"Haaaaaaa It's finally over; my exams are over. Hahahaha, it looks like I've done it. 10th grade ain't shit."

"Calm down, bro, you've not got your results yet. How are you sure you're going to pass?"

"Hehe, cuz I'm literally hi-"

"You're not him, Nova; you said you didn't even study for the exams. Why are you so sure you're going to pass?"

"Aaron, you have to calm down, bruh."

"Yeah, sure, this has nothing to do with me. Anyway,  I'm heading home. See you soon."

"Yep, we will meet soon. Bye."

"Sure, catch up later, I guess."

"Yep, bye, Aaron."

Then both Aaron and Nova went their separate ways to reach home.

...

"I'm home"

*...*

"Huuu, it looks like nobody's home today."

"Yo Nova"

"Huh, Rowan, is that you?"

"YES, Nova, it's me, Rowan."

"Wait, I don't believe it. When did you come home?"

"Uhhhh, I literally told you like 2 days ago.

"Row, you know I was busy with my exams, but since that's over, I'm going to go chill and play some games. You wanna join?"

"Na, bruh, I'm going to meet up with my old friends and go on a trip."

"Ohhhhh, are you leaving today?"

"Yeah, but I'll be back three days from now."

"Ok, but when is she coming back?"

'Mom's going to be back by seven, so you still have time to chill. Don't do anything dumb before she comes back."

"I know, I know."

"...."

"Ok, I'm going to go now, have fun."

"Ok, bye; have a safe journey."

"Bye..."

"Nova, don't forget to lock the door."

"Aye sir"

Thus, the hallway was enveloped in silence. A faint footstep of mine reached the corner of the house. Heading upstairs to my room, I saw my brother's room and entered it.

As I opened the door, I felt a gush of wind, which made me look around the room only to see the windows open.

"Row never leaves the windows open; oh well, he was in a rush anyway. He probably just forgot."

I closed the windows and then opened my brother's closet. I took a photo album and headed to my room.

"Thud"

Something fell into the closet.

"What did I drop this time? I hope it's not broken so I won't get nagged when he comes back."

As I opened the closet, I saw a small box on the ground.

"What's this?"

As I picked up the box, I felt a weird feeling like someone was watching me. As I brought it closer to my face, the weird feeling got more intense, so I stopped myself and put the box back in its place.

W'hat a weird-looking box? I better put this back in place."

As I was going to place the box back in its place, something fell downstairs.

*Thud*

"Anybody home?"

It was my dad.

'Oh, it's just dad; I'm surprised he came back this quickly'

"Yeah, dad, I'm home."

As I was heading downstairs, the closet door opened by itself. Obviously, me being me, I didn't notice as I rushed downstairs.

"Oh, hey Nova, what are you doing?"

"Uhh, nothing; I just came back home from my exams."

"Oh right, How'd you do? I hope you did.

"Yes, dad, I did good."

"Ok, anyway, where's your mom?"

"I don't know. Probably at work. Since you're here, why don't you go take a rest until she returns?"

"Yeah, that, I can't."

"What do you mean you can't?"

"I'm leaving. I hate to do this, but I have to go."

"I'll talk to your mom about the way I'm going, but cheer up."

"What! How am I meant to cheer up when both you and Rowan left immediately? You guys came home."

"Ohhhhh, Rowan was home? Anyway, I got you this."

"What is this?"

'It looks just like the box Rowan had'

"What is this box, dad?'

"Huuuu, I can't tell you; check it out for yourself, ok?"

"Ok, dad, but at least, take a bath before you leave, you stink'

"I don't have enough time."

"Ok, I'll leave you be; do whatever you want."

'I need to look at the boxes in Rowan's room; why do they look so similar?'

"Ok, dad, bye, I guess."
