Chapter 18 New Friends

Last night's party was not a happy one, but at least it ended in disharmony.

The only ones who had the most fun were the Geller brothers and sisters.

Jack returned the dinosaur suits early in the morning. After no longer clinging to the illusory title, he felt that his thoughts were much clearer.

In the taxi back to the cafe, Jack called Rose. He didn't plan to hold a party tonight. He planned to use the returned deposit to have a real meal with everyone.

"Jack... I love you..." Rose confessed affectionately on the phone. The corny words made Jack's hair stand on end. After agreeing on a time, he hung up the phone.

If it weren't for the bet with Monica, he estimated that no one would have thought of holding a farewell party for Rose.

I don't know what Rose's expression would be when she knew the truth.

The coffee shop was very quiet in the morning, with only a few office workers waiting for their refreshing coffee at the bar. Rachel also took a leave today to take care of her own "business", so there was only Gunther in the store.

After greeting Gunther, Jack asked him to bring a piece of paper and a pen and lie on the bar to write.

"Oh my god, last night's party was terrible..."

After finishing his work, Gunther complained to Jack across the bar.

Rose actually spent a whole night telling them about the evolution of Tyrannosaurus Rex.

"Such an opportunity is rare. Ross charges for teaching people..." Jack laughed. He only found out last night that the ancestor of Tyrannosaurus Rex was actually Eoraptor.

"If possible, I would rather give him the money to let me go..." Gunther was helpless.

Last night, a group of them had wanted to slip away a long time ago, but Ross, who was excited about the lecture, enforced discipline in front and Monica blocked the door behind.

They were forced to take a real-life lesson on the evolution of dinosaurs, and they had to "voluntarily" participate in Monica's boring dinosaur quiz after class.

With his head full of dinosaurs, Gunther couldn't wait to have fun at Jack's party tonight, and looked at him expectantly: "I know you won't let us down tonight..."

Jack raised the paper in his hand, blew the ink dry and handed it to Gunther, smiling: "I'm sorry, Gunther, I'm not going to have a party tonight..."

"What?"

This answer surprised Gunther.

Jack used to be the one who suggested starting a party when he bought a bottle of beer, but now he actually said such a thing, not to mention that he had a bet with Monica.

Could it be that... Jack has a better idea?

There was only a short sentence on the paper:

'I, Jack Morgan, will no longer be the king of the party from now on. '

Gunther rubbed his eyes and wondered if he had seen it wrong. Jack actually admitted defeat?

He hadn't even held a party yet. Was Monica's party last night such a big shock?

Or was Jack threatened?

Jack smiled and patted Gunther's shoulder: "Remember to post him, and thenAll of Monica's coffee expenses were added to my bill during this month. "

After saying that, Jack left the cafe, leaving Gunther with a look of astonishment.

Now he was going to do something he had decided a long time ago - buy a car.

In fact, he got his driver's license when he was 18 years old, but he himself was not very interested in cars, and he did not have much need for cars, so he never bought one.

After all, in the traffic-congested New York, driving is not as convenient as taking a helicopter.

It was also the last time he picked up Gina that made him realize that having a car would indeed be more convenient.

The taxi went straight to the used car market.

Jack wandered around the market aimlessly, trying to choose a more practical SUV, but when he passed a car dealership, a roar that seemed to come from hell entangled his feet.

His eyes were deeply attracted by the white beast placed in the middle of the car dealership.

"Honda NSX, VTEC engine, 3.2-liter turbocharged engine, maximum horsepower 290 horsepower, do you want to try it? "The boss covered in engine oil smiled at Jack, whose eyes were shining.

Jack didn't understand the professional terms the boss said at all, and he stroked the car body with some fascination.

"I want this car..."

Jack had completely forgotten the original purpose. It didn't matter whether it was practical or not. It was like a child who found his favorite toy. Now he was thinking about getting it.

The car dealer was a little stunned. He just said two words and bought the car without trying it?

Thinking that Jack was here to make trouble, the car dealer's face darkened. Just when he wanted to teach the young man a lesson, a card was thrown in his face.

.....

Rachel has been a bit distressed recently.

Caroline's discount coupons did bring her a lot of benefits, but since the coupons ran out, her income has plummeted.

However, she is now well-known in the Louis Vuitton counter. Many customers who have used her discount coupons to buy clothes will come to her and ask her to help choose clothes. For this reason, the store manager has set up a part-time job for her as a "fashion shopping guide".

Rachel still likes this part-time job. Her dream has always been to work in the fashion industry, and now she has half a foot in the entertainment industry.

She has considered whether to resign from Gunther.

"Rachel! There is a handsome guy looking for you! ! "

Rachel, who was holding the clothes and gesturing, was startled by the clerk's sudden shout. She quickly hung the clothes back on the hanger and answered, wondering who was looking for her.

Most of the customers who came to her were girls, and none of the few male customers were pleasing to her eyes.

"Hey sweetheart, it's lunch time..."

Seeing the blond bastard standing at the door with a smile on his face, Rachel was secretly happy in her heart, and took small steps to throw herself into his arms: "Why are you here?"

Jack rubbed Rachel's blond hair and smiled: "Don't you want to see me? "

The shop assistants were jealous of the scene of the handsome man and the beautiful woman being so affectionate, and they wished that the person in the handsome man's arms was themselves.

Rachel felt a little embarrassed in front of so many people, and hurriedly left with Jack.

"I've gained some weight recently... Just a salad for lunch..." Rachel pinched her belly. She had been exercising a lot recently, but she didn't know why she was still gaining weight.

"I know there's a good steakhouse nearby... I'll take you there... Hey... Why are you going to the parking lot?"

Jack didn't explain, but led Rachel straight to his new toy.

"Let's go to the city center and have something good..." Jack opened the passenger door and made a 'please' gesture.

"My... My God! ! Ah! You... You bought a car! ! "

Rachel covered her mouth, unable to believe that Jack actually bought this silver-white super sports car in front of her.

Rachel didn't come to her senses until she sat in the passenger seat and felt the real touch in her hand: "How much does this car cost..."

"It doesn't matter how much it costs..." Jack helped her fasten the seat belt, stepped on the accelerator, and the two of them pressed tightly against the backrest, and the car rushed out with a 'boom'.
