Finally a disciple

When Xuan Lei was not in sight anymore, Fu Yang closed the door and returned to his rocking chair.

As he sat down, he saw Shi Wen yawning.

He is just a small child, obviously children at his age should still be sleeping at this time in the afternoon.

Parents develop the body of their children before they embark the journey of cultivation, and sleeping was a very important routine in their daily life.

Children should be healthy before cultivating, if they are sick they will need to be treated by either Doctors or Healers immediately. Otherwise, their hope to surpass Foundation Realm will be gone.

Hiring doctors or healers cost too much for ordinary people, so rarely do cultivators arise from commoners.

However, there are some parents out there that force their children to start cultivating at a young age. They do this so their child becomes strong earlier in order to avoid getting sick and have a Doctor to cure them.

Although this was a good method, the children's cultivation usually will not go past the Foundation Realm because there would be either something wrong with his Body Cultivation process or he didn't develop his body enough to sustain his power.

Even if most Cultivation families also have their children start at a very young age, they have many expert members and they could also afford buying tonics that strengthen the children's body.

Having better guides to choose from who will teach them a Body Cultivation suitable for the children, greatly helped them be successful in the future.

Nevertheless, it didn't let the commoners' hope disappear at the thought of birthing strong cultivators.

But that was the old way he remembered. 5 years ago, Frantech Nation was able to develop a Body Reading Machine for children.

This machine will help them determine what Body Cultivation children are most compatible with and ways to improve the body by providing a tonic formula for them.

However, Fractech Nation didn't add a Body Cultivation database in their commercial Body Reading Machine. It was up to the owner to upload their own Body Cultivation's ebook version, the machine's job was to choose among which of those cultivation suitable for children upon reading.

For the tonics recipe, the machine can only provide those already posted on the internet. If the owner has their own recipe, they can upload them in the Body Reading Machine's database.

Even with the new technology, due to the cost of the machine, commoners are still unable to use it. But there are some public facilities available, they are founded by the Royal Family in order to help the commoners. Each time they try, they only need to pay 3 gold coins. Though the amount was still expensive, commoners can easily save that amount if they wanted to.

Still, the fact that most cultivators right now either have both or one parent as a cultivator didn't change despite the technological advancement.

However, this may change in the future, the current King's goal was to have every citizen become a cultivator during his reign. His goal was slowly being achieved due to the rapid development of the country.

For Fu Yang's case, both of his parents were cultivators.

His father was from a prominent Cultivation Family, while his mother, according to his master's story, was just a simple maid.

He didn't know what status his father has in the family before running away with his mother, he only knew that he was considered an illegitimate child because he was born before his parents even married. Also, his father's relatives and the head of the family were against their union.

He lived together with his parents until he was 7 years old. One day, both of them disappeared and he was left alone in his home. Fortunately, his father's friend, now his master, was there to take care of him.

With the strict handling of his master, he slowly forgot how to be spoiled by his own parents. He really strives to become a master like his master was to him.

Speaking of his master, he should call him later after dinner. He must know about his future grand-disciple.

"Are you sleepy?"

"*Yawn* I slept late yesterday. Sorry for being sleepy, Elder Fu."

'Poor child, such a talented child shouldn't be left in the street. He is fortunate because I found him with the Aptitude Seeking Mirror, what about the other possible children living in the street?

Should I propose to the Sect Master creating some sort of Orphanage? This project will be able to help increase the reputation of the Sect too.

I am not doing this to have the Sect Master help me find some disciple. Really not. It is for the poor children out there. They need help.'

"Come here, let me take you on a vacant room. Just take an afternoon nap, I will wake you up before dinner and continue what we were talking about."

After convincing himself that his project for a cause didn't contain any self interest, Fu Yang led Shi Wen towards a vacant room for his possible future disciples.

He already prepared this room yesterday together with Fufu, in case he found himself a disciple.

However, it looks like he may need to clean another room. The current Shi Wen was not able to help him cultivate.

Even if Shi Wen's aptitude was lower than 70, his initial aptitude was still 58, 8 aptitude values higher than his! More importantly, if his physique was activated, his aptitude would be 88.

Shi Wen's talent was more than enough to make any other masters out there want to nurture him.

Hopefully he can find another disciple with above 70 of aptitude value. Otherwise, he will remain a 1st Nascent Realm cultivator for 9 years and if worse happens, he will never break through to the 2nd Nascent Realm.

It was now 6:30 p.m.

Fu Yang went to wake Shi Wen up as Fufu had already finished cooking dinner.

"Shi Wen, wake up! Dinner is ready."

When Shi Wen woke up, he was in daze for a moment before he went down from the bed and went out of the room.

"Sorry, for sleeping too much."

The first thing the Shi Wen did was to apologize. Before he slept the sun was still up, now it was already dark outside. It seems like he slept too much.

"You worry too much, you just slept for 2 hours. Anyway, sit there and eat."

The place where they will be eating was still the same set of coffee tables and rocking chairs. 'It seems like I need to buy a dining set. Should I buy it big or small for now?'

Fu Yang thought, if he was going to get more disciples why not buy a really big dining table. There was still a wide space in the living room, waiting to be filled up. The new dining set will be put there.

'There should also be a table set in the yard. When the sun is up, I can go there together with my other disciples to drink some tea and eat a snack!'

When the two of them finished eating, he ordered Fufu to take all the plates and utensils in the dishwasher. The only downside of Fufu is that he can't be washed, otherwise his inside will rust.

Fortunately, the house was already equipped with a dishwasher so he didn't have to wash the dishes every time he ate.

Now that the table is cleaned, he can finally discuss with Shi Wen the discipleship he will undergo.

"Shi Wen, let's continue what we were talking about earlier... I want to take you as my disciple." Fu Yang decided not to talk about reaching the Nascent Realm before 18 years old.

Although there were monstrous geniuses who achieved such feats, like the current King, it was still something to dream of.

"Disciple... me? Uhm... what does that mean?"

Because Shi Wen was brought up by his mother in a rural area where cultivators are rarely seen, there are some things he didn't know.

He was also unable to attend school in order to learn things because he didn't have a birth certificate to present, making him unable to be enrolled.

Fu Yang didn't foresee that Shi Wen didn't know anything about cultivation. He knew that there were some people ignorant about cultivation, but that was for those living in rural areas.

Although Shi Wen was a beggar, he found him in Havenshire City. A city, not a rural area where the topic of cultivation was not present.

"Hmm... Being a disciple means I will become your master, I will teach you about cultivation and protect you until you are able to protect you own self. I am like your father."

When Shi Wen heard the word father, his eyes lit up.

"So you will become my father?!"

He excitedly said. Even though he grew up with his mother, he really wanted to have a father ever since. Someone who will play with him and lift him up. "Yes, I want to be your disciple!"

"Okay, now let's do the discipleship ceremony... Fufu, bring the tea set, boiled water and instant tea!"

He waited for Fufu to set up the table again, for the discipleship ceremony.

"Shi Wen, I want you to make me tea and give it to me. Just pour the hot water in the cup and then put in an instant tea sachet. After you finish, hand the cup to me."

Fu Yang decided that having Shi Wen make tea from scratch was too much for a child, so it was better to use some instant tea.

"Okay!"

Shi Wen hurriedly did what he was told to do, when he finished preparing the tea he nervously gave the cup to Fu Yang. "Here's your tea..."

"From now on call me Master."

"Here's your tea, Master!"

Fu Yang took the tea and drank the cup.

Finally he got a disciple, and now Shi Wen is officially his disciple.
