DUNGEON EXPEDITION (THIRD FLOOR)

The group had arrived at floor three. Within this floor was a forest however this was no ordinary forest. It was a peculiar scene as the trees surrounding the group that spanned as far as the eye could see had a red trunk and blue leaves, this was a huge difference from the ones they were used to on earth, this was also the first floor of the dungeon that didn't look like a place on Earth. John lay weakened and unconscious on the ground as the group prepared for a swarm but no such thing happened, unlike the first two floors this floor didn't have beasts rushing forward to their deaths at the hands of the students. The group didn't make any moves that would attract the attention of any hostile beasts as they hoped that John would wake up soon.

The group formed a small protective circle around John and patiently waited, which was a lot harder than they thought. The creatures, whatever they were, were not rushing at the teens like they expected, this led to a constant feeling of paranoia as they knew they couldn't let down their guard for even a minute. After five solid minutes, the leaves on one of the nearby trees rustled, this captured the attention of the entire group allowing for a sneak attack from behind. Out of the forest cover came three beasts. They were totally black, even their eyes and teeth were pure black. They looked like tigers with only two differences, at the center of their chests, origin cores could be seen and behind them were two tails each. The attack was quick, the group didn't even know what happened, two of the Tigers attacked and killed the rest of Pedro's pets while the third one made a mad dash towards John's unconscious body. The dying screeches of Pedro's pets is what alerted them to the attack at which point the group immediately forgot why the circle was formed and all four of them went to deal with the Tigers. The odds were in their favor until Coby had a bad feeling and turned around only to see two more jump from the tree that rustled. Acting on pure instinct alone, Coby stretched his right arm forward in a helpless attempt to save John, his domain element then reacted to his predicament as a large liquid purple poison arm appeared and crashed into the two tigers shoving them back into the tree they just exited, breaking the tree then going on to flood nearby trees in the substance causing them to wither immediately. From the withering trees, multiple black blurs escaped and rehid themselves within other nearby trees. The realization then dawned on Coby that these were slightly more intelligent beasts possibly of an intermediate grade.

"Guys, they're dangerous, be careful." Coby warned.

Upon turning around he realized that the others were already done with the original three.

"What do you mean, other than managing to kill the centipedes, these things are pretty harmless and very easy to kill." Jake stated.

From the way the creatures were killed it was clear that Jake was the main contributor to their deaths. The group returned to formation as peace returned to the forest. This peace was short lived however when from multiple trees, dark black energy beams started assaulting the group at random intervals. Pedro and Coby were helpless to the assault. After the elongated battle in floor two and the stunt he pulled not too long ago he was fresh out of energy and couldn't do anything, Pedro's domain was useless for situations like this especially with his pets dead. This inspired Jake to reuse his failed skill string dome thinking he could redeem it. Things didn't go as expected however when the black beams just seamlessly fazed through the borders of the dome and continued on to hit the group members. The beams dealt next to no physical damage but the group experienced an intense burning sensation within their body and with every hit their bodies felt and became weakened. Before long the entire group fell on the ground unable to move from the overwhelming feeling of weakness and pain. This encouraged the Tigers to jump down from the trees as they slowly approached the group prepared to feast. There were around thirty of the beasts when suddenly a bright light enveloped the group and they were teleported out of the dungeon and into the infirmary at the school C platform where they could see other students were already there while others were still in the dungeons. They had failed their dungeon raid and came out with only two hundred origin cores as the dragons didn't have one. They then gave up ten percent of it and rested in the infirmary for the rest of the day as the rest of the students were teleported to the infirmary.

The teleporters had two end locations from the dungeon, the infirmary for those who almost died or had their lives in danger and the area they entered the dungeon from. All students in the infirmary were given words of encouragement as the personnel knew all too well that the students felt as if they failed their first ever actual test which they would have used to impress the military. After the day's rest the students were allowed to go to their homes and told to practice and grow stronger for the next dungeon raid. John however stayed in the infirmary along with a few heavily injured students as John hadn't woken up. The military had great healing personnel that guaranteed no casualties for as long as the students got there in time which was the case with dungeon raids. This ensured that students would feel safer doing their own training raids and hone in their strengths.

Sorry for not posting for a long time, I had to go to boarding school and right now we are on vacation. I have solidified my works into two books that I'll keep working on until further notice. They are this book and 101 Special Apparitions. I also had some ideas while in school so you might notice a few changes to the book in coming chapters. Please don't forget to vote for this book and thank you so much for reading
