Chapter 109. Xiao Se's death.

When Alex caught sight of the descending arc of Xiao Se's sword, he dared not risk a confrontation. Instead, with agility, he shifted his footing, deftly sidestepping the threatening slash.

Once Xiao Se's sword reached its intended destination, it found only space where Alex had been standing just a moment ago. The lack of a target did not soften the sword's impact. It crashed into the ground with such force that it shattered the earth beneath, reducing it to a scattering of tiny debris.

"Darn it!" Alex grumbled under his breath as Xiao Se was swift to follow his initial attack with a diagonal slash. His weapon sliced through the air, aiming directly at Alex.

In response, Alex flexed at the waist, leaning backward, his upper body swaying like a reed in the wind. This swift movement allowed him to narrowly avoid Xiao Se's sword, which missed his face by a mere whisker.
