levi had been patiently waiting for Chloe . it had been two hours since she left . it was getting late by the minute. where was she ? maybe he was being a worrywart but he couldn't help it . she shouldn't exhaust herself too much . what was wrong with her . can't she think before acting out .
checking the time on the wall clock . '9:30' . Jesus Christ !. he heaved a sigh and grabbed his coat on the side of the sofa before storming out of his room .
Hastily walking to the door , he twisted the knob and walked out then he saw a car parking in front of his house . he paused for a while to see who it was then he saw chloe emerge from it .
he unconsciously released a sigh of relief . his darkened face loosened but soon darkened back because he saw sun ho coming out of of it .
He saw him bring out his phone and hand it to Chloe while she typed something on it and gave it back to him .
levi scoffed and looked away , clutching his coat in his hands . seemingly sun ho was asking for her number and she just gave it to him .
" i'll call you" he exclaimed .
"i'll decline it" she yelled back as he pushed his car door open .
levi rolled his eyes and walked into his house back . he was worried for no reason . he sat leisurely on his sofa and waited for her to come in . chloe watched as sun ho's car accelerated from her sight and she sighed before she shut her eyes
her tears were coming back as she remembered her father was gone , sun ho was just a distraction from all these thoughts . her father no longer existed and she wouldn't see him again . Ever!
she let her body slide down on the gate as she squatted . she weeped and sulked with her palms covering her eyes .
levi kept waiting for her to come in . wasn't she done with sun ho yet . or should he go check on her . No! he promised himself not to get attached to her . he should control himself . he heaved a sigh and decided to get busy with his laptop even if his mind was totally occupied with Chloe
After sniffing and realizing she still had to compose herself before getting into her room she just prayed levi was not in the living room and was still locked up in his room mad at her . she wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her hoodie and slowly walked to the door . she twisted the knob before opening it
levi's head whipped towards the door as it slowly opened . he cleared his throat and focused on his laptop . why can't he just resist her ?.
she stared at him as he focused on his laptop "i'm back" she muttered trying to get his attention but he only nodded and didn't even face her as he kept his eyes glued to his laptop
Chloe scoffed lightly and walked to the kitchen which was positioned at the back of the living room . she needed water to clear her throat . she picked up a glass cup and wanted to walk to the kitchen when she suddenly yelped over her leg cramp and the cup fell off her hand then shattered on the marble floor creating a sound that got levi to rush to her without thinking .
"what's wrong" he held her by her arm.
" Nothing ! , i just ... my leg hurts" she murmured staring at her leg
" ofcourse it would hurt who takes a stroll when their leg is injured " he scolded also staring at her leg as he held her arm firmly . in case she would fall . just incase !
" ... but you made it seem like there was nothing wrong with it " she sniffed and he scoffed in disbelief
" so you just w-" he trailed off as his eyes moved to her swollen face . did she cry?
what did sun ho do?
" Smith?" he tilted his head to the side "are you okay" he asked and all she could do was stare . she could finally see the concern she was looking for written on his face
"what's wrong, why'd you cry?" he demanded for answers . when he saw her a while ago . she looked completely fine . seemingly she did .
she peeled his hands that were on her shoulders away and bypassed him to take a bottled water in a fridge . " nothing levi i'm fine .. i swear " her voice was sullen as she said that lie .
levi clenched his jaw and as soon as she pulled the fridge door open to take water it was slammed shut to her face . she turned to glare at him but held her breath as she saw him so close to her
"Levi?!" she questioned but he chuckled wryly
" you haven't answered my question smith! " he seemed angry at her ... what did she do now ?
"what happened ?!... did sun ho do anything to upset you " he asked as one of his hand placed beside her head . chloe blinked a few times .
sunho? ... what as he got to do with why she was crying and how did he know she had been with sun ho . or maybe he saw when she got dropped off by him . that must be it !
" did he say anything or do anything ... tell me " he uttered and she chuckled in disbelief inwardly . wasn't he acting like he didn't care a while ago .
"i didn't ... this is not about sun ho" she declared and his darkened expression loosened a bit
" then what is it about ... don't tell you're alright i've seen you cry before and this is exactly how you looked ... so just tell me what the fuck is wrong with you and why your eyes are so red " he demanded and she sighed
trying hard not to cry was just too hard especially when someone was deeply concerned and was asking what was wrong
it makes you want to burst into tears but she wouldn't do that .
