A Wild Goose Chase

After finding out that their captive was gone, Tiruru immediately scanned the surroundings for traces related to Lily’s escape.

However, the only thing she found out of the ordinary were empty packs of potato chips and other snacks, littered on top of a table. She was sure they weren't there before.

“Release the Plague Hounds!” Tiruru shouted. “Our prisoner has escaped!”

The Progenitors of the Plague Faction, including Zabab, appeared in the underground ruins, where Lily was kept.

“There are shoe prints on the ground,” Ilulu crouched down and waved her hand.

A moment later, the footprints left by Maple and Cinnamon glowed with a faint green color.

“Follow them!” Zabab ordered coldly.

A moment later, dozens of Plague Hounds barked like mad as they ran after the footprints, which headed away from the ruins.

The Progenitors followed suit, even surpassing the hounds as they flew past them with the intention of capturing whoever freed their prisoner.
