tom to rush outside upon hearing his screams. They found him lying unconscious on the ground.

"Oh my gosh! Karl!" Julie yelled, rushing to his side with Tom's assistance. Together, they carried him back into the facility, where they worked quickly to save his life. Karl was bleeding profusely, and his condition was rapidly deteriorating.

Their medical team operated on him urgently, attempting to remove the glowing fragment embedded in his heart, but it remained firmly lodged. Karl's vital signs began to falter, with his blood pressure dropping rapidly and his breathing becoming labored. Tom hurried to administer oxygen, but despite their best efforts, Karl's condition worsened, and he died on the operating table.

The shock of Karl's sudden death overwhelmed Julie and Tom. Julie couldn't contain her tears, while Tom stood in stunned silence. In the midst of their despair, something unexpected occurred. The glowing rock fragment dissolved within Karl's heart, initiating a process of miraculous healing. Karl's vital signs on the monitors began to stabilize, astonishing Julie and Tom. They were witnessing Karl's resurrection right before their eyes. Julie embraced him tightly and showered him with affectionate kisses, overwhelmed with joy. Tom, too, was astounded by this incredible turn of events and was overjoyed to see his best friend alive again.

After the euphoria of Karl's return to life subsided, they conducted further tests and made astonishing discoveries. Karl's cancer had vanished completely, and he was restored to full health. Moreover, when Julie attempted to take another blood sample, the needle couldn't penetrate Karl's skin. This peculiar observation caught their attention.

"That's strange!" Julie exclaimed, with Tom also marveling at the unusual occurrence.

"Wow! Unbelievable," Tom replied, awestruck.

Even Karl himself was taken aback by these newfound abilities. They conducted further tests, this time focusing on Karl's physical attributes without resorting to DNA samples. To their amazement, Karl displayed remarkable reflexes and agility.

"It seems the glowing fragment that penetrated your skin and heart has brought about these changes, Karl," Julie remarked, as she opened Karl's chest for him to witness his fully healed body in the mirror, devoid of any scars.

"How do you feel?" Tom asked Karl.

"I feel better, I feel...different," replied Karl.

"Perhaps we need to observe any further changes and see what happens next," suggested Julie. "But for now, let's wrap things up and call it a day."

"Agreed!" Tom said. "I'm feeling rather fatigued."

Karl and Julie expressed their gratitude to Tom for his invaluable assistance as he headed home, while Karl and Julie departed together. In the following days, Karl began to notice additional changes in his body, which he promptly informed Julie and Tom about. This revelation was extraordinary, and they decided to keep it a secret from their colleagues for the time being.

One day in the lab, Julie was astonished to witness Karl's extraordinary readings, surpassing those of an average human. Not only was Karl displaying an exceptional physique, but he also possessed the ability to effortlessly lift heavy objects that no ordinary human could manage, even with the aid of advanced machinery.

"Oh my God!" Tom exclaimed, awestruck. "You're like a Superman—a superior type of human being representing a new stage of human development—an übermensch, an overman."

"Tom is right," Julie agreed, turning to Karl. "You now possess extraordinary and seemingly superhuman powers."

"What else can you do, my love?" Julie asked, filled with curiosity. "We need to understand the full extent of your newfound capabilities. The strange glowing rock fragment not only healed your cancer but also exponentially enhanced your biology."

As the days passed, Julie, Tom, and Karl continued to explore Karl's expanding set of abilities. Karl could react and run at incredible speeds, faster than the human eye could process. He could withstand any damages thrown at him during their experimental observations and tests, and he exhibited remarkable resistance to extreme temperatures. Karl also possessed incredible vision, capable of seeing through objects and people.

"This is amazing!" exclaimed Tom, brimming with excitement. "My bestie is a superhuman."

As the years went by, their world underwent a significant transformation. Others who had been affected by the shockwave began to realize they too possessed extraordinary abilities. This new era heralded the rise of the superhumans.

Two years later, in a publishing media house, a group of reporters gathered as their CEO addressed them regarding the emergence of these superhumans.

