Synthex

There stood a man in the middle of my room.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?"

I shouted as I got into a boxing pose.

"Calm Down, I've just arrived here."

The man spoke as he examined me. He then went over to my chair and sat down.

"OK, first off who are you?"

I uttered but I didn't let my guard down.

"I am is Horton. Within the interest of Sir Viktor, I've come here. You must be conscious of who that is."

Horton asked me but I was still confused about what he was talking about.

"Not quite. I don't remember anyone named Viktor."

I spoke with Horton. I finally let loose as I walked over to my bed and sat on it.

"By Viktor, Do you mean the strongest nexus guard? Like the va.. van-"

"Vanguard. Yes, Sir Viktor has invited me to invite you to come to Synthex."

He spoke as he cut me off.

"Is there any purpose for my visit to Synthex? Is it just me? Who else will be visiting Synthex?"

"You ask a lot of questions. You and Aaron are invited."

He spoke.

"What about Annie?"

"Otto has already told us that he has taken Annie under his wing."

"I see. Anyway,  what's the reason for inviting me and Aaron?"

I asked him.

"Sir Viktor personally wants to train you and Aaron. There is no bigger achievement than getting trained by him."

"I see, and what if I refuse?"

I teased him. But he was not bothered by my actions.

"It's your loss, but if I were in your place, I wouldn't give up on such an offer."

I nodded to his statement but I had still not given up on pestering him.

"If he's so keen on training us, why didn't he visit me himself?"

"He's not as free as you think."

He raised his voice to my rambling. A heavy pressure bore down in the room.

"Oufff, Ok, I'll go to Synthex."

I finally agreed. I had no reason to give this up."

"Alright. I'll now go talk with Aaron."

"Oh, right, for how long will I be gone? I don't want my parents to worry about my whereabouts."

"There's no reason to be concerned about it. Certain individuals can clone people.  You only need to focus on your training."

All my worries were dissipated with one sentence.

"Well, I'll return for you tomorrow. Don't worry, clones have already been sent."

"Ok, I'm ready."

I answered as Horton got up. He waved his hand and a portal showed up.

crack- crack-

"Be ready."

He said as he walked into it and disappeared. Later, the portal also closed.

Since Horton left I finally could sleep.

**

The next day, Aaron came to my house as we both were waiting for Horton to come get us.

"Are you sure about this?"

Aaron asked me.

"Yeah, I am very certain. I'm not going to pass up this opportunity. If  Kikei loses control, all of the powerful nexus guardians will be present."

"Yeah, you're right about that."

Aaron replied to me.

"Yeah, this is our chance to one-up Annie. She must have already gotten stronger by a lot."

I talked while looking out the window of my room. I noticed my mother walking inside my house.

'I suppose this is the last time I'll see her for a while.'

When I got up from my bed, I thought to myself.

"I'm going to talk to my mum. I'll return as soon as possible. OK?"

I spoke with Aaron as I got out of my room and went downstairs.

"Hey, mom. I just wanted to say I love you."

"What, why are you saying this so suddenly?"

She questioned as to what I had just stated.

"Nothing much, I just wanted to say that."

"Awww, Thanks, son. I love you too."

She said as she walked.

"Ok, Aaron's come over. I'm going to head back up again."

I said as I walked up to my room.

**

"Did you tell your sister about this, Aaron?"

I asked, and he nodded.

crack, crack, crack

A portal appeared in my bedroom. A black figure emerged from the portal.

"Good day, Nova... Aaron."

Horton waved with his hand.

"Are you guys ready?"

He asked, while we both just nodded.

"All right, let's go. Come with me."

Horton entered the portal. I locked my gaze on Aaron.

"What?"

"Nothing"

I said. That's when I entered the gateway. Everything went dark. I had felt as if I was unconscious. I was feeling nauseated. The scenery abruptly shifted.

"Wow"

I mumbled my thoughts out. We were on the crest of a hill. The scene was breathtaking.

"Welcome to Syntex."

From behind me, I heard a voice. I turned to see a massive metropolis.

"This is the most important kingdom. Where all of the previous ones lie."

Horton spoke out once more.

"Yeah? It's incredible."

Aaron spoke out; he was standing next to me.

"All right, we're off to Sir Viktor's immediately. Come with me."

When he plunged off the cliff, Horton spoke.

"Wait a minute-"

I exclaimed as I was about to jump off as well.

"No Stop. We're still humans. We are not nexus guards right now."

Aaron spoke as he gazed out the window at the city.

Woosh-

A burst of wind blasted past us.

"You're all right."

Horton talked to us as he pushed us both down the edge.

"What the fuck?"

At the top of my lungs, I yelled. I then realized I was floating in mid-air.

"How come?"

I was talking to myself.

"Because of Synthex's rich, pure soul emission, you may now soar. You appear to have mastered the art of flight."

When he soared passed me, Horton chuckled. Aaron trailed following him.

"These twins are far too intelligent."

"What exactly did you say?"

"I told you you were too darn clever."

I was following both of them.

A massive mansion soon appeared in our vision.

"Wow, that's massive."

Aaron replied as we flew closer to the mansion.

"Horton. Sir Viktor, what are you meant to be for?"

When I drew closer to him, I asked him.

"I work as his right-hand man. Alternatively, the vice-captain for the whole nexus guards."

"What? Why didn't you inform us, Sir?"

Aaron screamed in panic. I also nodded.

"Oh, now you know."

"Sir, yes."

This time, I spoke with dignity. I knew he was strong, but I didn't anticipate him to be vice leader.

Sir Horton flew right by us and landed. He approached a guard. We landed carefully and followed him.

