Are We Not Going Home?

As Jake sat in the car with Tan as he drove them, he didn't know how to feel or react around Tan. A part of him felt relaxed, and the other part of him felt unease. In a word, the drive with Tan alone was awkward for Jake, and this definitely didn't go unnoticed by Tan.

"I thought you said you've finally decided to start feeling comfortable around everyone?" Tan asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"Yes. Until it's just the both of us," Jake said honestly and Tan chuckled.

"Why? Do you think I'm making things difficult for you on purpose?" Tan asked, and Jake cleared his throat.

He knew the question was like a test for him. If he said yes, it would mean he was indirectly calling Tan an inconsiderate person, and if he said no, it would mean he was completely okay with it.

"I think you're doing what you think is best for Haewon. I'd probably do the same if I were in your shoes," Jake said, and Tan nodded. He was a smart one. Tan thought.