"Freaks, miscreants, deviants, menaces, mutants, metahumans, super freaks!" the CEO exclaimed. "Call them what you want, but they are terrorizing this city. They are not like you and me; they possess powers beyond the ordinary. I need a cover page for this article—'Superhumans Terrorizing Our World'—a headline that will capture the fear gripping our citizens."

Suddenly, a female reporter captured the attention of everyone in the board meeting as she mentioned other heroic individuals who were fighting to protect the innocent. She spoke of a speedster named Fax4ward, The Hunter, an expert archer capable of shooting any type of arrow, an alien from Mars who had arrived to safeguard Earth from impending doom, an artificial intelligence named Ultra HAI representing the fusion of human and artificial intelligence, a female alien possessing telepathic and telekinetic powers over both living and non-living things, a mysterious flying man donning the symbol "H" on his chest, and lastly, a enigmatic masked figure dressed as a bat, known as the Bat God. The Bat God was said to be inspired by mythologies such as the Popol Vuh and Camazotz, representing bat-like spirits associated with the night, death, and sacrifice. Other superhumans and strange gods from alternate dimensions or realms also aided their universe, but only a few were mentioned, including Leutogi, a Polynesian goddess associated with bats, fertility, and the night; and Evaki/Ewaki, the Brazilian goddess of night, sleep, dreams, and day, sometimes depicted as a bat.

"Alright, people, get to work," said the CEO, dismissing the board meeting.

Meanwhile, at the lab where Karl, Julie, and Tom worked, Karl had become well-versed in his abilities, using them to save lives. They formed a secret team of superheroes, utilizing their skills and intelligence to help protect humanity. They proved to be a formidable team.

Karl Ken had mastered his abilities, which included super strength, super speed, flight, endurance, longevity, agility, reflexes, durability, gastrokinesis, prokinesis, enhanced senses (super hearing, taste, smell, touch/feeling, and vision in various forms such as thermal, electromagnetic spectrum, microscopic, submicroscopic, X-ray, telescopic, infrared), cryo-breath, pyrokinesis breath, aerokinesis breath, invulnerability, and expertise in hand-to-hand combat.

"You're a superhero now, Karl, and you need a code name that will inspire hope in people. The news is already abuzz with stories of you and other heroes saving the world," said Tom.

Suddenly, Julie brought their attention to her findings regarding the aftermath of the global weather disturbance that occurred on the day Karl was struck by the strange glowing rock.

"It seems this tragic global event didn't just affect Karl but the entire world," Julie explained. "And based on my observations, I don't believe the strange object was the only thing that made its way to Earth." She revealed another object similar to the one that granted Karl his abilities, explaining that when he was exposed to it, he exhibited a vulnerability to its effects. Julie and Tom had managed to secure the object temporarily and ensured that Karl was alright after he briefly passed out.

The team now faced the task of uncovering the truth behind these objects and their connection to the world-altering events. As they discussed the implications, a portal materialized behind them, catching their attention. They turned to witness a being emerging from the portal—an individual they recognized from news reports and magazines—an extraordinary speedster known as Fax4ward.

Fax4ward arrived with grave news from the future, specifically to warn Karl Ken, known in this timeline as HyperMan, about an imminent threat that posed a danger to their universe and all of creation. Fax4ward addressed Karl by his superhero name, emphasizing his role as a symbol of hope and salvation for all.

"I am Henry O'Hare, a speedster from the future," Fax4ward revealed. "You, Karl Ken, are HyperMan in this timeline. The fate of the world, the entire creation, hinges on your swift action and the formation of an alliance with other heroes. I have encountered speedsters from different worlds beyond our own, beyond our multiverse, and beyond our maniverse."

"It is time, HyperMan. It is time to form the Avengers of Justice. The destiny of this universe lies in the hands of the heroes of this present timeline, particularly in yours, Karl Ken. There is little time left. You must embrace your role; it is who you are and always will be... HyperMan."

With that, Fax4ward disappeared before their very eyes, leaving Karl, Julie, and Tom in awe and contemplating the weight of their newfound responsibility and where their ultimate fate would lead them.
