Chapter 1

"Father, I have returned".

I said as I knelt on one knee with my head bowed, my left hand on my knee and my right hand holding my sword.

Standing looking out of the window was my father, Zeus.

"Yet another victory, Athena", he said.

"Yes Father", I said.

"I watched from the skies and I have to say you are one of a kind my daughter",he said as he turned towards my direction.

"Thank you, father".

"You know I would be more proud of you if you decided to honour my request as your father",he said with sudden dismay.

"I have told you time without number, I do not wish to be married dear father; neither do I wish to have an offspring my priority and concern is based only on answering the prayers of my people and giving justice to the oppressed, Oh excellent Zeus",I said.

"I do not ask you foolish child",he said, "I order you",he continued.

"Then prepare to be disappointed, father for I am prepared to walk through Hades and back...am prepared to fight",I said.

He let out a heart laugh.

Picking up a sword, he walked towards me.

"Am quite sorry not for me but for you",he said, "Am quite sorry it has come to this".

I jolted up from the ground immediately just in time to dodge the strike of his sword.

I charged towards him as my sword glistened in the night light.

Before I could strike him, he dodged as he slashed at my back in one fluid movement moving faster than any normal eye could detect.

A golden liquid dripped from my lower back.

Blood.

Unlike mortals, we gods and goddesses are known to bleed gold.

He materialised at the far end of the room, I ran towards him again but this time faster and more fluid.

Our swords clashed in the air.

Metals clanked as we tried to fight off one another.

Taking me unaware, he kicked my left ankle causing it to break. I nearly fell due to the impact. He materialised at my back as he kicked my sword from my hand causing my wrist to twist in an awkward way.

I felt on the floor due to the pain, breathing heavily.

As he drew closer to me, I drew back.

My back hit the wall as I tried to gather enough energy to stand but my weak ankles gave up so I settled on knelling.

Placing the tip of his sword on my jaw ,he forced my head up as my blood dripped on his sword.

"You might be the goddess of war but your are still no match for the excellent Zeus.",he said, "I gave you that title and I can take it back".

He stepped on my back with one leg pushing my head down as he said ,"Worship me".

"I said. wor.ship. me",he said as he stepped harder on my back.

"Oh Zeus, god of sky, weather, lightning, thunder, law and order, justice, moral conduct, destiny and fate, kingship."I said,"May your legacy be established among men",I continued.

"Good now leave but before you go do try to see your mother, Hera, so she inform you on the ball",he said as he removed his leg from my back walking towards the golden curtains.

"Yes, father"

"You are dismissed ",he said as he walked through the golden curtains that lead to his chambers.
