Ding ding ding!
The sound of metal clashing echoed as arrows shot out from the relic, but the skilled cultivators swiftly deflected them, except for the unfortunate ones who were struck at the beginning. After all the arrows had been launched, the group cautiously proceeded into the relic, moving much slower than before, clearly filled with trepidation.
However, as they ventured deeper into the relic, no further attacks occurred. It seemed that the initial barrage was the only obstacle they faced.
"Boom!"
Just as the group entered the relic, a deep and heavy sound reverberated, and the previously opened doors suddenly closed shut. Everyone was taken aback, attempting to reopen the doors with all their strength, but to no avail. The doors remained immovable.
A sense of despair enveloped the hearts of the group as they realized there was no way back.
As the doors closed, darkness engulfed them, shrouding them in pitch black. They couldn't see their own hands in front of their faces.
"What is this place? Why is it so strange?" Yan Junze furrowed his brow, finding the situation inside the relic far beyond his expectations.
"I don't know. It's so pitch black that we can't even see the way. How are we supposed to proceed?" Xia Zhiqing added, having heard tales of ancient relics where anything could happen, but this current scene surpassed her imagination. Were they simply trapped inside?
Suddenly, golden rings of light appeared before them, revealing pathways leading deeper into the relic. Although the rings were surrounded by darkness, the group could discern the paths they illuminated.
"It seems we have to choose a path to proceed," Emperor Bei Chen remarked with a slight frown. At first glance, all the pathways appeared identical, devoid of any discernible differences.
Bai Li Hongzhuang nodded slightly. "Different paths may lead to different outcomes."
Only the owner of the relic knew the ultimate answer. If they chose incorrectly, they might be forever trapped within the relic, never to see sunlight again.
The cruelty of relics was well-known, as they held tremendous treasures and transformative legacies for those who succeeded. However, failure meant death.
Every time a relic was opened, numerous lives were lost, yet the allure of the legacies compelled cultivators to take the risk.
"With so many paths, how do we know which one to choose?" Bai Li Hongzhuang's phoenix eyes narrowed as she carefully examined the numerous pathways, searching for any distinctions and not leaving any clues unexplored.
"This relic must have been created by some twisted individual. These pathways have absolutely no differences whatsoever," Xiao Hei couldn't help but comment. After observing for a while, it found that the brightness of the light was the same in all the pathways. How were they supposed to choose?
"It seems we can only rely on luck," Xiao Bai also expressed helplessness. Those with sharp minds feared these types of luck-based choices the most.
After a moment of silence, some cultivators grew impatient and decided not to wait any longer. They randomly chose a pathway and walked into it.
"Forget it, let's just go in and figure it out!"
As the words fell, a cultivator had already entered the nearest pathway before them.
With this initial action, other cultivators, after pondering for a moment, followed suit and selected pathways to venture into, each one simply choosing a path without much consideration.
