Tutorial

Tutorial.

The old man's eyes widened, and he pointed a finger towards a screen. The man beside him, who had also seen the window, spoke with admiration.

Old Man: "This is incredible. I never expected anyone to have a skill right from the start."

Man: "Skills are common. The issue is that their ranks are high."

Daniel Kim possessed Command (B), Maya Johnson had the lowest level of Martial Arts, Alex Shin had Low-Level Swordsmanship and Intimidation (E), and Ethan Yoo had Concentration (C). Countless people entered the world of The Mission, but only a few of them possessed skills above the B rank. Despite being attacked by a demonic possessor with the Fear skill, when Daniel stepped forward, the others instinctively moved away from the chaos.

Old Man: "Could these people be the first to complete the tutorial?"

Man: "I can't say for sure. Even if they know all the routes and strategies, it will take them at least four hours to escape, and probably even longer for the slaughter, depending on how quickly the other teams act."

Old Man: "Well, can you at least jokingly say that you think it's likely? Because this..."

The man shook his head in response to the old man's playful remark.

Knowing the immense power and greatness of the old man in front of him, he understood that the old man was only joking.

Nevertheless, the team was worth paying attention to. Daniel, in particular, seemed to have the potential to become a formidable force.

Just as he was about to switch the screens to another team, the man suddenly froze.

His mouth fell open in astonishment. He was aware that such a reaction was far from dignified, but fortunately, the old man next to him had also reacted in the same way, so it wasn't too embarrassing.

"...."

"...Huh?"

These two beings had lived for more years than mankind could imagine, witnessing countless events and experiences. However, they had never encountered anything as shocking or unimaginable as the scene unfolding before them.

"Aaaahhh!"

Boom! Boom!

Fortunately, the creature was preoccupied with Daniel. With his amateur boxing skills, Daniel swiftly twisted his body and threw a cross-hook. It wasn't a lethal blow, so he couldn't kill the creature, but if the other three people behind him found makeshift weapons and joined the fight, they would easily overpower the creature.

Kwazizik!

Daniel heard the sound of something breaking behind him, but he couldn't divert his gaze from the menacing figure in front of him. The monster wasn't a formidable opponent, but it couldn't be underestimated either. Especially with blood dripping from the corners of its mouth, it seemed that biting was its primary mode of attack. Daniel knew that being bitten could lead to unpredictable consequences.

Daniel: "You, you bastard, what... Kuck!"

Monster: "Gahhhhhhhhhh!"

Daniel couldn't turn his head even though moans and screams echoed behind him. The sight of the monster must have triggered panic among the others.

Daniel wasn't surprised because he felt his own panic rising. But something seemed off about all three of them panicking simultaneously.

Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, Daniel landed a powerful punch on the creature's jaw. The impact rattled its brain, causing it to stagger backward. Taking advantage of the moment, Daniel knocked over a nearby bookcase, which ultimately crushed it. Although it struggled and stumbled, it seemed unable to free itself.

After single-handedly destroying one of the monsters, Daniel suppressed his anger and took a deep breath. He reminded himself, 'There's no point in getting angry now. It will only perpetuate a vicious cycle. The important thing is to check the quest window.'

"Hmph, hmph, hmph... Good work, now that I'm out of danger... Kick!"

STAB!

Daniel could only let out a long, agonizing groan, unable to utter a word, for a single reason.

He saw the piece of wood lodged in his abdomen, and Ethan, wearing a peculiar expression, clutching it. Enduring pain is no easy feat. Daniel, who had never experienced anything more serious than a sprained ankle, couldn't react to the sudden, excruciating pain.

And as Daniel groaned and trembled, Ethan wasted no time in yanking out the piece of wood and thrusting it into his throat.

Blood spurted out like a fountain!

Although it went in at an angle, it was enough to incapacitate Daniel. With the piece of wood held against the side of his

Ethan: "Thanks for taking care of the zombie. Goodbye! See you in hell!"

Daniel: "Grrrr, grrrr."

Ethan wondered if he had any last words.

Daniel stared at Sung-hoon with wide eyes and began to tremble. With shaky hands, he managed to pull out a piece of wood, making the situation even more serious. It didn't take long for him to stop moving as blood gushed out like a burst fountain.

"Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Maya could only close her eyes and scream endlessly.

Everything felt surreal. This gloomy room, so different from her familiar and cozy space, the presence of unfamiliar people, and the sudden appearance of monsters. Something felt off right from the beginning. It couldn't be real, could it?

"This... this is a nightmare, this is a nightmare, this is a nightmare, this is a nightmare...."

Maya huddled down, her head buried between her knees, repeatedly mumbling the word "nightmare." Beside her, Alex lay on the ground with his eyes closed. After observing the scene for a moment, Ethan snatched the piece of wood from Daniel's hand and started walking towards Maya.

"Nightmare, nightmare, nightmare... Kuck!"

"I'm sorry."

Without hesitation, he drove the piece of wood into the exposed back of her neck, causing Maya to collapse without putting up a fight. Now, only a stunned Alex remained. He attempted to remove the piece of wood from Maya's throat, but it was deeply lodged, and after several unsuccessful attempts, his hand became embedded with wood splinters. He frowned and stepped back in pain.

"Ouch, that hurts like hell."

It was a rather large splinter.

There's nothing more absurd than a man who has just killed two people in front of you complaining about a splinter in his hand. However, Ethan remained focused. He surveyed his surroundings and found a suitable piece of wood with a sharp, broken end.

With it in hand, he approached the last survivor, Alex, and began hacking away at him.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Alex flinched a few times, but then his body went cold.

Ethan, covered in gushing blood, soon staggered and fell backwards. His hands trembled in panic, and his eyes fluttered. If someone hostile were to approach him now, he would lose his life in an instant.

Fortunately, however, several windows appeared in front of him once again.

....

....

.......

"That's amazing."

"Heh, heh, heh, he's something else."

After Ethan vanished in a white light, the room was left with three lifeless bodies and a trembling bookshelf. The old man, who had been watching the scene dumbfounded, wiped away his expression of disbelief and spoke up.

"That's Ethan Yoo, isn't it? What was the completion time?"

"Twenty-one minutes and eleven seconds, counting from when Alex Shin woke up. Four minutes and four seconds from when Ethan Yoo woke up. And 1 minute and 45 seconds from when the tutorial quest started."

"Surely the tutorial rewards were based on the completion time? He must have earned a lot of money."

"It's not the reward that's shocking, it's his behavior."

The reason they were shocked by the video was because of Ethan's actions. They had expected something different, with Daniel blocking the opponent while the other three joined in with their weapons to overpower it.

After all, with Daniel's B-grade command ability, the quest itself shouldn't have been too difficult to complete.

However, as Daniel engaged the opponent and Maya and Alex searched for weapons, Ethan paused for a moment, gave a slight nod, and then grabbed a chair from the corner, hitting Alex in the back of the head with it.

As expected, Maya screamed in panic at the sight of Alex falling to the floor. Meanwhile, Ethan grabbed the broken remains of the chair and approached Daniel, who was exhausted after killing the monster. With a swift and simple stab to the neck, Ethan ended his life.

He then proceeded to kill Maya and Alex.

"What do you think? It's interesting to see such unexpected behavior."

I had thought that with Daniel's command skill, the four of them would be able to survive and escape safely. Even in the worst-case scenario, Maya, with her low-level martial arts, would have a chance of survival.

Alex, being the first to wake up and have a glimpse of the system, also seemed like he could handle it.

However, it was Ethan who made all the difference.

I don't know what kind of shock Ethan's behavior delivered, but both of them stared at it for a while.
