Jiro politely thanked a young woman at the cash register as he purchased groceries from his neighborhood kiosk. He noted how the woman's expression shifted to anxiety as she saw his amputated little finger and inked wrist.

The man wished her a good day despite her uncertainty and headed back to the penthouse to escape prying eyes. He had entered the store as an average person, but the fear of everyone around him made him feel like an outcast.

Jiro recalled his notorious past as a yakuza member - a life of crime he had chosen for himself.

He thought about the darkness inside him, which once drove him to commit horrific crimes and take part in yakuza's cruel activities - he remembered some of the people he had hurt, the lives he had destroyed, and the pain he had caused.
