Chapter 34. A very punchable face.

Alex studied Wu Lina's outstretched hand, which bore the gleaming pill, with a measured gaze.

After a moment's consideration, he calmly rebuffed her offer, stating, "I don't need it, I've already taken one."

Even to his untrained eye, he could tell that the pill Wu Lina offered was superior in quality to the one he had taken earlier.

It was an unspoken rule that inner-sect disciples like Wu Lina had access to higher-grade resources compared to those available to outer-sect disciples like himself.

However, despite the obvious benefits of the more potent pill, he chose not to accept it.

The disrespect with which Wu Lina had presented it left a sour taste in his mouth.

Furthermore, he reasoned that the difference in healing potential between the two pills would be marginal, not justifying the affront to his dignity.
