Chapter 14: The battle of York begins.

.Somewhere in the Surburbs of York. 8 am the next day.

Alex Goliath, 19-year-old centre back playing for York City football club. This is his home, a small family house in an English suburb.

He jogs down the steps, walking to a table with breakfast where his father, a 61 year old man sits on the table. Drinking coffee.

"So you are going to training. That is good." Goliath Sr said as Alex sat down to eat.

"Yeah, I'm pro now. Gotta get that energy." Alex replied, stuffing his face with toast.

"The team that contacted us a couple weeks ago. Supa Strikas, seems like their fourtunes are quite wild. They just lost To Gladiators 5-0 a couple days ago." Goliath Sr said, as he read a newspaper.

"Yeah, I saw. We play them next so if the Gladiators can do that. Wonder what we can do." Alex said as he contin‐ued to eat.

"Your brother called to say he is going to be in town for your match against them on Saturday. He hopes to see you there."

"Damm idiot. He should just stay in London and wallow in self-pity playing for that useless club. Imagine being the continent's top scorer whilst playing for that club." Alex said, seemingly angry.

"Still carrying grudges huh. Harry has his own goals in life. Plus you are one to talk. You have rejected every club that's come for you and deciding to stay in York. The loyalty you have for York is the same he has for them." Goliath Sr said as Alex began to walk away.

"Whatever old man. I'm going to training don't wait up for me. I have plans tonight." Alex said, picking up a bag and walking out of the house. Supa Strikas Training Camp.

"OK boys today will be light training. and tomorrow I'm giving you all the day off to relax. If you wanna go partying, better check out the pubs today because I want everyone rested and ready for Satuday's game." Spenza said as ev‐eryone had gathered around him.

"This seems like a good chance to check out some of those famous English honies everyone talks about. Wanna go to a pub with me boys." Arthur said, grabbing Zuko and Mateo.

"Sure, I guess." Mateo replied.

"Yeah I'm game. Only if Andile is there "Zuko said as the three starred at Andile.

"OK, sure. But I don't drink guys." Andile replied.

"Oi, Dame, Davids. You coming." Arthur said looking at Dame and Ryan Davids. "Yeah, sure." Dame replied.

"OK, I guess." Ryan also replied.

Later that day.

At a random pub in YORK. 20h00.

Alex is sitting inside the pub with three other teammates and a bunch of girls as some are drinking whilst Alex seems to be drinking some juice.

"So like I was saying. My brother is a douchebag. But if you ladies can give me and my friends your numbers here. We can score you some all access tickets to the match and introduce you all to him." Alex said, smooth talking the girls.

"Is it right though to use a douchebag to get some random girl's numbers?" One of the girls said, responding to Alex.

"Perks of the business. If his name is big enough to score me a girl as fine as you. The I'll use every single name in his ID book." Alex said as they were interrupted by the sudden entry of the Supa Strika's players. Who went and sat on a table on the opposite side of the room.

"Ain't that Meteo Garcia. The Barka star. And Zuko Skhosana ooh such a hubby." One of the fgirls with Alex said, looking at the boys with desire.

"Yeah. They are playing for Supa Strikas now. If I'm not wrong, the others are Ryan Davids and Andile Manzuel, the son of Invincible United Legend Skarra. He is as hot as his dad I tell you that." Another one of the ladies said as one of the York players who was with Alex stood up and walked towards the Supa Strikas as Alex and the rest followed.

"Yo, guys look whose coming over here. York city players. Jack Gillimore, Oliver Smith, Phil Johnson and Alex Goliath. Gillimore seems angry though." Arthur said as Gillimore walked over to them with a beer bottle and smashed it on the table they were sitting on.

"You scum better get the fuck out of here, this ain't no strikaland you ugly bastards." Gillimore said in a fit of rage as Alex and the rest tried to hold him back as the Supa Strikas players all stood up accept Mateo who did not even turn around and just continued to drink a whisky.

"Look guys. He is just drunk just continue what you were doing and we will go back to our table." Alex said, pulling Gillimore back.

"Fuck no! These brats think they are better than us. Look at that Barka Brat not even looking at us. I'm gonna punch that idiot." Gillimore said, wrestling out of Alex's clutches and standing behind Meteo, who simply turned around, looked at Gillimore from top to bottom and turned back into his seat and continued drinking.

"Look man. We can leave. It's your area we are just travellers here. Guys let's go." Andile said, as Mateo also stood up and starred down Gillimore.

"You are right. Wish I could punch this idiot right now. But I win my battles on the field." Mateo said as he and every‐one began to walk out.

"Then punch me coward." Gillimore said as Alex and the others kept holding him back.

"I can't punch something so below me. That would be like punching trash would it not?" Mateo said as Gillimore seemed to lose all rationale then.

"The only person who has a face I can possibly hope to punch is that random holding you back. Alex was his name I think. And he still has to prove that punching him is actually worth it on Saturday. But I doubt it." Mateo said walk‐ing out along with everyone.

"Arthur just find us another good pub around here." Zuko said as they all walked down the street.

-Inside the pub-

Everything has calm down a bit with Gillimore now stable. But everyone seemed to notice the ridiculously huge smile on Alex's face that had been there since Mateo left.

"Alex, what's got you so fired up?" Oliver asked, seemingly spooked.

"Well boys. I think satuday is actually going go be interesting. Can't wait to prove to that sucker why I'm the very best Defender in the world." Alex said, looking at Gillimore.

"Also, Jack. The coach will know about this." Alex said as they walked back to their table.

"That was interesting. Mateo, do you know that Gillimore creep?" Arthur asked as they walked down the quiet road. "Yeah, that dude acted like you were only rivals or something. Like he had a bone to pick specifically with you." Ryan said.

"I don't know. I can't remember the fave of every nobody I meet. Probably just a spiteful fanboy. I have a lot of those." Mateo said, laughing as they walked away
