Heading back towards the village, there were no players currently fighting the level 3 monsters. Previously, Su Mu had cleared his way from the outside, but now that he had reached level 4, he could easily avoid the level 3 Fangtooth Boars.
"Let's hurry and level up! If we kill a few more boars, we can all reach level 2 and start taking on level 3 monsters!"
"Mages are really strong. Look at how efficient our leveling is!"
"It's just that mana regeneration is too slow. Otherwise, we could level up even faster!"
"Don't complain. With this efficiency, we've already surpassed billions of people!"
Just as Su Mu entered the level 2 monster area, he heard some discussions. The people who had invited him before were sitting on the ground, obviously recovering their mana.
"It's you?"
"Why aren't you dead?"
Several people looked at Su Mu with surprised expressions. In their eyes, it was impossible for him to come out so boldly from the level 3 monster area.
Su Mu ignored them and continued walking towards the village without looking back.
"Damn, this guy is too arrogant, isn't he?"
"I bet he was hiding somewhere, waiting for us to clear the nearby level 2 monsters before daring to come out."
"Yeah, otherwise, he would just be giving himself away in front of those monsters all alone!"
"We helped him, but he didn't even say thank you. Instead, he's putting on this arrogant expression. What kind of person is he?"
The group couldn't help but murmur among themselves.
"Alright, everyone, keep killing monsters. We just need a few more to reach level 2, and then we can all focus on increasing our intelligence. That way, we can go kill level 3 monsters."
The leader of the group interrupted their discussion and stood up first. This level 2 area wasn't just occupied by their team. However, the other mage teams in the vicinity had an unspoken agreement, each staying within their designated area to kill monsters.
Everyone knew that when the players from the level 1 area arrived, the situation here would become extremely challenging. They had to seize every second and get ahead of others to enter the level 3 monster area.
...
"It's so crowded!"
Outside the village, Su Mu shook his head as he looked at the crowd fighting over monsters. Those who could snatch a monster in this kind of environment were definitely formidable.
"Fortunately, I don't have to compete with them for monsters."
With Captain of the Guards maintaining order, the crowded environment in the village greatly improved, and Su Mu easily walked back to the village.
"Adventurer, please wait!" Captain of the Guards suddenly stopped him.
"What's the matter?" Su Mu raised an eyebrow and asked.
"I sense something from you. Did you see a white wolf in the forest?" the Captain of the Guards inquired.
"Yes!" Su Mu nodded.
"Deep within the forest, there is a White Wolf King. It's blocking the road from the village to the town. We need to defeat it to open up that pathway," the Captain of the Guards continued.
"White Wolf King BOSS?" Su Mu narrowed his eyes. Judging from the way the Captain of the Guards spoke, that White Wolf King was likely the final boss of the beginner village. Did that mean they wanted him to take down the White Wolf King?
The Captain of the Guards seemed to sense Su Mu's concern and quickly spoke up, "Don't misunderstand. With your current strength, you wouldn't even be able to set foot in the deep forest, let alone face the White Wolf King."
"Um, then what do you want me to do?"
"I want you to bring back the fur of a White Wolf cub."
As the Captain of the Guards spoke, a quest option appeared before Su Mu.
[Do you accept the Captain of the Guards' commission? (Reward: 1 gold coin, Captain of the Guards' Iron Sword (E-grade))]
"I accept!"
Since Su Mu had planned to deal with the White Wolf cub anyway, he promptly accepted the quest.
"However, it won't be easy for you to deal with the White Wolf with your current strength. You can form a team or visit the profession instructors to learn skills and further enhance your abilities!"
After Su Mu accepted the quest, the Captain of the Guards offered some advice.
Su Mu nodded and was about to leave when he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
"Is it possible to learn skills here?"
The reason Su Mu paused was that he noticed the profession instructor designation above the Captain of the Guards.
He remembered that when he obtained the unlimited skill points, the prompt mentioned that he could learn any skill.
"I specialize in sword techniques. Are you sure you want to learn?"
The Captain of the Guards was taken aback for a moment.
"Absolutely!" Su Mu nodded decisively.
"Very well!"
As the Captain of the Guards spoke, two skills available for learning appeared before Su Mu.
One was the "Slash" skill, and the other was the "Charge" skill.
[You have learned the Slash skill. Cost: 1 gold coin]
[You have learned the Charge skill. Cost: 1 gold coin]
With his ample wealth, Su Mu accepted both skills without hesitation.
Two new skills appeared in his skill panel.
[Slash: Swing your weapon swiftly, delivering a slash to the front, causing 100% physical damage. Cooldown: 5s (0/5)]
[Charge: Rush quickly towards a target, stunning them for 0.1s. Cooldown: 10s (0/5)]
"These skills are amazing!"
Looking at these two skills that were characteristic of warriors, Su Mu suppressed the astonishment in his heart.
Although these skills were not particularly useful to him, the significance of successfully learning them was tremendous.
Every profession surely had unique passive skills. As long as he mastered those skills and raised them to the highest level...
Wouldn't he become a full-fledged mage?
"Farewell!"
Su Mu bid farewell to the Captain of the Guards and continued searching for other profession instructors in the village.
The village was large, with many areas and numerous NPCs with quest markers above their heads. However, most players didn't intend to accept quests.
One reason was that quests didn't yield much experience.
The other reason was that they weren't high enough level!
Su Mu walked into an armor shop, and a quest prompt appeared above the shopkeeper's head.
"Hello, adventurer! Do you happen to have enough wolf pelts? I can craft a wolfhide leather armor for you!" The shopkeeper was very enthusiastic.
Su Mu directly handed over the wolf pelts he had obtained.
[Congratulations on completing the quest "Wolf Fur"! You have received 1 gold coin and a Wolfhide Leather Armor (E-grade).]
[Wolfhide Leather Armor (E-grade): +5 Spirit, +5 Constitution, Equipment Level: Level 4]
"Great stuff!"
With the Wolfhide Leather Armor in hand, Su Mu didn't hesitate and immediately put it on.
After leaving the armor shop, not far away was a beautiful woman dressed as an archer, holding a bow and arrows.
"Hello, I want to learn skills!" Su Mu walked up briskly.
The woman glanced at Su Mu and spoke with some surprise, "Are you sure you want to learn archery skills?"
"Absolutely!" Su Mu affirmed.
In the next moment, two archer skills appeared before him.
"Um!"
Su Mu paused for a moment and chose not to learn them. Unlike other professions, archers required a bow and arrows.
Warriors could use a staff to charge and slash, but Su Mu couldn't shoot arrows with a staff, could he?
"Forget it, I'll learn something else. I'll wait until I have a bow and arrows for the passive skills!"
In the early stages, two gold coins were still very precious. Su Mu spoke to the NPC, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake!"
"If you want to learn magic skills, the Mage Instructor is in the room ahead!" The NPC didn't show any blame and pointed Su Mu in the right direction.
"Thank you!"
Su Mu politely responded and turned to walk towards that room.
He was extremely eager for his profession skills.
