Exposed Face

The fire qilin's inner thoughts shifted as it witnessed Helian Weiwei, who was unconscious, suddenly furrow her brows and tremble slightly as if in pain. Surprisingly, its esteemed master approached with a cold expression and without uttering a word, swiftly grabbed Helian Weiwei's wrist and transmitted an unknown energy into her body.

The fire qilin was taken aback by its master's actions but refrained from saying anything. Its master had made their intentions clear – the fate of their prey, whether alive or dead, rested solely in their hands.

As the strong gusts of wind gradually subsided, Baili Jiajue's impassive profile remained perfect as ever, yet his eyes flickered with a hint of uncertainty.

Two forces at play? One was the restless power emanating from the Bai Ze clan, a fact he was well aware of. But what about the other force? It possessed a simplistic yet immense nature that felt inexplicably familiar.

Baili Jia Jue attentively observed the woman before him, his gaze slowly delving into the depths of his eyes. Suddenly, the profoundness vanished wherever his gaze landed, gradually revealing a deeper meaning.

Helian Weiwei, drenched in sweat due to the pain, had a small, imperceptible mark on her chin. It differed greatly from her usual complexion, its white shade causing some to question their own perception.

Fixated on her chin, Baili Jia Jue extended his slender fingers, only to touch her lips first. The sensation was warm, soft, surpassing his expectations. He discovered that not all women repulsed him.

Baili Jia Jue's gaze deepened, and after a momentary pause, his ivory fingertips glided downward, tracing the contours of her jaw. When his fingers brushed against the mark, his gaze intensified, locked onto Helian Weiwei.

As his fingers moved, the darkness gradually faded, revealing a breathtaking countenance. Bathed in moonlight, her face possessed thick black lashes resembling crow's wings, a delicate nose, and lips untouched by any cosmetic enhancement. She lacked the dazzling phoenix eyes but exuded an irresistible allure.

Baili Jia Jue felt no discomfort as he gazed upon her. Naturally, his mind overlapped this face with the eyes that would alternate between smiles, anger, annoyance, and disgust – the real her.

Only in this way would she have the audacity to pinch his chin and declare him unsatisfactory. Ah, this little challenger was indeed full of secrets.

He had previously exhibited enough patience in pursuing her, thus he did not mind. However, for the first time, Baili Jia Jue realized that being beautiful might not be advantageous.

Such beauty would undoubtedly attract more covetous gazes...

Baili Jia Jue's eyes deepened, employing an unknown method as his fingertips slid back and forth. Unexpectedly, Helian Weiwei's complexion became even darker!

Before the fire qilin could recover from its astonishment, its owner's actions bewildered it. "Master, don't you think it's better to have a more visually appealing pet by your side?" it questioned.

Now, Helian Weiwei had transformed into a blackened piece once again, which was rather unattractive. The fire qilin regretfully shook its head.

Baili Jia Jue remained silent, a faint trace of satisfaction appearing in his expression.

Meanwhile, Helian Weiwei, struggling to merge the energies within her body, drew from her previous fusion experience. This time, as the ancient power receded, she devoured it all in one go.

Soon, the fusion was complete, dispelling the pain and the residual poison from the Warcraft.

Overjoyed, Helian Weiwei prepared to examine her martial qi once again when she suddenly felt an itch on her face.

Finally, with the completion of the contract, her senses returned. Before she even opened her eyes, her instinctual punch lashed out.

This punch posed the greatest threat, borne out of her years of cultivation as an elite agent. Unless an opponent was powerless to retaliate, no one had ever been able to harm her and retreat unscathed.

However, to her astonishment, her punch landed on an unresponsive, cushion-like surface.

Something was amiss. This was not right!

Helian Weiwei's face twisted in confusion as she abruptly opened her eyes. It was only then that she realized she wasn't on a mission but in the ancient forest, where the posture of the third prince shouldn't be too peculiar.

Could there be something on her face that made him react this way?

Helian Weiwei instinctively became wary and asked, "Your Highness, why are you so close?"

Baili Jia Jue, as indifferent as ever, replied, "Of course, I'm looking at you."

Her heart was instantly set ablaze by his nonchalant response. "Looking at me? I don't look good..."

Helian Weiwei froze momentarily, feeling as if a thunderbolt had struck her from head to toe. She disregarded any sense of decorum and swiftly rotated the dagger in her hand, using it as a mirror.

Fortunately, her face was still black.

However, she couldn't shake the feeling that her complexion had become even darker since entering the Spirit Realm Forest. Silently twitching the corners of her mouth, she resolved to adjust her appearance with more face masks later. Unbeknownst to her, the hundred miles of frigid ice behind her formed a subtle and fleeting mischievous smile, truly existing for a brief moment.

The fire qilin observed all of this and mourned internally for the woman. It had never realized that its master had a preference for dark skin.

It seemed that the ministers who sent women to the palace would be futile regardless of their efforts. There was truly no other woman in the world darker than Helian Weiwei!

"Could you please put down the dagger in your hand first?" The white cat, awakening for the first time, initially thought Helian Weiwei intended to harm herself. However, before it could utter its next sentence, it suddenly noticed something, its eyes widening in disbelief. It murmured, "You actually formed a contract with the main hall. The main hall never expected you to succeed."

"A contract?" Helian Weiwei's eyes flickered with understanding. She stared at the white cat and remarked in a slightly playful tone, "Don't tell me the power that nearly killed me just now originated from you..."

In a cold tone, the white cat replied, "You yourself expressed a desire for a contract beast, and the descendants of the Bai Ze family value loyalty the most."

Helian Weiwei playfully flicked her tail, while the white cat blushed darkly, realizing just how insistent this woman was on marrying him. Perhaps it was time to inform his father and the emperor to prepare the dowry.

Coughing lightly twice, the white cat couldn't contain a faint smile at the corner of its mouth.

And as this scene unfolded, Baili Jia Jue observed it all with profound eyes...