No... not infront Levi !
she won't cry for someone who acts like he cares but then acts like he doesn't care like there was an off switch at the back of his head to switch characters the way he wanted anytime he wanted to
"he's dead" she murmured but he heard vividly . he suddenly lifted her up like a weightless object to sit on the kitchen counter . Chloe's eyes widened as she suddenly saw herself sitting on the counter . what?! was she that light . he just lifted her like she was nothing . what the fuck .
levi lifted her up so she wouldn't step on the broken glass on the floor .. they were both ignoring the fact that there was broken glass on the floor and if she decided to act stupid again and walk out on him she would step on it and hurt herself so this was the only thing he could do ... sit her on the counter.
he was currently standing in between her legs . she wanted to protest and tell him to let her down but she wasn't in the mood right now all she wanted to do was get to her room and cry her eyes out and in her pillow and eventually fall asleep in her sorrows and mourn
"who died ?.. sun ho !" levi raised a brow hoping she said yes. if that bastard died his problems would be solved . most of it or maybe not . they just hated eachother . chloe wanted to glare at him for asking that kind of question as if he wanted his friend dead but all her eyes could do was water and cry
"No!" she almost screamed with her hoarse and sullen voice .
"then who did?" levi was forcing the words she didn't want to say out of her lips. he wanted to know what made her sad to this extent. he could tell from her eyes she still wanted to cry alot
"my f-father " she couldn't stop her tears from bursting out anymore . she burst into sobs
"he's dead levi, he's gone" she exclaimed in the middle of her hiccups as he stroked her hair gently . that's why she had be crying . if he didn't force the words out of he would have been left in the dark
"he died levi" she hiccuped and he kept stroking her hair as he hugged her . she hugged back and continued to sob on his shirt...levi heaved a sigh of fustration
why does she have to cry so much for someone who abandoned her to her face just because she wasn't a minor anymore . she stopped crying after a long time.. a very long time
"i'm sor-"
"don't!" levi cut her off . why was she apologizing .
"you know if i lost my dad ... i'd be very happy" he murmured and Chloe looked up to stare at him with her still moist red eyes
"are you trying to console me" she asked with a broken voice . her throat hurt.
he nodded with a straight face "yeah is it working?" he questioned and she almost laughed as she cleaned the remaining tears dangling on her eyelashes
"definitely not ! , you should've kept your mouth shut " she said and he chuckled , unaware he was breaking his so called 'rule' of not getting attached to her .
he just couldn't help it when he saw her swollen face
" do you ever think ... the reason you hate your dad so much was not because he's strict with you but because he loves you and you don't think-"
" smith ... you don't know what you're talking about trust me" he cut her off and she pursed her lips .
His reason was beyond that, his father murdered his mother and never payed for it . he killed his mother right in front of him . he shot a bullet right into her forehead . if he was younger than eighteen then he would've been traumatized by his father's evil grin when be killed his mother like he had been satisfied .
he not only killed his mother ... he killed Hina's girlfriend !.... it hurt him so much then.
he wanted his father to rot in hell . he deeply wanted that.
he suddenly opened the fridge door and pulled out a bottled water
"you must be thirsty" he stated before uncapping it . " yeahhh i am " she replied as she took it from his hand and brought it to her lips . she drank a few gulps before she handed it back to him . he capped it back and placed it beside her . she subconsciously licked her lips to wipe away the water on it
"don't do that" he warned
"what ?" she seemed confused
"don't lick your lips in my presence" he swallowed and his adam apple gobbled up and down
" why not..." she stared at him with a look plastered on her face . what is this boy saying .
"trust me... sweetheart you don't want to know " his thumb brushed her lips again and without waiting for her reply he carried her ' bridal style ' and walked towards the stairs
" i think i want to sleep " she closed her eyes , she didn't feel uncomfortable with levi carrying her like this anymore
"i know that" he replied with a smirk
when he got to her room he carefully placed her on the bed and took off her shoes
"thank you" she appreciated but he shook his head
"don't thank me" ' I don't deserve it '
chloe just nodded . it's just levi being Levi again . he tucked her in and turned off the lights
" goodnight smith "
"thank you" she said that to tease him but he only ignored and shut the door .
he heaved a sigh and face palmed himself . such an idiot . he broke his promise to himself. what was all the bluff about avoiding her then . he was walking to the room when his door bell rang.
