And much to her glee the ice boulder vanished as quickly as it had appeared, with him still seated there like nothing happened.

"Well… how about we take this to another room?" Adam spoke standing up as Esdeath smirked.

'Yes, this is good,' She liked that confident look in his eyes, there was not a shred of fear in them as he turned around showing his back to her.

Something like was suicide for someone else, and above all no one had dared to show Esdeath their back, especially when her bloodlust was on full blast.

And this wasn't him being an idiot, 'He can counter me even if I attack,' Esdeath had been simulating her attacks in her head, and it was clear that there were no openings to be exploited, even when he was opening the door at this moment.

'I made this arena in advance…' Adam thought walking into the room, well if this could even be called a room, it was way bigger than Tokyo City in area.

'But I never thought I would need to use this again,' He sighed, after Makima he hadn't met anyone who attacked him… without any good reason.

But now someone like that had appeared all of a sudden, and she seemed too eager to fight him.

"Then… let's start," As soon as Adam said that a flurry of sharp icicles was sent his way with a simple gesture of her hand, Weisschnabel

'There are too many of them…' Adam deflected many of them, but the sheer amount of blades was covering his view.

And considering Esdeath's power this was surely an attempt to set up her next move, since now he can't see her...physically.

That is when a giant horn of ice burst through the wall of Icicles at blinding speed, Grauhorn. 

'She's good I'll give her that,' Adam moved to the left to dodge the horn, which was supposed to pierce through him.

And as he was in the middle of his movement he saw a shadow being cast on the floor. Above him was a boulder made of ice once again, but this was one the size of a 7-story building, Hagelsprung.

BOOOM*

It crashed on the floor violently as Adam was able to move forward out of its range, but that is what Esdeath wanted.

"Uh-oh," Adam realized that he wasn't in a good position, there was a horn aiming for his back originating from the giant ice hill, another coming from his right branching off from the body on the first horn.

And right in front of him was…

"I got you," Esdeath was running towards him at top speed with a smirk.

At this moment Adam was kind of trapped from all sides, jumping up to dodge the attack was the worst possible option, and if he continued to move in other directions then Esdeath would be hot in pursuit.

'So, I guess I need to engage at this point,' Adam considered his position, and moved forward immediately.

'Excellent choice!' Esdeath was happy to see him coming towards her to attack instead of running away, 'But you are too late.' 

She was intrigued by Adam sure and the thing written on the door, but there was something else that caused her to open the open.

'The way time stopped at that instant,' Esdeath had that scenery imprinted in her mind, something like that was really an eye-opening experience for someone like her.

'I can use it as well,' Esdeath had been wanting to recreate that same effect but with her powers, and as soon as Adam was about to throw his punch, his body was frozen, Mahapadma.

And alongside him everything else was frozen in place, even the small snow crystals were hung in the air, and the only one who was moving at that point was Esdeath. 

Thanks to her always knowing that this was a possibility, and watching such a phenomenon firsthand; Esdeath succeeded in stopping time on her first try.

"You are mine!" She declared while stabbing her rapier at Adam's frozen body, "Huh?" but as her soon as her attack landed, that joyful smirk soon turned into a look of confusion.

"Impressive," Esdeath heard a voice to her left and instinctively created a thick wall of ice on that side.

BOOOOOOOMMM*

With a grand explosion, the wall was turned into small ice crystals instantly, and the fist that destroyed it made its way towards Esdeath, who was now ready to block that attack with her rapier after she created a small amount of time to position herself.

It was just that, this wasn't enough...

BANG*

'This….' Esdeath was shocked to find that her body was thrown off the ground, and she was currently flying in the air with a mangled rapier, '…Is great!' but she grinned as her body smashed into the massive boulder she had made before.

The ice boulder was crushed into pieces under the impact, but it didn't seem to faze her much.

"Yes, this is…" She jumped towards Adam, her clothes disheveled, her hat gone, with blood trickling down her face because of a cut on her head, "This is what I want!!!" 

It was just that, Esdeath's smirk got even crazier when she saw his face again.

'He was able to dodge my attack even when I stopped time,' Esdeath was ecstatic, she may have used the skill for the first time; but she was confident that no one else she knew would be able to deal with that, 'We are the same!!' and this is the absurd result she drew because of that.

The way time stopped when that door appeared, and that door led her to the one who cast that technique, both of them had the same ability at that moment.

And currently, there seemed to be a little difference in control, she had used it and he was able to get out of it, but when would she be able to get out of it if he used it?

That is what was going on in Esdeath's head, as she stared down Adam like a hungry beast.

'I didn't hit her too hard, did I?' Sweat was trickling down his brow, when he saw Esdeath running towards him at top speed with that crazy look.

But there was no need to worry it seemed, because he could already tell that she was that type of person.

'Her attacks….' And even if she looked like she had lost it, her attacks never lost that sharpness and if anything they seemed to have gotten more dangerous.

At this moment, it felt like he was facing an injured beast that was on its last leg, but because of that very reason; the beast had gotten even more ferocious than before.

And it wasn't just Adam who thought that way...

'Every time he attacks… no even when he doesn't attack…' Esdeath thought while jumping back quickly to get away, even when Adam did not attack, 'I feel these Goosebumps all over my body.'

She knew that her instincts were triggered because of him, and they were sending her warning signals every time she went close to him. But it was hard to know whether this was her own defense mechanism, or if it was triggered by the beast whose power she had acquired.

But even if she didn't know about that, there was one thing for certain…

'Weak….' Esdeath thought attacking Adam who just dodged his way out of the rain of gigantic icicles, but even then she wasn't talking about him, 'I am weaker…?'

From where her flight signals originated from was confusing, but leaving that aside she knew that Adam had zero trouble dealing with her current attacks, even when she was going full blast.

And that is why she needed to increase her attack power right this instant, 'I need to override that sense of fear.' Esdeath's sweat flew as she moved out of the way of a punch that made her skin feel cold.

Even if Adam was the one who was on the defensive this entire time and she seemed to be the attacker, in truth Esdeath could feel that at this moment, she was the arrogant hare that was going up against the playful lion.

'I would've been hit if I didn't use Mahapadma again,' Esdeath had barely escaped that attack using her newly acquired technique.

And because of using that technique two times in such a short time...

"Want a break?" Adam asked still in his fighting stance.

"Heh, No chance…" Esdeath smirked in return, "Things are just starting to get interesting."