"How come there are so many guards? Isn't Sir Viktor the most powerful?"

As we continued to pursue Sir Horton, I asked.

"This isn't Sir Viktor's mansion; it belongs to the nobility. It's merely that Viktor is training the noble's daughter. She wants to be a guard. She has the most potential of everyone in Synthex."

He said this when we reached a room with a massive door. we entered the room and kept on walking.

"Mr. Horton, Sir Viktor isn't a nobleman, is he?"

Aaron inquired as he surveyed the home. It contained a wide range of items.

"Viktor is, indeed, a noble. Because nobility aren't as greedy, they all get along."

Sir Horton addressed Aaron's concerns.

"Wait a minute, sir, if Synthex is a place for the dead. Why are aristocracy and hierarchy still present?"

I asked about him.

"Everyone who dies begins their life over from the moment they were born. Yet, growing takes a long period. For example, I'm 23 years old in human years, but according to Synthex, I'm roughly 375 years old."

"So, basically, everyone goes about their lives, except at Synthex."

I inquired about it once more.

"Yes, even if we don't recall our previous life."

Sir Horton spoke as he approached an open garden.

"Viktor, I've returned with them."

Sir Horton spoke aloud as he gazed at a specific man with a girl close to him.

"Thank you so much, Horton. Welcome, young people."

Someone spoke up. It was amusing considering the man himself appeared to be 25.

"Good day, sir."

Aaron stated this while kneeling.

"Oh, Sure. Good day, Sir."

I also repeated while kneeling.

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Viktor Stormblade. And I presume you guys are Aaron and Nova."

"Yes sir."

I spoke while looking down.

"Why are you guys so damn shy?"

The girl next to Sir Viktor spoke out. I stood up and turned to face the girl. Aaron stood up as well.

"Wow, you're stunning,"

I said.

"I agree."

Aaron responded.

"tsk."

The girl turned away while blushing.

"Isn't that daring? Rowan's brother, as predicted."

Sir Viktor spoke to me while looking at me.

"I guess you could say it runs in the family."

As I glanced at him, I chuckled. I wasn't shocked when he mentioned Rowan.

"Oi, you. Is there anything unique about you?"

Sir Viktor inquired of Aaron.

"Well, I'm not sure. But one thing is certain: I'm better than Nova."

Sir Viktor received a response from Aaron.

"Speak for yourself."

I shouted.

"Hahaha, What a funny bunch, from now on, I'll be sending you guys to an academy. I hope you're aware of this."

Sir Viktor talked to us while looking at us.

"Huh, What academy? Nobody told me about this academy."

"Haha. I'm joking, Although it is an option."

Sir Viktor spoke as he looked at us.

"Oh by the way. Do you mind if we call you master?"

I asked him.

"Just call me Viktor. I don't enjoy being referred to as a master or a teacher since I'm not that old. Well, not old enough to be referred to as master."

Viktor murmured as he drew the girl closer to us.

"Please introduce yourself. She will now be a member of your squad."

Viktor pulled the girl in our direction.

"Hello, my name is Elle Stern. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Do you have a Band-Aid?"

"Huh?"

She spoke out. Aaron gazed at me with a shocked expression. He seemed to anticipate what I was about to say.

"I fell for you and scratched my knee."

"What? Is that a pick-up line you just told me?"

She inquired.

"Ye-."

Before I had a chance to answer. Aaron covered my lips.

"Um, Yeah. Hey, my name is Aaron, and this is Nova. Don't worry about him. He's a little dim."

"No, it's not a problem. I'm not bothered."

Elle spoke while looking at me.

"Nova, you're hilarious. Even your brother isn't this audacious. That appeals to me."

Viktor spoke while smirking slightly.

"Thanks, I guess. Well, what do we do now?"

"You guys can roll your names up for the academy or just train with her. Elle goes to this place as well. You guys can learn about soul emanation, Synthex, and Senexus. You guys will take part in many competitions."

Horton spoke from the sidelines. I thought he had left, but I guess he can keep his presence very low.

"What about training by Viktor?"

Aaron asked as he looked at Horton.

"I will train you guys every day, no matter what. After all, time goes the same way as Earth. Day and night. So you guys will train with me once you're done with your school thing."

Viktor spoke as he scratched his head.

"Well, when does this school end?"

Aaron asked again as he looked at Viktor.

"You guys can get the information from Elle. But just so you guys know, you'll be under my wing, no matter what. I have the maximum authority in the school. I can borrow you guys whenever I want. So there is no need to worry."

Viktor just dropped a bombshell on us. Although he seems stupid and dumb, he is still the strongest and has the highest authority over anyone in the kingdom.

"Oh yeah, just so you know. Rowan also studied at this school."

Horton spoke.

"Rowan studied here? When?"

I asked him.

"Right, clones."

Aaron pocketed my arm as he told me about it. It made sense that all we were seeing before were his clones.

"Ok, I'm ready. But where do we stay?"

Aaron asked Elle.

"Well, in the school dorms."

She answered him.

Clang-

The door that connected the garden and the house opened as a man ran towards us.

"Sir Horton, Sir Viktor He has returned. We need you guys."

The man spoke.

"Alright, Magnus. Ok, Guys. We'll head out. Ask Elle anything. She's more than capable of giving it to you guys."

"Thank you, sir."

Both me and Aaron bowed and thanked Viktor at the same time.

"See you guys."

WOOSH-

All of them suddenly disappeared.

"So, what do we do now?"

I spoke, breaking the silence.

"Follow me."

Elle spoke as she walked towards the door.
