It talks

To say the Vampire King has been worried is an understatement. He has been thinking of ways not to get his son beheaded. He hoped that his son will find favor in the sight of the nobles and the people. He couldn't keep such a big crime secret. It was too much.

He has sent his messenger to gather the nobles, so they can see through the matter. He knows his son is not lying about the gods sending those humans. After all, they wouldn't want to kill people who the gods sent. Would they?

He just hoped that the trial goes well. All the nobles and elders have gathered and the King was yet to present the matter before them.

The elders and nobles were already seated in the meeting room. When the King entered they all said up to get him portraying respect to their King.

"You may all have your seats," the King said.

"You see I have gathered you all here today for a very important issue, you see my son committed a crime," he said, and gasps could be heard.

"He brought the humans to our land," He said and paused a bit to let them understand.

"I know my son, he wouldn't just do it for no reason. And you all know him too. He is over four hundred years old and will not be stupid to bring human here when he was there during the war. He said that the humans in which he brought were sent by the gods. We can't decide what will happen now I think they should go through a trial. So what do you all think about this matter? What should be done." The King said.

"The rule says they should be beheaded, I think we should follow the rules," one of the nobles said and whisperings could be heard throughout the meeting room.

"I don't think they should be beheaded. They should be given some punishment, no one had ever disobeyed the rule. So I think as he is the first person to disobey and also or crown prince we should maybe just punish them" one calm noble said.

"That's nonsense! So what will the people think of this? Because he is the crown prince we let this slide. What will they say, that we are partial, and what about the humans, we have kept our identity secret for years and we will just let them leave so they can tell the rest of humans that we exist." the first noble said again angry this time.

"What did the guys send them to do?" One of the elders should thoughtfully.

"Clayden said the gods sent them to retrieve the gems gifted to them by the gods, that they were stolen by one of their Kings," The Vampire King said the little information he knew.

"So how does that concern us," one of the nobles said arrogantly.

"Don't forget that I am your King, Rashford" The Vampire King said calmly but you could feel the answer already seething from his voice.

"I'm sorry my King" Rashford apologized knowing what his King is capable of.

"To be honest, I think they should just go through the trial and all vampires in this land must attend and we will let even the commoners air their views" one of the nobles who has been quiet the whole time spoke up.

He didn't want the Price to die, he saw good Penfield in the Prince. So he tried his best by removing their minds from the punishment.

"Yes that's what will be done, you all are dismissed," the King said and stood up without waiting for anybody to leave first.

He needed to clear his head.

All of them left the meeting room immediately after their King.

"Can we explore the palace or we are not meant to go outside this room?" Kiara asked already exhausted from being in the four walls of the rooms.

"I don't know, but let's ask Clayden first," Kyra said thoughtfully.

"How will we see him?" Kiara asked frustrated.

"When the maids come to serve us the food we will tell them to help us call him," Kyra said already fed up with her sister's questioning.

"Smart" Kiara giggled and Kyra tried to hide her smile while stifling a giggle and shaking her head as a facade.

Kiara's laughter has always been infectious.

One will think she's mad the way she giggles at every little thing. But that's what makes her her.

She's herself.

A few minutes later, the maid came to serve them their food.

"Kyra, Kiara, and Prince Eros" your meals are here.

Kyra and Kiara made the maids call them by their names apart from Eros who insisted they call him 'Prince Eros' even though he is not seen as a Prince here and might be beheaded soon.

He said he couldn't have mere maids call him by his name even thought they were vampires and do to him many things.

Eros heard his name and bolted out of his room like a hungry lion.

"Turkey" Eros screamed in joy like a kid. He seemed to posess the character around them. He had grown fond of them in the short period.

Kyra and Kiara are already used to his playfulness. The two are also playful but Kyra just seemed to drift from her normal bubbly personality since her mama's death.

"Thank you, Mae," Kyra said talking to the maid.

Mae likes them and she wishes they wouldn't be beheaded. She knows part of their story because the big-mouthed Kiara couldn't shut up.

Thanks to the little dignity left in her she spilled part.

"You are welcome, enjoy your meal," Mae said with a genuine smile on her face and she gracefully left the room.

Everyone in the palace does things with grace and poise, even walking or talking. They all act like royalties, even the common maids. And this made them feel less in the presence of the vampires. Now Kyra knows why Clayden walks and talks like he does.

"Oh my God, we forgot to ask Mae," Kyra said putting on her slippers and getting up from the bed.

She ran straight to the door and pushed it open with her might you'll be surprised that the door is still intact.

Mae was already at the end of the corridor ready to make a turn that leads to somewhere that leads to somewhere that leads to the kitchen.

"Mae" Kyra screamed her head shooting out of the door.

Mae turned back and started walking speedily towards her.

"Please don't shout like that again, everyone in this palace could hear you, we have elevated hearing so next time just talk normally and I will attend to you"

"I'm sorry thought you wouldn't hear me as you were already at the far end of the long corridor" Kyra explained.

"It's ok don't just do it again," Mae said and Kyra nodded in response "so why did you call me?" Mae asked.

"Oh, oh, just wanted you to tell the Prince that I want to talk to him" Kyra rushed her words.

"Ok, I'll do that"

"And please could you get us drinks"

"Yes, I will"

"Thank you"

"You welcome," Mae said and disappeared to the end of the corridor causing Kyra to jerk in fear.

Later Mae arrived with their drinks.

"Wynstar, come here baby" Kiara called Wynstar and placed a bowl of water in front of her.

"I'm hungry" They all heard a voice say and they turned to the source and saw it was Wynstar.

They were looking at her and each other trying to understand what was happening.

"What?" And this time it was clear it was Wynstar talking.

"Wynstar you can talk?" Kyra asked while the other two were paralyzed with shock.

