Vol V Chapter 33-34

Ding!

The doorbell rang. I immediately perked up. After schooling my expression, I coughed dryly and opened the door.

It was Sun Dan. Her expression rapidly changed when she saw me with black stockings over my head.

" Come in!" I said hoarsely and pulled Sun Dan in.

"W-who are you?"

Sun Dan was clearly terrified. I closed the door and locked it from the inside.

I had not expected Sun Dan to be wearing a hat and sunglasses. She had taken every measure to cover herself up. I sneered.

"Hat and glasses off," I continued.

I was growling like sandpaper had been caught in my throat. I was afraid that she would catch on to any show of weakness. My heart was pounding in my ears.

"Okay! Okay!" Sun Dan quickly followed my instructions while trembling.

I took out my phone and snapped several sets of photos. When I was finally satisfied, I gestured to Sun Dan to get dressed and leave.

After making sure Sun Dan had driven away, I took off the black stockings from my head and quickly left the hotel.

I was extremely happy along the way. Sun Dan even messaged me on WeChat. She hoped that I wouldn't cause trouble for her. I assured her I wouldn't blackmail her, but she'd still have to pay the price if she didn't perform well.

When I got back home, it was already 9 o'clock in the evening.

"Brother Nan, you're back!" He Lulu greeted me with a smile.

"What are you doing?" I asked in surprise when I steam wafting from the kitchen.

He Lulu rubbed her hands together and blushed. "I thought you might be hungry when you came back tonight, so I made some dumplings."

Her words warmed my heart. Indeed, it had been hard work making Sun Dan cry and beg for mercy. I was quite hungry now.

"Lulu, you're so kind," I sincerely complimented her.

"Please sit here for a while. I'll bring the dumplings over to you," He Lulu motioned for me to sit on the living room sofa, then went into the kitchen to attend to the food.

I had not expected He Lulu to be such a good cook. Perhaps I was truly hungry, but I hadn't tasted such delicious dumplings in a long time. After two large bowls, I was extremely content. He Lulu began to wash up and finally sat beside me.

"He Lulu, Fang Fang is on her honeymoon in Malaysia. The scenery there is so beautiful," He Lulu said longingly.

"We can go there in the future if the chance comes up," I replied with a smile.

"Really?" He Lulu grabbed my arm.

"Of course! Why would I lie to you?" I playfully scratched He Lulu's nose.

"Yes, yes, I'm looking forward to it. I need to get my passport made first. It'll be more convenient that way," He Lulu nodded enthusiastically.

It warmed my heart even more to see how easy it was to please her. When I thought about Fang Fang and my cousin going on a honeymoon, it reminded me of my own plans for a honeymoon in the past. Sadly, my wife it due to work.

"He Lulu, I've already taken a shower. Do you want to take a shower too?" He Lulu changed the topic.

At that moment, I realized it was already past 10 o'clock at night. If I didn't go to bed now, it would be a bit late.

"Sure, I'll go freshen up," I quickly got up.

Tonight, He Lulu was wearing cute pajamas, and she looked like a little girl. Just the thought of cuddling with her later made me look forward to it.

I took a hot shower in the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I took a deep breath before walking out.

I had prepared the spare bedroom for He Lulu, but when I returned to my room, I found He Lulu waiting there.

"He Lulu, do you want to sleep with me tonight?" I smiled at He Lulu.

"I do, but not on this bed," He Lulu pouted, looking at me.

As soon as she said this, I understood what she meant.

Yes, this bed was the one where my wife and I spent our first night as newlyweds. Since He Lulu didn't want to sleep on it, it could not be helped.

"Alright, then I'll sleep in the bedroom with you," I laughed.

"Yes, yes," He Lulu nodded in agreement.

He Lulu and I were already so familiar with each other, and we had slept together before. In bed, we were so compatible with one another.

Unlike how it was for Sun Dan at the hotel, I treated He Lulu with tenderness and care while asking about her feelings. As we embraced each other's warmth, time passed slowly.

The next morning, He Lulu woke me up. She had already prepared a delicious breakfast.

After the meal, I took He Lulu to a nearby real estate agency to look at houses. Eventually, we decided to rent a one-bedroom apartment in a neighborhood near Meiluo City.

"Brother Nan, the rent here is quite expensive," He Lulu pouted, but I knew she was inwardly delighted.

With the commissions from the two projects in Hangzhou and Hainan, I had earned over 100,000 dollars. Although not a huge amount, it was enough to afford the rent of 40,000 to 50,000 dollars a year for this apartment. Moreover, I felt that He Lulu deserved it.

"Anything for you, as long as you can work here comfortably," I smiled.

"Brother Nan, I don't want others to call me a golddigger, so I'll pay you back the rent," He Lulu quickly said.

"It's up to you, but you have to treat me to a meal from your first month's salary," I said with a laugh.

The day was quite free except for an evening drinking party I had to attend. During the day, I helped He Lulu move into the new apartment, and we also went out to eat and watch a movie together. As the evening approached, I said goodbye to He Lulu.

I drove to Shangri-La Hotel while fully aware that Lan Xinmei and her colleagues from the Public Relations Department were treating Liu Yan's manager to dinner tonight. I was only there to show her moral support, but I couldn't be careless.

After parking my car in the hotel's lot and tidying my suit, I walked out.

As soon as I stepped out of the car, Lan Xinmei called me, saying she was waiting for me in the lobby.

Upon entering through the hotel's glass revolving door, I immediately spotted Lan Xinmei in the lobby.

Tonight, Lan Xinmei wore a blue professional suit. She was the head of the advertising department. She looked both professional and beautiful. When she saw me, she waved.

"Miss Lan, how's it going?" I quickly sat down on the sofa beside Lan Xinmei and asked.

"Miss Liu Yan's manager hasn't arrived yet. You can call her Miss Gao. All of Miss Liu Yan's activities have to go through her," Lan Xinmei quickly said.

"Got it," I nodded quickly. Tonight's event had been jointly organized by the advertising department and the public relations department. Although I was there as moral support, I still had to acknowledge the attendees.

"Mr. Yu from the public relations department is in the private room. He will be in charge of the negotiations tonight. The company is taking this endorsement seriously," Lan Xinmei continued.

"Why isn't Mr. Wang here?" I frowned.

He should be here as the company's top leader for such an important occasion, but I didn't see him.

"Mr. Wang and Miss Zhao took a plane to inspect a project in the afternoon. They asked us to keep the fort down here." Lan Xinmei smiled awkwardly.

Inspecting, my foot! They must be having a private meeting. What a pair of scumbags!

I sneered inwardly, but of course, I wouldn't voice these thoughts out loud. Lan Xinmei, as the manager of the advertising department, probably knew Mr. Wang's background to some extent. She was likely just pretending not to know.

Just as Lan Xinmei and I were chatting in the lobby, we noticed several figures walking towards us. Lan Xinmei stood up.

"Miss Lan, go out and welcome them. Miss Gao is not coming alone. tonight. Miss Liu Yan has opened up her schedule and will be coming to the hotel soon," Mr. Yu of the Advertising Department was in a hurry. He hurried to us with two young women by his side.

The hotel's security guards and lobby manager also seemed to have heard the news, as they were discussing something on their walkie-talkies.

"Mr. Lin, let's wait at the door," Lan Xinmei quickly said to me.
