-Second letter-

"If you're still unsure about your fairy type, think about the powers you have. Fire fairies may have noticed they can heat things up in the hands, water fairies may have noticed their ability to breathe underwater, nature fairies may have realized their ability to grow things, light fairies may have noticed their ability to turn lights on and off..."

The list went on, and Sage had read that email so many times he could recite it. "Nature fairies may have noticed their ability to grow things."

Sage cupped his hand over another budding tulip, forcing it open and watching as all the petals spread. Did this count? It's not like he grew it from the seed but he did grow it. He was a nature fairy? What did that even mean? What else could he do?

This stupid safety unit they'd been on in fairy school was gonna be the death of him. He wanted to learn magic, not how to hide from hunters. He hadn't even seen these mysterious people that were apparently everywhere ready to strike at any kid with a pair of wings. If he knew enough magic he would just strangle all the hunters in plants if they ever came after him. Why are fairies even so scared anyway? They have magic!! That should give them a huge advantage. Why was he here again? He'd been so caught up in growing out flowers he forgot to check the mail. He strolled over to the mailbox and turned the key, only to find yet another strange letter. The same pink material, sewn shut again. Oh boy, what is it this time? He rushed home to read it. Oh what could it be, an expulsion? He wouldn't doubt it, his teacher was really getting on his case. He came through the door and immediately ran upstairs. He closed his room door and tore through the envelope.

" Students of the Diamond domain's school for magic are invited to the end of year fairy ball June 27th 6:00pm-8:00pm the ball will be held at village center in the Mushroom Domain. "

Village center? Where was that? Sage hadn't even been to one of those villages fairies hide out in, he would've if he hadn't chosen to live as a human. Now he was realizing, he had never seen another fairy. He knew they existed but this ball would be his only chance to ever meet another fairy. Wouldn't that be amazing? What if they're all just as weird as he is? And all this time this has been the reason he never fit in anywhere else. Oh, but how we he be able to leave the house at 6? He wasn't really at the age for teen parties...

Oh but he'd almost forgotten, his human school had a dance too, not on the 27th though, but he could lie about the date. That meant he couldn't go though, surprisingly he was planning on attending, it would have been a nice way to finally put an end to the year. He couldn't pass up the opportunity the envelope gave him though, the opportunity to meet more of his kind. He shoved the letter in his desk, a plan forming.

...

"Oh hi mom, I was thinking about going to that dance my school is having, 27th of June. You don't need to drive me, I'll take the bus."
