Chapter 42: Establishment of Academy
According to Valerian kingdom historical calendar, Today is 7 April 1420. Its has been 3 month since Oliver arrive in this world. He got used to everything around him. He also started to change state of his barony with the help of information provided by AI chip. But still Oliver was not satisfied with his progress because there are lot of areas he still did not have time to touch. After working for 3 month continuously he realize that he can not do everything on his own. He needed a lot of skilled labor.
In his barony skilled worker are hard to find. even if you find them they do not possess the knowledge regarding modern chemistry, physics, mechanics, biology etc. Now Oliver is experiencing shortage of innovative and curious people around him. He also notice that his father is completely war headed person, at this point he is supporting him completely but what if war and economy clashes happens in future, his father will divert his all energy towards war for sure. therefore he will not be able to use his father trusted people to do his chores.
Because of all this reason Oliver decided to invest major part of his profit from his soap business towards establishment of Education institution. He Only know that Royal family have Royal Academy to which only noble can enroll. Commoner do not have any facility to learn new things, they will be doing the traditional things passed down from generation to generation. Although Valeria kingdom does not restrict commoner from learning anything but the financial condition of these peasant and commoner are very poor, they cannot even afford to eat 2 times meal with ease, how can they manage to learn reading and writing.
Upon careful consideration , Oliver decided to establish Academy for educating all walks of people. Structure of the academy will be like modern university in his previous life. Majorly he will be focusing on basic subjects first. To manage this smoothly he will invest 30000 gold coin, the profit obtain from merchant union. he will majorly establish department of physics, chemistry, Biology, law and civil engineering for construction majorly.
Admission criteria will be set by discussing with his father , brother and other trusted advisor. He will allow both female and male children. As he is from modern time, He knows the work efficiency brought by the female inclusion in work force. With the proposal he started walking towards his father study to have further discussion.

Soap factory as well as perfume production are working at its full speed. Before the auction to divide the region Oliver gave concession to merchant that they can sell soap and perfume to any region in any quantity. Also he introduce cheep soap with lower price of 1 silver coin for masses. because of this some merchant wanted to test the market, they buy this soap and put them on market in Carroway city, Capital city of valeria as well as in other region. Soap hit the market as earthqueck. Demand for soap has rapidly increase within 2 days. Just today merchant has place the order of total 300000 cheap soap. Perfume is also good for business but not as good as soap because it is only used by noble as it is costly. 300,000*1=3,000,000 silver coin. if converted in gold it will be 30,000 gold coin. Merchant get the profit of 50 bronze coin on each soap because of the membership discount. so there total profit will be 15000 gold coin. Merchant turn yellow, purple by looking by looking at this profit and this are just initial demand. There are other kingdoms and millions of masses living on this big continent. What if they can introduce cheep perfume also. All the merchant were laughing and smiling, They made the right decision by joining merchant union.
Due to the sudden increase in demand Oliver also step up the production capacity. He raise his capacity to 100000 soap per day. He recruited 5000 people for this. He will introduce some machinery to automate the task in later dates to cope up with the high demand. Oliver was also happy, first he is earning money which he needed right now, second he is employing his people so they will have money to spent on daily neccesity there life will improve. Market economy will also prosper because of sudden demand from people. All in all Oliver was feeling sense of accomplishment.

After reaching his father study, Oliver with knock, entered his father's study with a determined look on his face. He greeted his father, Lord Cedric, and his brother, Edmund, who were both present in the room. Taking a deep breath, he began to lay out his plans for establishing an academy in Carroway Barony .
"Father, Edmund, I have been contemplating the future of our barony, we don't have skilled worker which can help in growth of out barony. As you know noble's are to full of themselves they will not work for the growth of others unless they are paid with hefty sum of money. even if we pay them there no guarantee that we will get person with suitable skill. because of this I believe that establishing an academy is crucial for its growth and development, We can use our own population, enroll them in academy and teach them. with this we can have endless supply of workers, some off them can become expert also if groomed properly." Oliver started, his voice filled with enthusiasm. "With the profits we have gained from the merchant union, I propose investing 30,000 gold coins into the establishment of this academy."
Lord Cedric and Edmund exchanged glances, curious about Oliver's proposal. Lord Cedric gestured for him to continue, showing his interest.
Oliver continued, "The academy will follow the structure different from traditional one, we will offer education to people from all walks of life. We will focus on the foundational subjects first, such as modern physics, chemistry, biology, law , and civil engineering. I know you might be confused by listening to this subject name but trust me you will know the wonder of this subject in near future." Oliver explained, his eyes shining with excitement. "By providing quality education in these fields, we can foster innovation, research, and a skilled workforce that will contribute to the growth of our barony. Also we will provide this education for free to everyone. We will use our money to give them education and bound them to our barony."
Edmund leaned forward, his interest piqued. "But why is the establishment of an academy so important at this time , Oliver? As you know we are facing the crisis, we found war weapon in our barony few days back. In such situation is it good to establish academy and spent huge amount of money."
Oliver smiled, knowing that this was a question he had anticipated. "An academy will serve as the cornerstone of knowledge and enlightenment within our barony. It will provide opportunities for individuals to broaden their horizons, acquire valuable skills, and contribute to the development of our society. It will empower our people and cultivate a culture of learning, fostering intellectual growth and progress."
Oliver continue, " Brother I also formed the design of Military academy. there we can train generals, captain, skilled knight which can further strengthen our barony."
Lord Cedric nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Oliver, your vision for the academy is admirable. specially Military Academy, We are in need of such a institution. Education has the power to transform lives and shape the future. I support your endeavor and believe that it will be a significant asset to our barony."
Edmund nodded in agreement. "I concur, Oliver. Your plans align with our vision of progress and prosperity. The establishment of the academy will not only benefit our people but also elevate the status of Carroway Barony in the kingdom."
Oliver already knows that they will positive about Military Academy, He just said it to get approval to establish his Academic Academy. " Very well father I will make Academy in Northern part of our barony near city. Thanks for you support father."
Lord Cedric, " It is my duty to look after the progress of our barony Oliver. God has given me 2 sons , one is good in military other is good in economics. " He smile towards both of them. "Go do what you want , I will give you a free hand. "
With this Edmund and Oliver went outside and busied themselves with there own task.
