However, the price of this elixir was so high that Alex, a former military man with no family or savings, could not afford it. His life became even more miserable as he was treated like trash by those around him.

His miserable existence continued until one fateful night when he met his demise due to unforeseen circumstances. 

When he awakened, he found himself in another world, inhabiting the body of a young man named Li Wei. Just when he thought the surprises were over, a notification appeared:

A self-satisfied smile spread across Alex's face after he heard the system's message.

He bent over to retrieve the spatial ring on Grandpa Li's finger.

However, he paused, hesitating to pick it up. After a moment of contemplation, he decided to leave it untouched.

Straightening up again, he ruthlessly stomped on Grandpa Li's head until it turned into a bloody pulp.

He repeated this gruesome act with the other two, including the one he had knocked out earlier.

Originally, he had kept the knocked-out man alive in case Grandpa Li's answers didn't satisfy him.

But now that he got what he needed, there was no reason to spare him.

Just as he finished turning their heads into gore, he heard footsteps approaching.

The sound of the previous fight must have attracted others.

With no time to lose, Alex activated his shadow step skill, using its stealth and speed to make a quick escape.
