When I thought that he was going to leave us, he sighed and grabbed his seat again taking me by surprise.
A sudden rush of warmth filled my heart. It is for the very first time that he has listened to me.
There is definitely something big in between these people which I fail to see.
Even Grandpa, seemed hesitant to intervene. While I had no desire to pry into their personal affairs, the sight of Vincenzo's mother, wearing a smile that barely masked her sadness and helplessness, tugged at my heart.
Though I had never experienced the joy of being a parent, as an orphan, I understood the pain of being separated from one's family. I could only imagine the deep hurt Vincenzo's mother must be feeling, because of her son's distant and cold behavior. She tries to hide it with a wide, warm smile on her lips.
As the room grew heavy with unspoken tension, Kevin cleared his throat with a mischievous grin on his lips.
