Pathetic

Ahrag gazed at the hairless ape that just killed a thousand of its generals. He saw its mouth move. Something basic it came to grasp over the years. It heard the sounds too. But what was the human trying to communicate? For Mother's sake, he couldn't understand the human at all. Was it disrespecting it? The human definitely was disrespecting it.

"Is that thing making a mockery of us?" Ahrag asked.

"It seems so Ahrag. It seems so," Dgraah said.

It too was confused by the hairless ape squashing its own face around. It picked up no emotion from its sounds. The thing dressed in mismatched pieces of fabric was a total mystery to it. If it weren't for the strength it showed a few seconds prior it might have thought the ape to be a simple clown.

"Orrag, do you at least understand what I mean when I say looks can deceive? Though, this human is far stronger than I expected. He is as strong as a commander. Just like you Ruggrah," Ahrag assessed.

"Don't compare me to a hairless ape. I only need a finger to blast it to pieces," Ruggrah said, "Aren't you a commander as well? "

"I'm simply a different breed," Ahrag cracked his neck.

Orrag and Dhraag just watched the little argument that took place between two of their best fighters in the nest. They wanted to chirp in, but they remembered what happened the last time they did such a thing. Orrag needed to reattach his limbs and Dhraag needed a new head.

Long Wei stopped speaking when he noticed the oddness that strangled the atmosphere. He heard rough growls coming from the creatures. Clearly, they were communicating, yet he couldn't make out any words from what they said. That struck him as odd.

What Expanse in the Myriad Realms didn't speak Common? Where were these trials situated? Common as it came to be known was a language unique to those who embarked on the endless journey to the top. Most thought it was The Heavenly Dao's chosen language. The moment one completed their Foundation Establishment, they could begin speaking it.

Did these creatures not cultivate? But then how were they comparable to Saint Level cultivators?

He focused his spirit sense onto them. Aside from the powerful aura gushing from them, he didn't feel a trace of a Saint's Aura. But their own personal aura somewhat mimicked it. If he were simply a Heavenly Door Cultivator, he wouldn't be able to tell the difference at all.

He wondered what that was or how they grew to such a high level of strength without absorbing qi. At least in the normal sense. Maybe the harmful Qi had something to do with it?

At the moment he didn't care. What he came for he got. Now it was simply time for him to slaughter these creatures and rack up the much-needed points in a quick and clean fashion. He only had twenty-eight days to sort everything out and claim the Cosmic Beads as his. But the quicker he set his score to the highest numbers, the quicker he could get to killing Dong Meirong.

Long Wei placed his hands neatly behind his back. The gentle winds traveling through the tunnels rustled the hem of his robes. His hair swayed, dancing to its tune. Deep black eyes, filled to the brim with absolute confidence, gazed at the creatures. He awaited their next move. There was no reason for him to dash towards them when they seemed so eager to end their lives.

"This human is weak. I'll fix it up with my finger," Ruggrah said.

It didn't wait to hear Ahrag's words, the leader of their little band, as it dashed straight for Long Wei. Its baleful aura exploded, combating Long Wei's with absolute ease. Long Wei's current aura was still that of a Heavenly Door Realm Cultivator, and that showed. The creature's aura was like a sword hand-crafted by the world's most famous swordsmith and then sharpened by a drop of sword qi from a true Sword God.

No matter how thick or how far Long Wei's current aura could cover, at the end of the day, it still paled in comparison to a Saint-equivalent existence.

Ruggrah smiled, confirming its theory that the human was all bark and no bite. The weakened Mortal Transcendent humans nursing their injuries only strengthened that thought. Its limited knowledge made it assume that since the human had an aura far weaker than the Mortal Transcendents it definitely had to be weak.

It ignored the fact that the weakling just blasted a thousand of its men with a flick of his finger.

Ruggrah gathered immense momentum behind its fist. Like a spring, its fist whistled toward Long Wei's face at a speed the normal mind could never comprehend. Everything around Long Wei was annihilated before its fist even reached his face.

The fleshy cavern walls exploded into a blood mist that rained down. Chunks of flesh and pieces of bones slammed into the Mortal Transcendent cultivators. Disgust would have covered their faces, if they still had the energy but the injuries and the battle took far too much for them to even care about it.

Some of them noticed the destruction happening run them barely affected them aside from the fleshy rain of blood, nothing else did. Clearly, the force and energy erupting from the creature's fist had to be enough to obliterate them a thousand times over. Yet. They were still in the trials.

Qin Yan understood what was going on. The Prince had taken it upon himself to protect them from the residue force. His eyes lit up in admiration. When would he grow to such a level of strength? Where he could face the power of a Sain head-on and still have enough time to protect others without a care in n the world?

Long Wei lifted a single finger. And a single finger was all he needed to end the battle. He forwent the use of qi for this next exchange.

The creature before it was arrogant. How could it simply use a common fist to attack him? Did it think his body was weak? Did it think he was weak? His body, back when he was in the Heavenly Door Realm tanked the explosion of a large mortal star without a single scratch. His body then had already reached the peak of what the Saint Realm offered and possibly surpassed that stand by a few margins. The creature's aura barely reached the Saint Realm, yet it felt it compete with its raw body against him?

Ruggrah's fist smashed right at the center of Long Wei's pointed finger. The resulting force blew a hole right through the tunnels in a bright flash. The soft silver glow of the three moons hanging high in the navy blue skies trickled down into what was left of the cavern. The other trial participants were still alive and kicking, protected by a thin layer of qi from Long Wei.

The smile from its ugly face fell off when it noticed that nothing changed. Long Wei was still there, a bored expression present on his face.

Its fist was wedged against a single slender olive finger. Long Wei's pair of black eyes, staring right at the dents that should have been eyes, angered it. It pulled its fist away, and swung another, this time going straight for his jaw.

Only a finger met his fist. And this time not even a thread of force or energy escaped from their collision.

Rage built up in it like a raging river during a massive rainstorm. A single fist strike morphed into a flurry of blows, that rained down on Long Wei one after the other in a neverending stream. Long Wei met each strike perfectly with a single finger. He similarly canceled out the energy from each strike, leaving the tattered remains of the cavern untouched.

As the exchange progressed, and space showed signs of breaking from the sheer speed of the Ruggrah's speed, it suddenly stopped. It pulled back from Long Wei, breathing right up its head as the exhaustion got to it.

Meanwhile, Long Wei stood where he was, unaffected by the exchange. Truth be told, not even a percent of his stamina was used to keep up with the poor morsel. He pitied it. Its strength was insufficient to move him a single millimeter back. All its arrogance, yet it couldn't back it up.

He took a few steps for the first time, walking towards Ruggrah. Was he truly never going to find a match within the same cultivation realm? If he amped up his cultivation by another Realm would anyone in this trial even have a chance of touching the hem of his cloth? Suddenly, a wave of disappointment flooded him. It was far too lonely at the top.

He feathered the Ruggrah's chin and forced it to gaze into his eyes with its pits. The other Saint-Level creatures only watched his actions with horror and interest. Ruggrah's energy was spent completely. It couldn't even lift a finger to attempt to push him away.

"Pathetic."

Long Wei lifted Ruggrah by the neck and squeezed. It exploded like a ripe tomato smashed with a brick. Its muscles, blood, and flesh whipped against the faces of the other three Saint-Level creatures.
