Since the mermaid couldn't speak human language, Alan and the others couldn't get any more information. They are only asked to go somewhere, not knowing what awaits them.
"Is she really going to set us up?" Celia looked at the fish being swirled on the bonfire by Haruna.
"We always have to be careful." Alan helped the kunoichi to lower their dinner onto a large leaf. "But I was thinking. If she's going to trap us, wouldn't she be better off leading us to the lake? Why bother asking us to go somewhere on the surface?"
"I will follow you no matter what, Al." Haruna cut the fish with a knife, then shoved it into Alan's mouth. "First piece for you. Now say aaah."
Instead of taking the fish with his mouth, Alan took the fork from Haruna's hand.
Haruna pouted, and Celia only grimaced at that.
