Chapter 49: Ancient City

A group consisting of Yukari, Tiamat, and Yumi could be seen in the distance, making their way towards an ancient city. Tiamat suggested, "Should we disguise ourselves, Yuki?" Yukari pondered for a moment but dismissed the idea, saying, "We are planning to lure them out and launch a sneak attack. With my Senrigan, I can see everything. It's best for them to leave the dimension they're hiding in."

As they approached the city gates, several carriages passed by, but the attention of onlookers was immediately drawn to the trio due to their unmatched beauty.

Yukari noticed that one of the carriages was slowing down and about to come to a halt. She signaled to Tiamat and Yumi, and the three of them casually walked towards the carriage. Upon reaching it, they realized that it belonged to a wealthy merchant who was traveling.

The intrigued merchant asked, "Would you three beauties like a ride?" Yukari, not bothering to respond verbally, swiftly placed the merchant under a genjutsu and took control of him.

Together, Yukari, Tiamat, and Yumi joined the wealthy merchant in his carriage and continued their journey towards the city. Yukari, who had placed the merchant under a genjutsu, thought to herself, 'Maybe the merchant guild will provide us with valuable information.'

"This merchant is headed to the merchant guild. Apparently, any information can be acquired there for a fee," Yukari informed her companions.

The trio marveled at the beauty of the carriage as it rolled through the bustling streets of the city. The structures around them were adorned with intricate designs and vibrant colors, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Shops and vendors lined the streets, offering a variety of goods ranging from fine silk to aromatic spices.

They observed the wealthy merchants and nobles being attended to by elegantly dressed servants, a clear indication of the city's prosperity. But their attention was immediately drawn to the floating island hovering over the city center, which belonged to the prestigious Soaring Heaven Sect, known as the most powerful sect across all continents. The island boasted several grand and imposing structures, showcasing the wealth and might of the sect.

Among these structures, a majestic pagoda with multiple levels and intricately carved pillars stood tallest, capturing their gaze. The other buildings were equally impressive, with sweeping roofs and

intricate details that demanded attention.

"We've arrived," the merchant announced, bringing the carriage to a stop in front of an opulent structure adorned with intricate carvings on its multiple floors. "Looks like the merchant guild," Tia observed.

As the trio entered the building, all eyes turned to them, sensing the distinctive aura they emanated. Their cold demeanor and palpable power set them apart from the rest. The receptionist, Jing Xia, greeted them with a polite smile. "Good day and welcome to the merchant guild. My name is Jing Xia."

"We wish to purchase information at any cost. We require an audience with the guild leader," Yukari stated in a distant tone. Jing Xia, taking note of their presence, recognized that it was rare for someone to request a meeting with the guild leader. She decided to proceed with caution, not wanting to offend them, as she had encountered arrogant individuals during her time as a receptionist.

"I understand your request. I will fetch him right away. Please take these tokens and proceed to the top floor," Jing Xia responded, handing them tokens as a symbol of their access.

Observing the trio as they departed, Jing Xia understood that it would be unwise to underestimate them. Their luxurious attire and commanding aura distinguished them from typical young masters, and she made sure not to provoke or offend them.

"You really scared the little girl," Tia said as they made their way to the top floor. "Mou, she was just too taken with my beauty," Yukari replied narcissistically, causing Tia to roll her eyes. "Don't you always have to make everything about your beauty?" she teased. Yukari simply smirked in response.

Upon reaching the top floor, they were greeted by an employee who bowed deeply. "Welcome, distinguished guests. The boss is looking forward to seeing you," he said, motioning for them to follow him down a grand hallway.

As they walked, Yukari's attention was drawn to an old man sitting on one of the luxurious couches. With a friendly smile on his face, the man caught her interest, and she couldn't help but approach him. "Hello there," she greeted him with a smile. The old man's smile widened, and he greeted her warmly.

"Greetings, esteemed guest. My name is Ghu Xin, and I heard from my employee that you want to buy information," the elderly man introduced himself, maintaining a friendly yet professional demeanor. "Yes, we would like to buy information. I was wondering how many years of information you have collected," Yukari inquired.

"Well, normally you'd have to buy that, but my family has been running this guild for nearly a thousand years," the man replied. Yukari was pleased to hear this and activated her Byakugan, causing her eyes to turn paler and the veins around her eyes to become visible.

Using a genjutsu, she delved into the man's memories, while Tia and Yumi didn't pay much attention to her actions. "Let's go, I've got everything I need, and I tampered with his memories so we can leave safely," Yukari informed the others. Tia questioned, "I assumed you'd use your Human Path on him?" to which Yukari explained, "I could have, but killing him is too troublesome. Based on the information I have gathered, these Otsutsuki members are going to be annoying."

Leaving the guild, they decided to dine at a high-end restaurant. Yumi pointed to the bustling establishment and asked, "Mommy, are we going to try the food here?" The restaurant was filled with nobles who exuded arrogance, as if they believed themselves to be at the top of the food chain. Yukari scoffed at their demeanor, finding their arrogance irritating despite their small stature.

"I can't stand their faces; they're looking at us like hungry wolves," Tia muttered, her eyes narrowing. She contemplated scaring them and channeled her aura, causing an illusionary dragon to materialize behind her, towering over the arrogant individuals. Passersby who happened to glance in their direction would witness the massive creature, a warning of Tia's power.

Those who caught sight of the illusion were filled with fear and some even visibly panicked. They all looked liked they pissed themselves from fear. Yukari laughed at Tia's antics, while Yumi remained unfazed, solely focused on the food before her. "Good job, Tia," Yukari exclaimed, acknowledging her display of power.
