Chapter 7 Team Minato

Another few months went by and after training and studying more as a Genin the rest of my classmates had passed the exams and graduated from the academy. Lord Hokage was then ready to put together team assignments in the form of a three-man squad.

These squads were all led by senior Jonin that were to help us train, become stronger, and learn the way of the shinobi. They would help us get ready to take the Chunin exams and all become Chunin.

The squads would also be given missions at different ranks during this time. This was to help us learn how to properly complete out a mission with our team members and in that sense create teamwork. Learning how to work with our fellow shinobi would determine our success in becoming Chunin.

It was currently our Osamu Sensei who was giving out assignments to all the students in my class. He would call names and advise who their Jonin leader was. I was waiting impatiently wanting to know who my new Sensei was going to be, but also know who I would be put on a team with.

I was excited but also nervous, there were a few students I did not want to be put on a team with. AI thought this, I caught Kakashi staring intently at me. I gave him an eye roll stickingmy tongue out at him quickly before I turned around when Sensei called out my name.

"Now for team Minato Namikaze assignment…we have Isamu Tatsusageru…Obito Uchiha…Rin Nohara….and lastly Kakashi Hatake."

My stomach dropped and I thought I was about to throw up. Kakashi is on my team? Seriously? I do not think this is the best idea.

I raised my hand in confusion, the Sensei nodded for me to ask my question.

"Sensei…you said these would be three-man squads…but you just called out four names?"

Sensei nodded and shot me a serious glance.

"Yes, Isamu…per Lord Hokage you will be placed on this team to best help and train you."

I sat down in defeat; I did not believe him. By the looks of it, I do not think he would tell me the reasoning anyway.

After all the team assignments were sent out, we were dismissed to go off to meet our new Sensei. I was the last to walk out of the classroom when I saw Kakashi step in front of me. He cut me off so I could not go anywhere.

"What do you want? Come to gloat more?"

His eyes went a little wide in surprise but then went back to his normal unamused expression.

"No…I just wanted to say…don't get in my way."

As he said this, he turned his back to me waving his hand at me as he walked away.

I glared at his back and was filled with rage. Who does he think he is?! To say something like that to me. He does not know me, we both graduated at the same time with the same scores! Well, he should not get in my way then.

I felt a burning sensation in my throat, suddenly, I felt the burning sensation on my chest. I thought it would pass but it continued, it kept getting worse. I ran into the girl's bathroom and looked around to make sure no one was there.

I went into one of the stalls and slid the door closed. I pulled my shirt up to my neck so most of my torso was exposed. I looked down at my chest and gasped.

Part of the transfer and sealing process of the dragon spirit into the firstborn required a lot of chakra and sealing jutsu. The jutsu made it so that a long black dragon wrapped around my body. It was like a tattoo, the dragon wrapped around my legs, arms, and torso, and in the middle of my chest going up my neck was the dragon's face. The dragon's snout was pointing up my neck. There were never any issues with it, I hardly ever noticed it honestly. I just made sure to always wear long sleeves and long pants to cover it up so no one could see it.

But today, for some reason was different. I lifted my shirt to see where the burning sensation was coming from. I saw a ball of red start to spiral around the dragon face on my upper chest. It continued to spin, I continued to feel the burning sensation in my chest and throat. I started to panic because it was not stopping anytime soon.

"No! why is this happening? I have to go meet my team and new Sensei!... I can't do that with the pain I am feeling. I will not be able to even say a word to anyone!"

I closed my eyes, pulled my shirt down, and tried to calm myself. I gave it a few moments of calming meditation and I started to feel the pain fade away.

Once I was not able to feel the burning sensation anymore, I lifted my shirt. I saw that the dragon tattoo was back to normal. The red spinning ball was gone.

"Thank goodness! Okay, now to go meet my team!"

I ran out of the bathroom and went to the room labeled '315'. I slid the door open and I looked inside. I saw the three other students sitting down already. As walked in, they all stared up at me and Obito stood up.

"Good, you are here! I almost thought you weren't going to make it!"

I smiled as I shook my head.

"Just had to take care of a few things! Has our new Sensei arrived yet?"

Rin and Obito both shook their heads, as I looked around I did not see anyone. I sat down in between Obito and Kakashi since that was the only opening there was. As I sat down the door slid open, in walked a tall man with light blonde hair and a determined look in his eye.

"Hello, Team! My name is Minato Namikaze and I will be your Sensei from now on!"

He smiled and gave a big thumbs-up to us all. After that, he led us out to the courtyard and began asking us to introduce ourselves. We went one by one, stating our names, ages, dreams, and life goals. After we all got acquainted with Minato Sensi, he dismissed us and advised to meet him tomorrow at the training ground at 6am.

After a few years spent with Minato Sensei and the team, performing different ranked missions, pieces of training, and tests it was time that Minato Sensei recommended me and Kakashi to take the Chunin exams.

Minato Sensei said both me and Kakashi were prodigy shinobi and were ready to be assessed. Lord Hokage had no objection so Kakashi and I were put through the exams.

Once we had passed the Chunin Exams, we worked with other already existing chunin and began to complete our higher-ranked missions. Kakashi and I eventually went our separate ways. I was leading one team of Chunin, and he was leading a different team.

Not long after I was leading my team I was recommended and placed into the Anbu Black Ops force. I became an anbu and started conducting special force missions. After a year of this, I was promoted to anbu ops leader. I took over my own anbu team and lead them to complete our missions directed by Lord Hokage himself.

I stayed in this position for quite some time. I was honing my skills and becoming increasingly powerful every day. I was fierce, brutal, and conducted every mission with no questions. I ensured my team completed all missions at the top performance level. I enjoyed this work because it was no different then how I was raised in my village. It required that I had no emotion, no attachment, no feelings. This was something I was familiar with and had no problems doing.

After some time, Lord Hokage came asking me to be a part of an exceedingly difficult solo mission. He advised this mission would be at least 7 to 8 years long. I would also have to complete it on my own. This was a spy mission and would not be able to be conducted with multiple team members.

The mission consisted of traveling around Ninji following the Akatsuki and Orochimaru. These were the two biggest targets that needed to be studied because of how much of a threat they have become. I was told to spy on both the organization and single sanin to provide reports back. The reports needed to consist of their motives, plans, where they were hiding out, any intel I could gather I needed to and return to the Hokage.

I agreed to this mission with no hesitation. With this I set out, not looking back. I was ready to gather as much information as I could to help protect the Hidden Leaf Village.