"Yes," Wynstar said and yawned.

"It talks," Eros said with fear written on his face pointing a shaking finger at the tiger like Wynstar just stole one of his valuables.

"Yes moron, I talk, now stop pointing at me," Wynstar said.

"Hey, I'm no moron," Eros said offended. "Ok, you learn how to talk and then the first thing you say to me is an insult" Eros huffed.

The tiger must have been harboring him in her mind.

"How?" Kiara asked cluelessly talking for the first time finally breaking from her shock.

"How, what," Wynstar asked bored.

"You talk for the first time which is abnormal and you are being sassy instead of quenching our curiosity she's asking how you can talk" Kyra queried.

"Exactly!" Eros exclaimed and Wynstar rolled her eyes -the action was comical.

Even tigers roll eyes Clayden thought.

"You see, I was sent by the gods two years ago ahead of time" Wynstar explained.

"So why are you talking now," Kiara asked.

"If I talked then you all will have been freaked out, I had to wait till you saw and believed in magic and supernatural things, and trust me it wasn't easy. Why do you think my IQ is perfect, I understand each and every command." Wynstar explained while the rest were trying to digest the situation.

"Wow, this is a lot!" Kyra exclaimed.

"I hated it when you guys will say shake and I'll just have to comply" Wynstar said and they all laughed at the confession.

"Lest I forget, the main reason I started talking was to tell you Farrack said that you both can't remember," Wynstar said.

Yes.

Farrack said something about their journey but the seem not to remember.

"I knew we were forgetting something," Kiara said tapping her chin.

"What's that?"Kyra asked not wanting to beat stone the bush.

"He said you will gain alliances here in the dark forest____"

"Yes, that's what he said," Kiara said happily interrupting Wynstar.

"Don't interrupt me next time" Windstar scolded "and I think you should gain the vampires' alliance and I think there are more alliance you will gain apart from the vampires, no one knows what the Dark Forest holds" Wynstar finished.

"I had a feeling coming here wasn't a mistake, we have to make sure we wouldn't get beheaded," Kyra said.

"Thank Goodness!" Eros exclaimed. "Now that's some good news"

"We have to tell Clayden," Kyra said.

"Tell me what?" They heard a voice say, and they turned surprised to see Clayden by the door.

"Oh good to see you Clayden," Kyra said.

"Save the pleasantries," Clayden said and Kyra blinked rapidly

"Why is he being sassy," Kyra thought, she was a bit upset with what he did whether he meant it or not but decided to keep quiet.

Kyra will surely get a comeback. Sometimes you think she's forgotten but she hasn't. She doesn't forget being insulted -knowingly or unknowingly- easily.

"What did you want to tell me that you sent the maid to call me and what is it that you feel you ask should tell me?" Clayden asked authoritatively.

He was acting off. Clearly.

"I wanted to ask you if we can roam around between the Palace walls of course, so can we go out?" Kyra asked with bored eyes.

"Be reasonable. Yes you can explore round the palace, it's not a room arrest" Clayden said sarcastically " and what did you think I should know," Clayden asked.

"Mr. I-must-know it all can you stop with this bossy attitude," Kyra said with angry eyes.

"Hey missy, stop with the drama, what did you think I should know?" Clayden asked again.

"Ok fine come force it out of me, in fact just go away must you be so annoying? Do you feel you own the world or what, you are so arrogant, just get out" Kyra screamed with anger

"Ok whatever I'll go, but just so you know the trial is tomorrow," Clayden said and left banging the door hard behind him.

"Whoa! That was one serious brawl" Eros exclaimed.

"Why is he so annoying? I just said good to see you especially because he heard me calling his name it was just a polite way of starting a very strange conversation with someone. I would just start saying my tiger can talk now and guess what she said she said Farrack said we are to gain your people's alliance, huh?" Kyra said angrily.

"I get that he's frustrated and sad now because he might get beheaded anytime soon, but that was rude," Kiara said taking Kyra's side.

"He's the one who even got us in the mess in the first place," Eros said.

"Let's go outside, we can't stay here in this room forever, you heard Clayden it's not room arrest" Kyra said and they walked out of the room.

On the way, they met Mae.

"Hello Mae, can you take us on a tour around the Palace?" Kiara asked politely.

"Of course," Mae said with a smile.

"Thank you," Kiara said mirroring Mae's smile.

"You welcome, follow me," Mae said and started leading them around the palace.

She took them to a large room with different things in it, it was like a mini museum. There were pictures on the wall and things that looked so valuable they looked old , like they have been there for centuries.

She took them around and explaining each item and its history.

"Can you tell us about the drawings on the wall?" Kyra asked.

There are so many drawing and wiring from unknown laughed on the walls of the Palace.

"Yes, you see these drawings signify war. It was a war that happened several centuries back. Vampires, humans, elves, witches, and probably other creatures that you all think are extinct or never existed. We used to live in peace, but a mew King cane and saw us as they and ambushed most of our homes at night. It served like something they have been planning for long. A lot of innocents died. It was like it wasn't going to end. But finally, the war ended and the gods blessed all magical and supernatural beings with the 'dark forest'. The earth used to be peaceful despite our diversities, but all of a sudden, the humans were jealous and decided to start a war to show they were superior. And since then no human comes into the 'dark forest' and many who have come in don't go out alive." Mae explained.

"Lucky humans like you" Mae chuckled.

"Will they let us speak freely on the day of our trial?" Kyra asked.

"They usually let people speak but I don't know about you people," Mae said.

"Ok," Kyra said tapping her chin like she was in deep thought.

Mae took them to other parts of the palace. She also took them outside to see the garden, it was a beautiful scene.

There was a little forest in the palace and Wynstar helped herself with a medium-sized deer.

They walked around the palace until they got tired and they retired to their rooms to sleep.
