Turning Tables

The island trembled under the impact of the colossal clash between Akashi and Suro, leaving the onlookers in sheer amazement. The sheer force and ferocity of their exchange transcended what one would expect of mere mortals; to the eyes of those who watched, they seemed more akin to titans or monsters from ancient lore than human beings.

In a moment of intense combat, Suro delivered a powerful knee to Akashi's stomach, expelling the air from his lungs with such force that Akashi was sent plummeting towards the ground like a meteor breaking through the atmosphere. The impact upon his landing was monumental, causing the earth itself to fracture, spreading a massive web-like crack from the point of collision. Amidst the dust and debris, Akashi lay in the crater formed by his fall, coughing slightly but laughing at the same time—a chilling testament to his resilience and the perverse joy he found in their battle.

"You really are something else, Suro" Akashi said, as he looked up at Suro he was still levitating giving him a god-like feeling.

Akashi got up, his arm hanging loosely for a moment. Suddenly, two black chains with a purple glow appeared, dangling from his arms. His eyes also glowed purple, showing he was ready for more. He pulled his arms back, making the chains stretch out, then grabbed them tightly. With a strong move, he threw the chains forward towards Suro, like swinging a fishing rod, sending the chains flying through the air at high speed.

As the chains raced towards him, Suro stood firm, his face stoic. Around him, a yellowish aura began to glow, enveloping him in its protective light. The chains, moving at high speed, made a loud clashing noise as they neared him. But as they touched Suro's aura, they started disintegrating, breaking apart continuously upon contact. Despite Akashi's powerful attack, Suro's aura acted as a shield, neutralizing the threat with apparent ease.

Akashi, taken aback by the unexpected outcome, quickly retracted the chains back to his hands. Upon closer examination, he observed a peculiar, acid-like reaction where the chains had made contact with Suro's aura. The surfaces of the chains showed signs of corrosion, as if they had been exposed to a potent substance that was eating away at their very essence. This unforeseen effect left Akashi puzzled, as he tried to understand the nature of Suro's protective aura and how it could so effectively counter his attack.

"What is this?" Akashi said amused.

"Just a little trick I picked up," Suro said. 

Suro's aura, which had been glowing around him, suddenly burst outward in a powerful explosion, unleashing strong gusts of wind directly at Akashi. The wind was so forceful that it engulfed Akashi, making it difficult for him to breathe and maintain his footing. Amidst the swirling chaos, Akashi began to feel an intense itching sensation spreading across his body. This discomfort quickly escalated as his skin began to peel off, reacting adversely to the potent energy emitted by Suro's aura. This unexpected turn of events revealed the depth of Suro's power, not only defensive but capable of launching a counterattack that could disorient and physically affect an opponent at such a visceral level.

"It's the same reaction as what happened to the chains, but it is slower," Akashi said.

Gathering his strength amidst the turmoil, Akashi launched another attack, this time catching Suro off guard. A chain shot out, swift and unexpected, wrapping around Suro's right arm. With a forceful yank, Akashi tightened the chain's grip, the metal biting into Suro's skin, drawing blood. This sudden maneuver not only caused physical harm but also shifted the momentum of their confrontation, demonstrating Akashi's resilience and determination to fight back despite the odds.

Liberated from the immediate effects of Suro's mythic aura, Akashi executed a swift and strategic move, reappearing behind Suro with alarming speed. Without hesitation, he delivered a precise and treacherous stab to Suro's back. The sudden betrayal of Akashi's blade piercing through caught Suro unawares, causing him to cough up blood as a sharp pain radiated from the wound. This act of aggression marked a critical and dramatic moment in their confrontation, underlining the intensity and unpredictability of their duel.

"I'll leave you so you can rest, and we can fight some more later. It's time to take out the small fries" Akashi said.

"Leave him alone!" Rita yelled as she was about to stab Akashi but he turned Suro towards her. Dropping her attack, she frowned at this act. 

"Coward!" Rita said. 

Akashi then appeared next to her, hitting her in the ribs.

"Who cares how you win as long as you do?" Akashi said smiling.
