"Save the last bullet for me" is the last line of the oath of the United Nations Strategic Security Department (UNSSD)‘s Special Operations, a phrase too familiar to Sean, officially designated Artemis 9, one of the members of Squad Artemis, elite supersoldiers that form the tip of the spear of the UNSSD--- that is, until his mistake caused the death of his teammate and he retired from service. Suddenly, he is given a second chance to re-enlist. Torn between his self-hate and the call of duty, will this jaded veteran fulfill the oath he had sworn?

Happy Year of the Snake to all. I want to share a few updates on this story.

Firstly, I apologise for all of my inconsistent updates over the 2 years this story has been posting, as a part time writer, I find it hard to keep a consistent update schedule.

Secondly, the reason for long hiatus from writing is because I had been extremely unhappy with how the story has been progressing, together with some things that happened to me in my real life, I had decided that this very first version of Save the Last Bullet for Me needs to be put in the firing range.

No, I am not ending the story of Sean and his comrades with an unfinished business. I want the world to see their lives, but not this current state.

Thus, I will be rebooting the series. Some world building will be changed, some content will be deleted, some characters will be reworked, and there will be new content as well. This new version of Arc 1 will follow the same rough plot progression, though massively condensed with a much quicker story pace.

Once that is done, we will jump straight to Arc 2, which will take place off world in the Alpha-Centauri system.

The new story is called "Save the Last Bullet for Me NEO", it will go live on January 31st with the first chapter. And, as my CNY resolution, I will keep a consistent update schedule of 2 chapters a week, on Friday and Saturday nights. Additional updates will be done when I am more free.
