"Did you enjoy it?" That is why he couldn't help asking her that question.
"Hmm?" Unohana looked at his smile after coming out of her thoughts and thought about what to say, "I … am not sure," and because of her mixed feelings about it, she couldn't give a clear answer.
"What?" Adam was confused by that answer.
'She looked pretty satisfied after the battle, or was it just me?' It was a confusing matter, but he couldn't ask her any further.
"But I am certain that I will be able to give you an answer after a few more times," Because she spoke before him with a serious look.
"Oh… I see," Adam had a look of realization.
'It must be weird to suddenly have your limiters removed, she had experienced enormous growth because of that,' He felt like he understood her train of thought at this moment, 'it is normal to feel a sense of alienation at first.'
'Did I say something wrong?' Unohana thought looking at him being in such deep thought, 'I may have.' The reason for that doubt was that, for the past two weeks she had felt some very different feelings for the first time.
But she didn't know what to do about it, 'It really may take some time to understand it,' and she thought that it was only natural.
And as clear as it was, Adam didn't understand shit.
Or more like Unohana's usual straightforward nature, had thrown him off into thinking about something else.
"Then I will take my leave," Unohana said bowing slightly, "you have my gratitude for the recipes." She didn't forget to get the recipe for the fried chicken and tteokbokki.
"It was nothing honestly," Adam simply smiled, he gave a full book where he had gathered the recipes for the spicy dishes.
'She really loves eating spicy food, so I don't see a problem with it,' Yeah, he couldn't be happier that she shared another one of his joys.
And that was how Unohana arrived back into Seireitei, she closed the door and saw it vanish letting her surroundings return to normal.
She then wordlessly walked towards the sliding door, and opened it.
"What happened, Captain?" The one standing outside was none other than her current lieutenant.
'Indeed, it looks like no time has passed here,' Adam had told her about it, but now she had confirmed it herself, it was just that there was more to do.
"Contact the Captain General, I would like to meet him," Unohana moved towards her current agenda.
"…I will," The lieutenant thought for a second before rushing away.
And in less than 30 minutes, Unohana was standing in front of the Gotei 13's Captain General, the one said to wield the most destructive power, and said to be the current strongest Shinigami in Soul Society.
"What's the matter Captain of the 11th Division, Unohana Yachiru?" It was none other Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni.
The sheer ferocity he emanated from his body even when he was seated, was enough to knock people out, and this was something Unohana respected before.
Because it took at least that much to be in a position above hers…
'But it pales in comparison to him,' Unohana may not have to worry about the killing intent Adam had, but she had indeed felt for a full month.
It was something that gave her Goosebumps even when she didn't need to worry about it.
That is why she could make that comparison, but this wasn't the reason she came here for.
"I would like to resign from my position as the 11th Division's Captain," Unohana's words were to the point, and because of that, she could see Yamamoto's eyebrows twitch a little, for the first time since she had met him.
"What… are your intentions?" He asked while being incredibly direct, his hand was already on his zanpakuto.
It was like he was ready to kill her at this instant, if she had any plans of baring her fangs toward Seireitei.
'As expected of him,' Unohana knew that this would happen, because that was how Yamamoto was, 'but if I said this before the war, he would've attacked me without a question.'
And yet right now, Yamamoto was acting differently, and the reason for that was very clear, 'Leaving that change aside… it looks like he didn't notice anything,' but Unohana had no interest in it.
There were two reasons she came to see him as soon as she came back, first, she wanted to resign like she had said, and second, she wanted to see if he knew what happened to her.
But looking at Yamamoto it was clear that he was oblivious, that is why she moved forward with her first reason.
"I would like to train in seclusion," And as soon as she said that Yamamoto seemed a little stumped.
Because these words were unnatural coming from her, Unohana was someone who had killed thousands to test out her sword skills, she believed in learning via combat.
Something like practicing alone was unheard of her, even when she was learning healing she did it during combat, healing herself and her opponents and then cutting them again.
But what could've happened now?
'I sensed something was off about her since she walked in…' Yamamoto tried to figure it out even blatantly grabbing his weapon, but there was no change, and since Unohana looked the same looked the same on surface, there was nothing he could figure out.
"Is there something wrong with my proposal?" She knew that there wasn't anything wrong, since two captains had already done this.
"No, there is nothing wrong," Yamamoto said sternly, but Unohana knew that there was a problem with her leaving, and that was because of the plan this old man had for her.
"I will be back after a while, and I will aid in the establishment of the Medical Division like you want," Because of her talents in Kaido, something she picked up to prolong her battles.
Yamamoto wanted her help in establishing a Squad that specialized in healing for the safety of Soul Reapers, but she had been putting it off because her interest in battles had still not waned in the slightest.
But now there was no need to worry, 'I have found the perfect partner for that,' that is why she didn't mind working on the medical squad as she trained on her own.
It was just that she wanted some time alone to sort out her current thoughts, this was the main reason she wanted to leave for some time.
The 11th division was also useless to her at this point, so she decided to leave it behind as the opportunity was in front of her.
"If you have made up your mind, then I see no point in stopping you," Yamamoto said removing his hand from the handle of his Zanpakuto, "Unohana Yachiru, as of now you are no longer the captain of the 11th Division."
"I thank you for your understanding once again," Unohana bowed slightly before taking off the Captain robe, "here you go."
She handed it to Yamamoto's Lieutenant, who had been watching this exchange with a tense expression
But Unohana did not care one bit, she turned around and left the hall like it had nothing to do with her.
"Captain-General… is this…" The lieutenant looked at his captain with an unsure look, it wasn't like no one knew what type of personality Unohana Yachiru was.
And currently, she was going out, without anyone to stop her. She had left her captain post, and that was something terrifying considering how the Captains were.
"Do not worry, that woman will not go back on her words," Yamamoto knew that the current Unohana wasn't the type to go randomly killing anyone, unless they were exceptionally strong.
"Woman…?" But the Lieutenant was more confused about something else.
'Didn't Captain always call her a 'girl' before?' The sudden switch was something he didn't understand, but he was too focused on Yamamoto's words.
"Leaving that aside make the news known," Yamamoto said getting this guy out of his thoughts.
"Captain, you mean…?" And he immediately understood what this meant.
"Even if we can't watch what she does as she is no longer a Captain," He could already picture it in his head, "There is someone else who'll do it for us."
It wasn't just Unohana who wanted to throw away her Captain title, there was someone else who wanted it to happen even more than her.
